@tomahawk nice win. I did believe Chelsea were the far weaker side, and the odds reflected that but I thought they would be galvanised the way United were with an old boy at the helm. I suppose they weren't in enough dire straits. 4 nil is a bloody result however you look at it and Abramovich will be even more disinterested by this. I mean to lose 4 to nothing is an embarrassment, more so it was to a team that didn't challenge for anything last season.
Now I fear the backlash in Super Cup and damn Chelsea, now the odds will be bad for betting on Pool.
We haven’t discussed LFC for ages brother but I think if Klopp plays our best team Wednesday we’ll murder Chelsea. I think they’ll have a sustained period of mediocrity now, Hazard has gone & they couldn't sign anybody due to the transfer ban. I mean they had some kid called Mount in the first XI & their main striker is a dude who was on loan in The Championship at Villa last season, it’s kind of embarrassing.
I predict a comfortable win for Liverpool. I was offered a free ticket but I only just got back from Amsterdam & the flights & hotels are obscene in Istanbul over those couple of days.
My prediction is 3-0 Reds
You said it, my man. I was very satisfied with the first half performance against Norwich, even without Mane we were a blaze of colour -- credit to the opponents for keeping it open, but that's exactly the type of game we excel in -- although I still think our fullbacks haven't quite shrugged off their preseason creaks.
I actually did look at Istanbul ticks thinking maybe this kind of game escapes the price touts but naive to think that in the end. Something that totally slipped my mind when we won.
3-0 is my favourite prediction too, but that will rely on Chelsea playing to our game. I just hope that hammering doesn't cause them to clam up. Be lovely to see our Terrible Trio start though!
