Even though Arsenal allowed Manchester United to equalize twice in the match yesterday, and the equalizer goal scored by Jesse Lingard might just show the sloppy defense of Arsenal which needs more improvement, but I guess it is still quite acceptable for Arsenal to achieve a draw since they are playing Manchester United at the stadium of Old Trafford. At the very least, Arsenal are still in the race to become one of the top 4 teams on the English Premier League table at the end of this season.
Perhaps fans of Arsenal are disappointed with their defense, but at least with a draw still keeping their hopes of ending this season in the top 4 of the standings. And it is hard for Manchester United to not get up immediately, they are 8 points adrift of the 4th place ranking. if it's still like this I think it's hard for Manchester United to play in the champions league next season.

^  Man United would've actually won if not for Rojo's error leading to a goal and an own goal.  Lol.  What a bad night for him.  Oh well...

While I absolutely hate how Arsenal gave 2 free goals, (I also don't think it's acceptable compared to their performance so far); I wouldn't blame it all on "sloppy defense". Mourinho probably pushed Utd to play a very aggressive tactic, he didn't let Arsenal have any chances. With 3 yellow cards and 13 fouls, every time Arsenal had a chance of a counter-attack, Utd just fouled to break their momentum and keep them from scoring. De Gea also picked up his pace by a mile at the end, basically saving Utd by a thread twice from ending with a 2-3.. I honestly hated the game but there's no denying it was completely Arsenal's fault for both goals on them.

The first goal created by Jack Cork surprised me a lot. But fortunately Liverpool immediately got up and turned things around. Liverpool showed their class at last night's match even though their opponents were not really in keeping with. Burnley is in the relegation zone. The next fixture will be against AFC Bournemouth, away game, which is more tough than today's game I think.

If Liverpool was to panic after being in disadvantage they would have risked not only not winning the game but their gap to Manchester City would be even bigger so it is a good thing that Liverpool did turn things around calmly.

Even if they would panic I would understand them, they came from a derby which they won in 96 minute which impacts players when being in disadvantage. It will be a busy time for Premier League now up to January so Liverpool should stay in top form.

Well, how about that? We all knew Wolves are just too good not to be able to beat one of the Big4/6, and remember they did cause City to lose their first two points. They're not only meeting Liverpool soon in the league too, also matched up in 1 of 2 all EPL FA Cup Round 3 ties. It's a crazy next 7 games for Liverpool - United, Napoli and Arsenal to meet, so no suprise we even started with Moreno last night.

-snip-

Liverpool's third goal in extra time by Shaqiri was a thing of beauty: https://streamable.com/x5ju4

Allison made a magnificent save, without which the game would likely have ended 2-2. He then kept it in play to deny Burnley a corner, and after he threw it to Sturridge, 4 touches and it was in the back of Burnley's net. Sturridge, Salah and Shaqiri all had beautiful touches. What a great goal.

Compare that goal to the United - Arsenal game, haha. Almost zero fluidity or teamwork on either side, and 4 of the worst goals we've ever seen in the Premier League.
So good to see Bobby come on and score in minutes, and of course Salah got the nice assist to add to Shaqiri's tally (but we should credit Burnley for attacking at 2-1 or we wouldn't have been able to hit on the counter). We've got quite a number of quick counter goals this season, but a sweet win on the road nevertheless, best record in EPL for us keeps getting better. We're still FAR from our best so this is very good news... and City can't seem to rely on Jesus, so Aguero's all they got that's reliable. Just hope they slip up before we meet in January.

Burnley - Liverpool: Didn't watch the game but I saw the score at the 60 min and it was 1-0 for Burnley, a quick glance at Liverpool's formation made me wonder: "why are they playing with a 4-3-1-2 system?", and it seems like Klopp realized he messed it up all with that system and decided to go with the usual 4-3-3 by bringing Salah and Firmino onto the pitch and...the game ended 1-3, great result for Liverpool.

Wolves - Chelsea: I didn't expect Chelsea to drop points today, let alone to lose against Wolverhampton...I wonder what happened?

Man Utd - Arsenal: that was a pretty entertaining game, especially because it was so unpredictable, I mean, I certainly didn't expect Arsenal to have a brain fart and concede a goal 30 secs later after going up 2-1...poor performance from both defence. Btw, 4th consecutive game without a win for Manchester United.

I think that if Manchester United doesn't win the game tomorrow Mourinho should be the first to resign or if he doesn't do that he should be fired by the club.

I think Arsenal is going to win tomorrow and with a goal difference of more than one goal. If they repeat the gameplay they did against Tottenham they will win against Manchester United too and with goals difference.

Arsenal is much more integrated team
Even if they are down during game they are able to bounce back and win
Emery did really great job
United is unpredictable but Arsenal will not give them a gift like Juve did
So Arsenal to win and Mou blaming everybody around

Bang already 1-0 Arsenal

I guess Tottenham might have a chance to take over Arsenal at the 4th spot on the English Premier League table if they could beat Southampton today, since Arsenal are travelling to Old Trafford to play against Manchester United and even though Manchester United are not in their best form but I think they are still a much stronger team than Southampton. There is a high chance we might see a draw at full time in the match between Manchester United and Arsenal, and I believe Tottenham would be able to beat Southampton today and claim all three points in order to get into the top 4 teams on the table again.

@tokeweed - You know what, I have a feeling United will beat Arsenal tonight. I’m probably talking absolute shit but I went 3-2 Man United in our betting pool.

Mourinho always pulls a rabbit out of a hat when everybody is laughing at him.

Mmmm...  Dunno, let's see.  I just can't see it happening.  I'm more likely to think Mou is gonna start going thru a nervous breakdown or something in the next couple months or so.  Grin

His odd celebration of Fellaini's goal at the CL really tells a lot of how stressed he is.

Yeah that was funny but I get why he did it, like you said he’s under a shit load of stress. I can’t imagine how stressful that job is, the expectation & pressure etc.

Manchester United must win to keep the opportunity to stay ahead of the champions league next season, and also with a victory maybe it will be a little safe for Mourinho's position. This will be tight and difficult, my personal prediction will be a 2-2 draw.

You are good enough to go because Mourinho is really can do magic like this when most of peoples feel he is down and out now time for him to do some serious job and stop this all criticism  even Arsenal is now also on target and they done good enough for last few matches but this War is going to be very tough for them and home advantage is very good for Mourinho.

I totally forgot there were games last night till I saw the newspapers about stupid City winning again. So used to the games played from Friday to Monday and midweek for cup games and CL. And forgot that December is usually packed.

Manchester City are letting in goals now, of course not to the level other teams are but if watford can manage 2-1, it must mean City is not impossible to at least draw against.

Oh and Mourinho adjusted his target of top 4 in December. I have a deep feeling 1 of the big 6 is going to shock everyone in December. I bet it's Manchester United.

How deep?  Deep enough to make a small fun bet on it?  Grin

I think Mou is full of sh*t right now and he's just basically trying to keep his job imho.  So he's forced to say stuff like 'we'll be top 4'.  But c'mon, let's be real here.  It's just not happening...  Not after them losing to Arsenal 0 - 3 (it's what I have in the betting pool Cheesy).

Manchester City won easily yesterday although it let one goal in , that was because of last moments of the game a distruction can happen when you are leading by two goals.

Liverpool has to win today and I think they will because they are playing against Burnley which has not shown a good football this year and it is struggling.

Manchester United vs Arsenal is a big game, and it's a shame it's in midweek nevertheless this game is very important for both the teams and their managers. If Arsenal repeats the way they played against Tottenham then there's no way Manchester United can beat them. I expect Mourinho to be parking the bus, and I can even bet Manchester United shall only be defending with no real intent to attack. I hope for Manchester United sake Mourinho is shown the door, otherwise we shall never qualify for top 4.
