I think one way to address this problem would be to limit the faucet to accounts with <0 profit. It would cut down on the support emails by simply cutting down on the amount of people who have access to the faucet.

Unlike PD2, PD3 does not count faucet claims against your profit, so a new account would be allowed to use the faucet as much as they want until they cashout (or tip away the profits) for the first time. After this, however, they could only play with deposits, as their profit would be over 0. To access the faucet multiple times, which is the group who clogs up support with unnecessary emails, you would either need to lose the coins yourself or buy an account with negative profit. People who use the faucet solely to try and make the minimum cashout to gain a profit are unlikely to intentionally lose coins, since that would be counterproductive, leaving the faucet free for those who use it "normally". Once again, as with PD2, there is the issue of account selling, however, using this system, the house could never lose more to botters than the amount the accounts themselves had already lost to the house, leaving a sold account at worst as a 0 profit to the house, never negative. You also already mentioned that the motives for removing the faucet were not economic ones, but more related to customer service and the atmosphere of the chat, so this should not be a concern anyway. I doubt botters are going to be emailing support anyway, since they don't want to draw attention to themselves.

Finally, you claim that the faucet reduces the quality of the chat, while I believe the reverse to be true. Removing the faucet entirely would have a strong adverse affect on the chat, since it would cause people to beg from others much more, since other players would now be their only source of free btc.

I have messaged stunna countless times since months now to IP ban me from he's website as I have a some how sort of addiction to the game. Whenever I get bitcoins, I usually lose them to he's site and all he does is ignore the request.

I feel that this is extremely imature and that a gambling website should not treat their customers like this, he talks all about playing fair and everything but when a customer can't control he's self and its behind the scenes from the public. He doesn't give a shit basically if you lose, just ip ban me already jezus.

If you use Linux or a Mac, run this command:

Code:
sudo bash -c "echo \"127.0.0.1     primedice.com\" >> /etc/hosts"

Stunna hates what you do that shit, and will instant ban you.

In Windows, the file is at c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.txt open it as an admin and append the line:

Code:
127.0.0.1     primedice.com

and Stunna's wrath will be instant and permanent

Honestly, we don't keep persistent track of IP's nor do we have an easy mechanism to ban IP's. Please take steps to ban yourself from the website. I can lock your account if you wish.
is this guy asking to be banned?

I'm pretty sure this is a textbook example of irresponsible advertising. Cheesy

Nope, we definitely had that ad made unfortunately. Obviously this is in extreme poor taste, and will be swapped out ASAP. I take full responsibility for that super unethical ad given my lack of involvement in marketing lately. I will be more involved in what limited marketing we do from now on and something like this won't happen again. Sorry guys
There really is nothing wrong with it, trading and gambling is the same thing

And this was the only ad i didn't block Sad .

I'm pondering the removal of the faucet more seriously now, the cost of it has significantly decreased but the incredible amount of support emails that center around the faucet itself or amounts under 0.0005 from faucet bettors along with a much larger userbase has decreased the quality of the support we can offer severely. Many argue that it must be removed as it lowers the quality of the chat and community as well.

What are the thoughts of everyone and if faucet is removed what should levels be used for?

Thanks
its simple stunna, if u wager 2 or 3 bitcoins, u can use the faucet and also im this is your first week on primedice

bringing back whitelist would solve this problem

Whitelist accounts were auctioned off publicly, half the whitelist were botters.
you can just delist them if it happens again

hee-ho.

I'm sure the people who actually claim the faucet would prefer something different to take its place as well provided the reward was still equal. Still looking for suggestions on that.

I still think the faucet is necessary, but throwing some suggestion around won't hurt... here's some of my suggestions with their cons (in my opinion, anyway), they are ridiculous as usual.

1. the only thing that I can think as an "equal" to faucet is rakeback. but it'll lost the one important feature that faucet has, helping newcomers get used to the site.

2. a level-based tip rains is also equal. but there's a big problem with that (alts, acc selling, and maybe some more)

3. you can also reward users for getting achievements and leveling up, that will reduce the account selling problem; but it'll make the chat spammy unless you remove the chat achievements.

there you go, now I can sleep in peace

Don't sacrifice the players enjoyment over "I can't read all these damn emails!!!".

Is adding more support an option? One who only deals with faucet/chat/stupid problems. I will volunteer.

I'm not looking for either extra help or sympathy. It's annoying but not a massive deal to get 50+ emails a day simply from people complaining about having lost free money. If this is the type of community the faucet will encourage that is my principle concern though. The cost is no longer a major issue either as it was prior.

You could just hire a regular CSR to deal with emails @ minimum wage. Assuming they aren't completely overwhelmed by 200 emails a day, they probably have time to continue on as the sole CSR as PD continues to grow, even if you are fostering a non-paying community (who may have value just in talking about PD every now and then, or being more receptive to ways they can advertise it now that they've vetted it).

honestly im not much of a gambler in fact I only have .0105 btc to my name. This faucet needs to stay for amusement and to help people that don't have much extra income to spend on bitcoin.

-different color chat usernames you unlock depending on your lvl
-house edge lowers the higher lvl you are
-get a certain % back of your losses if your negative and have the % you get back depends on your lvl
-0 confirm deposits for higher lvl members
-you could limit chat to like 1 msg per 10 seconds and remove  a second from that limit every lvl you go up
-no cashout fee once you hit a certain level

Is that not supports job though? I understand that yeah it's annoying as hell to read basically the same email from multiple members complaining about losing their free money, but you're going to deal with that no matter what decision you make honestly. If you remove it the emails will switch from "my faucet was lowered, why?? D:" to "I now hate your site for not having a faucet, you are dumb for removing it. Me and everyone I know will now move to this other site because they still offer faucet." You are running a multi million dollar "company" there will always be someone who is unhappy with something you are doing, its inevitable.

Another thing that could help out with faucet, is to allow users to contribute to faucet funds. Allow us to tip "faucet" when we are up, it would lower your costs on faucet.

I think faucet should remain to prevent disappointment & unhappiness of the Majority . As from my POV . more & more so call " freeloaders & beggars " including spam chat "bot" are increasing in the chat community even tho without faucet , due to generous & huge amount of tippings "rains" going on either by other users & your "Mod" .
My suggestions :
1) tips at min 10k (as b4) , due to current tips 50k above most "beggars" gets the tip & withdraw .
2) min 1 deposit from user
3) min withdrawal set 0.005 ~ 0.01
4) tips from users ( voluntary ) to funding foundation *** set a user name for it

bringing back whitelist would solve this problem
Whitelist accounts were auctioned off publicly, half the whitelist were botters.

What about making it not be a permanent whitelist?  If mods see accounts sold (and you think that is an abuse) or you think they are botters take them off the whitelist?  I'm actually amazed more accounts are not sold, but that is a different issue.

We keep coming back to the problem that it is not the faucet per se but the abuse of it.  Sure a whitelist may be subjective, so what, there is no substitute for human judgement.  Use that to stop abuse, especially since abuse is so hard to define in advance.

I think you've taken a lot of intermediate steps that have improved things and I'm all for a "less spammy and gameable" system, maybe you'll get a better discussion on here if you layout some specific ideas?  Set up a cool poll or something.  I think this is a hard thing though, if any system like that was obvious you or some other dice operator would have tried it already.

Thanks again for discussing it and for PrimeDice!

ok then what about "support tickets" like you open a support ticket on the site and provide your email to them to respond to.  and just have it set up  with a required subject field with a dropbox of options like  "missing deposit" "faucet" "missing cashout"  "other" so that way support could filter out all the emails about faucet

Yeah seriously, isn't it their job in the first place to deal with all the emails anyway? I would assume they get paid? Mods deal with the exact same thing as support only without pay, and I don't see any of them complaining.
