Ich denke das sie die Möglichkeit haben die XTZ irgendwie zurück zu halten, sonst würde ja niemand den KYC machen. Als wir vor etwa einem Jahr beim Tezos ICO teilgenommen haben war KYC noch ein Fremdwort, mittlerweile aber Standard für seriöse Firmen, auch wenn ich es als nervig empfinde. Hier ist einfach zu viel Zeit vergangen, deshalb muss der KYC nachgeholt werden.

nein, höre ich auch das erste Mal. Ich habe grundsätzlich kein Problem mit KYC, habe auch schon mehr als mir lieb ist hinter mir, wer weiß, wo meine Daten überall rumfahren, aber...

Solange es noch Exchanges gibt, auf denen ohne Verifikation gehandelt werden kann, und darüber hinaus noch die DEXen, ist das alles nur wenig sinnvoll, ebenso finde ich das nachträglich "verpflichten" zu einem KYC nicht in Ordnung, wenn, dann sollen sie's freiwillig machen, wobei ich mir eh die Frage stelle, ob man nicht auch automatisch ohne KYC seine XTZ hat, schließlich haben wir ja eine "Paper wallet" und sind doch eigentlich schon im Besitz der Coins, oder sehe ich da etwas falsch, könnte die Foundation die Token jetzt noch zurückhalten?

Dear Tezos community,

As the operational details for the Tezos betanet launch continue to be finalized, we would like to announce the implementation, at this time, of Know Your Customer / Anti Money Laundering (“KYC/AML”) checks for contributors.

We value and respect the privacy of our contributors, and along with countless others around the world, we personally oppose the unnecessary collection of personal information that has become pervasive on the Internet. However, it is important to comply with a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. To that end, performing a KYC/AML check — as has become the norm for blockchain projects — is the best way forward.

To facilitate this process, the Tezos Foundation has partnered with a third-party vendor to conduct all KYC/AML checks. Contributors that successfully complete this process will receive activation codes corresponding to their public key hashes from the donation period; these codes will be required for contributors to access their recommended allocations.

Contributors should know that KYC/AML will be available post-launch. There is no need for contributors to complete the process before the betanet launch unless they wish to access their recommended allocations immediately after the betanet goes live.

What is KYC/AML?
KYC/AML is a due diligence process that allows for the identities of individuals to be verified. It has become a best practice in the blockchain ecosystem and industry for KYC/AML checks to be conducted.
 
Why do KYC/AML?
During the Tezos Foundation’s donation period in July 2017, there was no blockchain ecosystem or industry consensus on this subject. As the blockchain ecosystem and industry has matured over the past ten months, it has become a best practice to verify that contributors meet basic KYC/AML criteria.

We take the right to personal privacy seriously, and the implementation of KYC/AML checks is the product of careful deliberation.

The Tezos Foundation intends to use its resources to support activities that will advance the Tezos protocol, its community, and open-source technologies; the implementation of KYC/AML checks will allow us to support these objectives.

Bei Lisk und eigentlich überall bei dPoS bilden sich ja oft Kartelle, was für Tezos unschön wäre.

4.3 Solving Collective Action Problems
The collective action problem arises when multiple parties would benefit from
taking an action but none benefit from individually undertaking the action.
This is also known as the free-rider problem. There are several actions that
the holders of a cryptocurrency could undertake to raise its profile or defend it
against legal challenges.

4.3.1 Raising Awareness
As of July 2014, the market capitalization of Bitcoin was around $8B. By spend-
ing about 0.05% of the Bitcoin monetary mass every month, Bitcoin could make
highly visible charitable donations of $1M every single week. Would, as of 2014,
an entire year of weekly charitable donations raise the value of Bitcoin by more
than 0.6%? We think the answer is clearly, and resoundingly \yes". Bitcoin
stakeholders would be doing well while doing good.
However, Bitcoin stakeholders are unable to undertake such an operation
because of the difficulty of forming large binding contracts. This type of col-
lective action problem is solved in Tezos. A protocol amendment can set up
a procedure by which stakeholders may vote every month on a few addresses
where 0.05% of the monetary mass would be spent. The stakeholder's consensus
might be to avoid dilution by voting on an invalid address, but it could also be
that the money would be better spent as a charitable gift.

4.3.2 Funding Innovation
Financing of innovation would also be facilitated by incorporating bounties di-
rectly within the protocol. A protocol could deline unit tests and automatically
16 reward any code proposal that passes these tests.
Conversely, an innovator designing a new protocol could include a reward to
himself within the protocol. While his protocol could be copied and the reward
stripped, the stakeholder's consensus would likely be to reward the original
creator. Stakeholders are playing a repeated game and it would be foolish to
defect by refusing a reasonable reward.

Specifics In the seed protocol, mining a block offers a reward of ꜩ512 and
requires a bond of ꜩ1536. Signing a block offers a reward of 32ΔT-1 tez where
ΔT is the time interval in minutes between the block being signed and its
predecessor. There are up to 16 signatures per block and signing requires no
bond.These numbers were based on a supply of 10 billions tokens and we will
tweak them accordingly. We may increase the number of signatures per block
as well as we’ve found in simulations it can strongly increase the difficulty of
forks.

Thus, assuming a mining rate of one block per minute, about 8% of the
initial money mass should be held in the form of safety bonds after the first
year. subject to change based on the adjustment of the parameters above.
The reward schedule implies at most a 5.4% nominal inflation rate (the
total block rewards will still start at about 5% per year, but we may add an
asymptotic cap to the total number of tokens. We think it’s irrelevant when the
governance model is aligned with the token holder’s interest, but it is important
to some people so we’re reluctantly considering it). Nominal inflation is neutral,
it neither enrishes nor impoverishes anyone2.
Note that the period of a year is determined from the block’s timestamps,
not from the number of blocks. This is to remove uncertainty as to the length
of the commitment made by miners.

What does all of this really mean?

Ultimately, we could be seeing a brand-new revolution here in the way cryptocurrencies are ‘gathered’ from the network. Whilst mining has inherent advantages, it seems that baking does too, such advantages include:

    Resistance to DDoS attacks.
    Key Protection.
    Prevention of Mitigating Intrusion

This this going to be the start of an artisan-blockchain revolution?

Who knows? Mining is such a familiar function that we should expect this new take to take some time to become a part of the blockchain mainstream, overall though, as an idea, baking really does seem to fix a few problems and vulnerabilities that mining does expose. As a result of this, we should at least be open to the idea that more and more new products could launch under this guise.

Above all, this is sentiment to the growing nature of blockchain technology, as we can see, in many respects, the possibilities of the blockchain are quite literally endless.

Preparations for Tezos launch

After reaching fundamental milestones in recent months, we are excited to announce that final preparations for the Tezos beta network (“betanet”) are underway. As we approach the launch of the betanet, you will receive additional details via email and on tezos.com.
 
Preparations for the Betanet

The Tezos community has been running the alphanet, a test network, successfully for well over a year. Although this provided valuable engineering insight, there is no substitute for real-world experience. To that end, the Tezos Foundation looks forward to the launch of the betanet. Tezos contributors who opt to interact with this network must understand that it will undergo unscheduled downtime and require maintenance and adjustments. We anticipate a broader main network (“mainnet”) launch to follow with transactions from the betanet persisting into the mainnet.
 
Check Your Contribution
A genesis block will be proposed by the Tezos Foundation at the betanet launch. To prepare for this, it is imperative that all contributors verify their donation — regardless of size — to confirm that it was received by the Foundation. The Foundation intends to recommend allocations in this proposed genesis block for donations of any size that were received during the fundraiser, but they must appear in the “Check Your Contribution” tool.

Click on the “Check Your Contribution” link below to access the tool and enter the Tezos public key hash that was included on the PDF document you created during the fundraiser. Only use this link and do not enter any other information besides your public key hash. If the donation does not appear when you enter your public key hash, then it will not be included as a recommended allocation in the genesis block proposed by the Foundation unless you take additional steps to make sure it is included. Further information is given on the linked page.
