I had watched a video somewhere in Iran or Iraq that a rape convict will have a punishment but not directly. His sister or any woman in the family will be raped, too bad for those innocent women who are related to the suspect.

The video may be from Pakistan or Afghanistan. Iran doesn't have barbaric laws such as this one. But in Pakistan, this normally happens. The rape of Mukhtaran Bibi is a prime example.

I just can't remember on what Particular country that video was. I tried to google who was that Mukhtaran Bibi and it was the same video that I watched. Too bad for people who are living on these places, they don't value laws, they don't value life, they don't know what's human rights. Shame on those people.

It's not fair if the punishment for the rapist is this. His family member would suffer. How do we know that the rapist is affected if one of his family member will be raped too? He is the one who commited the crime, so he is the only one who must be punish.

Truly! Who wants to marry her rapist? It would just make her remind of the horrors she experienced with the hands of that person! I respect that life is valuable hence I think that the right punishment is "life in imprisonment" which no decision can make it short if he is found guilty of the said crime. Also, I believe that death sentence is a way for them to escape the real punishment that they deserve.

That would be horrendous for the victim right. Imagine the trauma of having the rape act being presented every single day. It's sick. People who commit rape shouldn't be given any pleasure of being with their victims at all.

Let leave marrying the victim AUT of the options of punishment for rapists, cause that will lead for more accident of rap. Let take for instance if you like a lady and you approach her but she say no to your marriage proposals the next option is to rape the lady after all you will be ask to marry the person freely.
In my country the punishment for rape is life in imprisonment I think that is the best.

I think the penalty to be given to a rapist should be as big as possible. And I think the appropriate punishment for a rapist is 2, that is life imprisonment and death sentence. Because if the punishment is not heavy, there will be no deterrent effect and fear to do that.

Punishments wont change anything because all types of punishments have been tried by different goverments of various countries.
Rape is a curse for the complete human kind amd it can be stopped only by changing minds of people because regardless of whatever punishment you declare the rapist will think he wont be caught and he will attempt the crime. So if there needs a red signal on rape then you need to change minds of people. Changing minds of people is possible only by proper education and counselling and by teaching ethical and moral values of life.

I think the best punishment for rapists should be something brutal and something that even future or those who are planning to do the crime will make them not do it. It should be something that would scare them to commit the crime. Rape is a crime that cannot be forgiven, so it's best for them to have that kind of punishment.
