We are not worried, QORA is very unique. Sure, someone else could attempt to take it and do something with it, but it still won't be QORA, it won't have what QORA will have, as QORA will be the one and only with the ideas we have in mind.
Do not fear, is what I'm saying I suppose.
We have the right people doing the right things. We are open to others, if they're in for a long-term project looking to provide real technical merit.

I hope that my observations have not offended you and will not offend you. Surely, from the inside you may see the merits of the project which others do not see with such clarity. To the outsider, when he may check the list of the function that the qora currently offers, he compares it with the functions that some other projects offer, and does not see the difference. So, it is like with many different cars. So, a nice car, which you can buy and use, is much better than the equally or even, subjectively, slilghtly better car which is always under construction, but which is always promised to be better than the rest, and in fact, it may well be, however, no one can ever check that because the car is always under construction (however, the promises may manipulate the market during the whole time of construction). However, since the qora's development is not being done in the way that it does not require the financing, that the qora is also the subject of buying and selling, then we should be honestly viewing all those development and financial and community factors.

As for the openledger. I do not have not an account there. But if the qora actually costs $0.3 or something there (if I am not mistaken), it is really extremely overpriced on the basis of the rumours, which are currently not professionally substantiated.

Let's compare a few things. Let's say in the computer business if the self-descriptiona and slogan of the company is "Your honest computer company. We are here to keep things affordable and professional for all of your IT needs and more!" then it would imply, in dealing with the customers, generally or particularly estimated costs, general deadlines, and the deadline for the delivery of the working product. Otherwise, the clients would say, well, there is something weird about the company, shady, obscure, they either do not care about the clients, or do not care to care about the clients ) And if they act like that, and the company's shares are on the market, they will fall. But with the crypto, there is sort of backdoor into the market ("shares' price") manipulation by the rumours. And this may make the things to be not professional and not quite honest.

I also wanted to point out a few things that QORA has that no other coin has, so maybe you will understand why I think it has capability beyond most and will succeed...

1. QORA can host websites, ON CHAIN.

2. With the hosting tech comes a whole plethora of services that can be offered.

3. QORA has Smart Contracts and was the 'first' (it was the second in reality, but it was the first Smart Contract system developed and live, by CIYAM. Which was first active on BURST, followed shortly by QORA.)

4. With the combination of Smart Contracts and decentralized web hosting and communications, there are a LOT of things we can make happen, which we will explain more in depth once they're implemented.

5. QORA can run the entire gamut of decentralized services, unlike any other token, as it can host the functionality of a web server, so it can host not only the SERVICE itself, but the website for the service as well.

You will see these and many more things made use of in unique ways in both the current version during official re-release, and especially in V2 once the new chain goes live. I am very happy to be the one who gets to show these things to everyone when the time comes. Smiley

Qora coin is back or not ?  Embarrassed

define 'back' Wink

QORA is in active development.

QORA has released 3 new 'beta' versions to fix stability issues.

Once stability is addressed, much more will come. Marketing, exchanges, etc.

IMO QORA was never 'gone', just 'dormant' for a while. So it had nowhere to come 'back' from. But yes, to answer the question in a straight forward way... yes, QORA is 'back'. It will be 'back with a vengeance' very soon!

Sure, and you will see marketing come about shortly. All I'm saying is that right now we're focused on stability overall, THEN we will focus on marketing and getting the word out. We simply do not want to work backwards, we want a solid project from the core, THEN will show everyone what it can do and explain why it is better than others. Smiley

v0.26.4 released which should fix the JSONObject cast error pop-up that's stopping some people from starting their QORA client.

Available (as always) via github at:

https://github.com/Qoracoin/Qora/releases/tag/0.26.4

Feedback appreciated! Hopefully two more bugs squashed.

Uninstalled the previous version manually (there was no automatic uninst. option).
Preserved the wallet and the blockchain. Did not remove the data folder.
Installed 26.4
Took some time to load - 10 min.
It picked up the syncing right where the previous prog had been dropped (see previous feedbacks).
Took a few hours to finish the sync.
After full sync, the next relaunch was successful, forging ok, wallet locked, unlocked ok.
Well, seems to be working ok right now.

I would have dropped the whole idea, if there were more of the bugs again, patience and time being limited. )

So, there is the obvious need for the greater number of the devs, incentives, community involvement, thus discord, telegram, roadmap with clearly outlined dates. Otherwise some other team could implement sooner what you have in mind )

We are NOT worried about competition, we are NOT worried about 'doing what we're supposed to do' to 'keep up with the nonsense trends' (or did you not say nonsense?) heh.

Anyway, there is no doubt in my mind of what QORA will be, I have no intention on rushing any part of it. I will continue to say for the people attempting to push things faster than the pace at which they are meant to go... if you are unhappy with the pace, there's always another place. Wink

We are here to build something great, we are not here to build something to get everyone rich by doing nothing, we are not here to prove any measure of anything to anyone. We are here to make a great project into what it can be. That is all.

Anyone else is free to submit ideas and whatever they feel necessary, they are also free to push QORA to get wherever they please, as for the rest, and what our team in particular is doing, we will go at the pace at which makes sense, and do what we feel is best at the time we feel it is, and that's that.

I have no doubts whatsoever of what QORA CAN do, and no doubt it WILL. We simply make it happen one step at a time, no need to get ahead of ourselves.

First, we make it very stable, then we start working on new features and additions to other exchanges, along with teaching people how to trade on OpenLedger, as I DO believe it is still superior to a typical exchange, and anyone who 'doesn't use it' is simply 'too lazy to figure it out' and maybe with a few simple how-tos, they'll learn.

I also think that with a little work, we can make QORA's exchange, into one that could potentially trade BTC and other tokens. With the help of smart contracts and other nodes, we can build a node-based decentralized exchange, but this is an 'ahead of ourselves' type idea, so we'll talk more on that later.

crypto times have changed, I mean that a super technical project can be unnoticed. Now the hype and mass promotion are important.

why do not you openledger about it nonetheless, no one can trade there. There is a lot of better exchanges, still a thread of this 4 league exchange. Even if they do automatic deposit, no one major trader will not pay bitcoin there  Grin

It's cryptopia, it's binance, even such liqui, biitrex is a dream Wink

I'm happy that qora came to life, but remember that crypto is in a big bubble. Here you have to work in many dimensions. code development, marketing, exchange

Stop pushing bittrex, bittrex has gone rogue.

Are there any news about when Open Ledger will enable Qora withdrawal again? If the software is now fixed with new version 0.26.1 then the service should enable it soon, right? I am just wondering because a huge amount of my Qora lies on the service.
Second, lies??? Please inform me of said lies.

Thanks for your answer.

Sorry, I expressed myself awkwardly. I didn't mean "lie" in the sense of lying. I meant the tokens are on my account on Openledger. Similar to 'it lies on the side.'  Smiley

You must realize also that QORA tokens on OpenLedger, are actually a UIA or User Issued Asset on top of Bitshares.

What it is, is a way for a 'gateway' to QORA on OpenLedger, provided by OpenLedger.

What I'm attempting to get them to do, once everything is solid, is automate the process, similar to the way that they do all of their other open.tokens.

We will make it happen one way or another. Smiley

I could also potentially develop my own service like this, built on top of Bitshares as well, this is another option that is possible.

Another thing I was thinking of, was to do something very similar to this, aside from the fact it would use Smart Contracts to control the private keys for Bitcoin and other tokens, to make the QORA exchange into a decentralized exchange.

There are so many things we can do with QORA. It's going to be fun!

First of all, we never said 'yay QORA is perfect now' and we are still releasing updated versions with new fixes based on previous logs.

Second, lies??? Please inform me of said lies.

Third, I am in communication with Ronny at OpenLedger, and will get it taken care of as soon as possible.

P.S. On a second start, the program would not visibly run (it would run in a background for a few minutes (and be seen in a program manager) and would dissapear completely after that)

Today I have tried to fix the problem by the "repair" function of the installation. I replaced everything, even wallet, but kept the blockchain. Did not work. The program would launch invisibly , would occupy up to 600k of memory in a minute or so, and then shut down. Win 10 pro/64. No problem with any other program or installation.

Any one experiencing the same thing?

Again, at the first installation, running, synch, wallet recovery from the seed, everything was fine.

Well, if I uninstall it all, and will not keep the blockchain, and will install everything anew, will have to spend those few hours for sync again?

Unistalled the 26.2.1 (but kept the blockchain and wallet)
Installed the version 26.3.
After a half of a minutes after launching the Qora, a window "Updating databases" pops up, a little bit later another window "startup error: org.json.simple.JSONObject cannot be cast to java.lang.String" pop us. After cilcking "ok" both windows shuts down. So, it's impossible to get into the wallet.

I also had some problems, maybe java update will help. Which operating system do you use?

upon update to 26.3 you'll likely need to delete the 'data' folder and let QORA resync. That fixed it for me.

Qora is an incredibly powerful crypto currency.  First ever for smart contracts.  Well ahead of ETH.  First ever for cross chain transfers.  All this was based on the work of http://ciyam.org/.

Qora was ahead of it's time.  It is still as powerful as any coin out today.

In fact my good sir, it is MORE powerful than most coins, in my opinion all of them. I will soon help to prove this. Along with the amazing people we have, it is going to be great. Smiley

I always know Qora is powerful and great.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to prove I am right. Grin

I can't find any details on any "mabowl" exploit and Google searches only throw up mentions of it being a "generic" exploit which leads me to think it's a false positive by some of the 3rd-party virus scanners used by VirusTotal.

In increasing level of paranoia/work involved:

  • You can compare the MD5/SHA1/SHA256 of your downloaded ZIP with the ones at github to make sure your copy hasn't been tampered with.
  • You can compile your own JAR from the sources downloaded directly from github(*)
  • You can look through the sources at github for code that resembles "mabowl"

(*) If you have Eclipse IDE installed then you can follow the instructions at http://docs.qora.org/#import-source-code-to-eclipse

Lots of programs that contain networking/downloading code trigger false positives.

Hope this helps!

I scanned Qora_v0.26.2.1.zip from https://github.com/Qoracoin/Qora/releases using VirusTotal and got the following alerts

AegisLab    Exp.Java.Mabowl!c    20171212
Ikarus    Exploit.JAVA.Mabowl    20171212

https://www.virustotal.com/de/file/baf5e49ad90493c56a4bd880cfaf42c5a329c5342010541790ff37c9390f52a1/analysis/1513105395/

Are those false positives or are those real viruses?
