1.37 was a breeze updated both my windows and mac nodes and everythings working fine. Thanks crow.

Very glad to hear it. Smiley

Been stuck at 40% for the last hour Sad

1.3.6 was at 84% after 2 days. I deleted all the files, rebooted my PC, and it was moving along all day til now. What do I gotta do? My time says its exact

Followed instructions for the bootstrap off of github release page. I will report back. All this for a coin I can't afford buying and probably won't be competitive enough to mint lol. Blockchain looks worth it tho!

There is no 'competition' to mint... did you read the distribution? Every minter shares every block's reward, if they're online and sync'd with a minting key assigned. The level of the minter denotes their share of the reward...

You don't 'compete'... you simply stay online and mint.

Here is a great image put together by The Qortal Community illustrating the steps involved in a cross-chain trade in the Trade Portal. I thought this image was a great representation, so I decided to share it here so those outside Discord might see it.

I am also going to post it on the Qortal main website.

Thank you to the community for the great work!

Giving this another shot on my poor Intel core i3 lol. But after reading about leap seconds and the slowing of the Earth's rotation on its access, I would like to keep my clocks in sync on my humble, but efficient machine. Smiley

Definitely install the new version - https://github.com/Qortal/qortal/releases/download/v1.3.7/Qortal-1.3.7.exe

If you are coming from an older version chain db... you will have a 're-shape' that takes place upon initial start. This may take some time to complete.

After that it will start and many issues are resolved. Including less CPU usage for your i3. Wink

I think I'm going to cry. I saw the last link was for 1.3.6 and I've been syncing for two days and still am only at 84%... what do I do now?

EDIT - Alright I deleted my old 1.3.6 AppData. And the wizard for 1.3.7 is running. I'll be back in December when I finally get this running.

- ANN - New version 1.3.6 of the Qortal Core, addressing db size, BTC stability, and more.

Version 1.3.6 of the core has been released, we will NOT do an auto-update until many nodes have been updated manually first...

This version addresses DB size, includes the first 'trimming' method that removes old online account signatures, and keeps them trimmed to certain size, along with other trimming to keep db around 6GB and not increasing.

This version fixes the trade portal and BTC functionality making it much more stable and functional.

Now we can really start promoting harder.

Next steps:

1. List LTC for faster, cheaper trades.

2. Get the voting system going

3. Take votes for future listings

4. Start designing app, even if the app is only a wallet and Q-Chat (or maybe two different apps)

5. Add features to Q-Chat beyond what we've already added, with emojis, etc... add the ability to store messages longer on each individual machine, etc.

What is it for? I don't see any point in this at all.
Another CENTRALIZED Exchange.
Qortal was not created for this.
We have a wonderful Trade Portal where:
You are the server,
You are the Exchange,
You are an independent node.
It is wonderful.
You trade with other people, and all funds are stored on your own PC. You are not transferring money to some third party exchange.
Complete decentralization.
We just need more pairs to the Trading Portal and forget about these centralized controlled exchanges.

I think you are missing the point, Qort's goal is to be very decentralized to the point that even a centralized exchange can choose to list it if they wish.

The developers didn't push for this. The listing was done by someone outside of the developer team and it is their freedom to do it.

Qort developers are not putting any restrictions on exchange listing, they just don't encourage it or support centralized exchanges.

They would rather have people use the DEX as it would be more secure than trading on an exchange that might get hacked, funds locked, shut down, etc.

Trading is now live on https://www.btcmax.com/trade/QORT_USDT

as far as I can see, up to 1 BTC no KYC is required either Smiley

GO QORT!!

syncing keeps getting stuck after 91% Sad

Are you sure the sync is STUCK, or is it just moving slower? Try restarting your core and see if that helps, if not we have a lot of improvements upcoming.

Things are progressing nicely.

I have updated the website - https://qortal.org - should be a bit simpler to understand, etc.

Also, we're in progress on multiple fronts development wise...

1. We are working out solutions to the large db, which is caused (a large portion anyway) by the 'AT states' for the Trade portal filling up the db.

- we plan to both have a new way for the ATs to function wherein they don't need communication each block, and thus reducing the overall amount of data needed to be saved, and also improving the methods at which the db functions.

2. We are working out the listing of LTC, however, the process is going to take a little longer than initially expected... as most things go that are done correctly.

- We are not far off either way though, and LTC should be able to be added within a relatively short period.

AT THE MOMENT

What we need is for some people to USE THE TRADE PORTAL.

version 1.2.4 UI and 1.3.5 core the trade portal is functional. There is never any risk of loss, so we simply need people to put some BTC in their local Qortal BTC wallet, and use the trade portal to pick up some of these EXTREMELY LOW PRICE orders. (which they will be very happy about in the future.) so we should focus on that, and a bit more marketing and information.

For those that doesnt know, you can use the trading bot on discord. Works really great and you can indeed buy/sell fractions and not the entire lump as you do in the trading portal. Just a tips Smiley

Hi to all.
Check out this How-to Guide for rebuilding your database. If you started with Qortal when Genesis launched, your database may be over 30 GB. Here is guide for rebuilding your database with latest available core version. Database will be around 10 GB after rebuild. Also, you can see how to add minting account.
