I think to quit gambling, it is important to find a positive activity to replace the time and energy previously spent on gambling. Find satisfaction in activities that promote development, such as sports, learning new skills or developing intellectual interests.
Let the changes be challenging, but only with effort can you succeed and enjoy a fulfilling and creative life.
Factual, when the mind is preoccupied by positive things you will find no time for gambling. Apart from finding positive activities to occupy the mind, the victim of gambling addiction also needs to relocate to a new environment.
Staying in the old environment where they have gambling gang will not alleviate the situation. Although, they could bet online but they will no longer have motivators.
This is also an important part of the fight against gambling addiction. Changing your social circle allows you to get out of an environment that is dragging you down. In a new environment, a former gambler can make new acquaintances who will not encourage the desire to gamble. I think it's important to surround yourself with people who support your drive to overcome addiction.

There are some people that you can't ask them to come live with you because you want to help them battle their gambling addiction, it depends on their age and if they are still very young it could be possible, gambling addictions are also on different levels, someone who was influenced by friends is different from someone who was born in a family of gamblers, the battle to stop their addictions will be different and more harder too.

I have a brother (just family friend) who mingled with these type of friends from a very small age around 8 years old till 24yrs old and now that he is an addict we are forced to change his location and get him a job and thins went on for two years and one day he just vanished, we thought something bad happened to him so we headed to the police station, to cut my story short, he went back to that state to get back with his friends and all the money he had gathered for the past years was wasted on gambling, not too long he was shot dead by cultists, that's when we knew he was a member of the evil fraternity all along.

Some addictions can be stopped by the person if they are determined to stop it themselves, in this world, so many people don't even know where they belong, they don't know what they want in life, they are just among the living is all.

Maybe in some cases, but generally, addiction is not a genetic problem, and someone with a very simple life can have a child who might become an addict of maybe gambling or anything else. The main thing that matters in this is the environment they are raised in, and the people they are friends with or see around them all the time. A child who doesn't see things like alcohol, drugs, or gambling, for their entire life until they are young and mature, would never be vulnerable to them.
Gambling addiction has nothing to do with genetics. The gamblers personality is what determines if he is vulnerable or not. A father can be a degenerate gamblers but his sons may grow to be very restrictive. Because someone's father is a gambling addict doesn't mean that he will be an addict too. Probably, he will get the lesson from what he has seen and will never try to gamble because he knows the consequences.

There are several studies that gambling can be inherited from father to child. In one of the article I read, it was stated that since genes is passed down from parent to child, the possibility of a kid inheriting the parent's gambling addiction is quite possible.  It is more explained in this article[1].  I don't deny the possibility of a kid developing a resistance to gambling after experiencing the negative effect of having a degenerative gambler parents but we can't also deny the study about kids inheriting their parents gambling behavior.

Quote
Considering how genetics can make some individuals predisposed to developing an addiction, it makes sense to question whether compulsive gambling could be hereditary. With recent medical research looking more into the genetic influence on addiction, one study analyzes how specific genes can affect how likely an individual is to develop a gambling disorder.

A lot depends on the genes of the parents. You can be very vulnerable to gambling and it will be extremely difficult to get out of it. And for some, on the contrary, it's easy. I was close to starting to lose exponentially, but I stopped in time and ended it more than 5 years ago.

A few days ago I came across a youtube channel in which people tell their real stories about gambling that ruined their lives. I'll probably learn from their mistakes. If someone has a strong addiction, look, this will help you.

But on the other hand, a child who sees all these things from their initial days will be more likely to get indulged in these things and will surely be too vulnerable to addictions such as gambling or alcohol or any other dangerous stuff because they've been living through them all their lives.

It's literally the environment that creates these problematic gamblers in our society. if they grow up in an environment wherein they see gambling as normal, and literally everyone around them is making it seem like it's okay to be involved in gambling even if it already affects you in a negative way. As a child, it's extremely important to be exposed in an environment that is not going to turn into something that is negative when you grow up. It is the parents' duty to keep their kids out of the behaviors and habits that could potentially ruin them as they grow up.

Everybody can decide by himself is gambling good or bad for him. I don`t have problems with gambling, so i don`t want to quit. It is nice way to relax for small money. Of course, someone, who has problems with gambling must be happy of quit, but i don`t think that it must be a decision for everyone.
PS. If you have no problems with gambling - you can stop or start it any moment.

It should be so, that everyone can decide for himself whether gambling is good or bad for him. at least before we do a gambling session, the first thing we have to realize is that gambling carries a sizable risk. and the most common risk is, we lose during a gambling session. by knowing this, a person needs to consider, if the money he is going to bet can just disappear. even the potential to lose in one round, regardless of the type of game. so it all comes back to the gamblers themselves, how they define gambling itself. if it is more detrimental, then gambling is no longer fun. however, if it's a great way to relax with a little cash in between after a tiring work routine, we can take that from the positive side. if you lose, remember that gambling is very risky. if it wins, consider it a bonus from the fun part. Unfortunately, most gamblers are stuck with their own thoughts. in most cases, they do it to get rich in a short time. which in the end, they become addicts and no longer enjoy every fun gambling session.

Everybody should not quit gambling because they hate it. Gambling is not a profession; it's not an ideal means of making money. Whoever gambles for fun will not think of quitting. Even those who see it as a means of earning money will not stop gambling because they believe that's what can fetch them quick cash. The least likely people to quit gambling are those who have become so addicted to it that they are doing crazy things (like picking pockets, borrowing money, etc.) just to gamble, but it's even more difficult to convince an addict to stop gambling.

Bitter truth.
No one will easily stop gambling because someone else don't like it, there are people who have been disowned by their families  because of gambling and Invariably this persons abandoned by their family choosed gambling over their families and that's a clear sign of how addictive gambling can be and it's  not ending anything soon.
Alot of people take gambling beyond fun and there are people who live their lives from winnings from gambling and it will definitely  for such persons  to quit gambling.
Irrespective  of the class of gamblers we fall, it is always difficult to quit gambling  knowing  fully well that it can fetch us money without much physical effort.

For the fact that w person does not like gambling does not mean that it is bad. Everyone knows what is good for them and even though we don't like what they do or how they do things, we can always leave that to them since it's not our concern. Gambling is what some persons are using to feed there family and pay there bills so we don't have to discriminate that. Since we all have different source of income that is not an illegal source, it will be better for us to be a gambler and keep earning from what we do than to try and earn money in an illegal ways.
There are some who are relying too much in gambling and yes we cannot blame them and they will just realize it once they already lose the money and start looking for a money to feed their family. Quitting is not easy but its possible, if you need help I'm sure there are someone who can help you with this, all you have to do is to commit yourself to free it from gambling. As long as you are doing legal things and be more responsible, there should be no problem but if you think there's a need to quit gambling, then do it.

But with the availability of online gambling, it is very hard for the environment to change the life of an individual when dealing with gambling addiction and unless the individual is ready to put away both computers and mobile devices that aid him access to the internet if not even though the ops surround themselves with few-cycle it will still remain hard to over the addiction since gambling is mostly done online and through devices. But in another aspect of addiction such that involves physical addiction such as alcohol or drug addiction can easily be tackled by changes in the environment.

This is the reason why quitting gambling addiction is harder than quitting another form of addiction gambling addiction can be dealt with properly when the individual involved is determined to quit at all means.

Quit gamble is really hard because there are a lot ways for the casino to advertise their sites, you might only want to watch a TV, but there's a gambling ads. You might only want to watch a youtube, but there's a gambling ads. You might only want to watch your favorite sport, there's a gambling ads. You might want to browse to finish your homework or play a video game, but there's a gambling ads.

In short gambling is everywhere, in order to stop it is stop all the possibility to reach gambling ads which is almost impossible.

I don't think it has much to do with the advertisement casinos do on social media, internet and in real life. For example, There are big franchises of fast food like Macdonalds and Burger King and soft drinks like Coca Cola, companies which give much importance to their ads and spend much money on them to appear around the world, and yet they won't force people to drink burgers or drink coke.

I understand it could be problematic for a person suffering from addiction to see those ads, but in the end we are the ones who decide what to do, ads are just about letting people know the existence of a good or service.

Exactly! Ads are like those megaphones shouting, "Hey, check out this cool stuff!" They ain't twisting our arms or anything. We're the ones in control, deciding how we wanna react. Some folks are more swayed by persuasive tricks, and that's when ads work their magic. But let's face it, the impact of ads can totally depend on the situation and the people they're targeting. For example, when I see ads for some medicines or medical devices, they won't exactly make me whip out my wallet. But the same can't be said for older folks who have health issues; it's easier to convince them that these products might be helpful. It's the same with gambling ads, they work like a charm on people who are already inclined towards gambling or are easily swayed by the allure of fast money.

Yes having a suitable replacement makes everything worth it because if you leave an addiction in a vacuum it means you may slide back to it but if there is a replacement it becomes hard for the addict to slide back since he/she will be engaged in more active and pleasurable activities that will keep the mind away from gambling.
Focus on other things can be a big help and having someone by your side who pushes you to change your life style are even more possible. Quitting gambling addiction is not easy, it takes a lot of sacrifices as well but it is more worth it. There’s still a ways to quit gambling, don’t just lose your hope. Gambling can be more addicting if you gamble careless so make sure to be more responsible.
It's not as easy as we imagine and maybe if we were in their position we would definitely feel very tormented by gambling addiction but it's hard to stop.
The most important way is to approach the family because family is the main helper for gambling addicts to recover from their addiction.
But the important factor is that the addict must admit that if he is addicted and wants to stop, this will be much easier.

Gambling addicts know they are addicted to it by themselves, but they do not tell anyone or admit it; this is like no criminal admitting their crime unless found guilty. They can't control their emotions, as well as their greed, because the mind of an addict really wants to play and win money, and if they lose, the problem starts, like they keep chasing their losses. No matter how we tell them to stop, they will still continue, so it is better to ask for support from professionals. To those who are not addicted to gambling like us, we should be thankful and cautious at the same time, like monitoring our playing time and how we react so that we can prevent becoming addicted to it.
Ambition has defeated everything and most gambling addicts have a weak mentality and are psychologically easily provoked, therefore even though defeat always dominates they will still return to it with high hope and confidence and in the end defeat will come again. I admit that I am an active gambler but not too addicted. I feel that it is indeed difficult to get out of the gambling zone, because the curiosity of winning always haunts my mind. I'm sure most of them won't be able to if they stop gambling completely, but for that rest I think they can do it. That's a little better than spending all your time just to gamble.

Boys. It is time to quit gamble. I created a topic about taking gambling as a major income or not and fought a lot of kind people who held an opposite point. I own them a truly apology. I am sorry. No matter who you are, gambling is only for fun. Never take it as income at anytime. If you are still gambling, you should quit now. If you cannot quit by yourself, there are so many channels to help you. Even you can talk to me. I will do my best to help you.

Just some chemical reaction happened in my mind today, I get the point at that moment. Gambling for income is totally wrong and toxic for spirit and body. You will never be successful in that way. But I like gamble is still the fact and it will never change if doing nothing. So, why not open a stream and show it to all people who have interest on that. Let me prove how hard or easy to quit gamble. I will only gamble the affordable fund only. Maybe less. I am streaming 24/7. If some software problems disrupt, I will fix that except sleeping time.

Quit gambling now!

If you decide to quit gamble or take gamble as entertainment only, welcome to join me.

I hate gamble!

Update 1
Boys. You can't imagine how relax I am when decide to quit gamble. Here is the way. I will stream all my gambling behavior with recording. No stream No gamble. If you are going through the same situation, join me. You will obtain a new life.

What's with people in this forum dialing everything to 11 and taking radical stances over everything? Can't we just all be partial? You literally could still gamble and have fun without ever thinking of it as a source of income, so what makes you think that ditching it is the great answer, I mean talking about this makes me sound like an addict lmao but there's no other way we could drive the point any more. All of it boils down to what you really want to get out of your gambling habits. If all you want is an hour or two of fun and nothing more then go for it, if you're seeing gambling as a way for you to earn money that's where the problem starts. You don't have to go full ballistic in here saying that everyone should quit gambling.

Happy for you though, you found out the problem and cut the head of the snake as fast as possible, perhaps gambling just isn't for you and that's okay.

I suppose you are right but the problem is that most gambling addict never actually admit to themselves the truth that their habit are actually causing problems for them. Gambling is actually quite fun and easy to control if you have actually have set principles for yourself concerning your gambling habit and again one major contributory that can lead every gambler to become an addict is the will to keep chasing your losses which actually is triggered by HUMAN GREED.

Gambling addicts know they are addicted to it by themselves, but they do not tell anyone or admit it; this is like no criminal admitting their crime unless found guilty. Gambling should never be for income purposes and it will never be. The house will always win or else there will be no more business to run.
Now, what can we do to make a little profit? Be wise. We know we can never win even if we run an auto bet the whole day, in fact, we are in the losing mode by doing that. Trust me, I've done it many times. Leave a bet in auto for 8 hours and I am sure it will stop with a zero balance in your wallet.

For me it's not about quitting, it's all about how we can discipline ourselves. Casino games are the most addictive of all games on betting sites. Sports betting on the other hand is not like that. Analysis is needed, we cannot just blindly bet because we think they will win, there will always be instances where the favorite could lose against the underdog.
IMHO, quitting is not really the best solution. Just switch over to something that will be more fun, not like casino games that are stressful.
