Gambling usually depends on the individual's own will. These traps can be avoided if you control yourself. The person with gambling addiction does not initially perceive the threat, since there is so much pleasure and interest. And when the gambler realizes that he is addicted, he already feels pain instead of joy, it turns out that this type of addiction is not so easy to deal with therefore learn to control yourself to avoid risks.
I understand that most people get into gambling with the intention of just looking for fun when they are bored or stressed from work, but the problem is that not many of them are able to just quit after doing it. Everyone will feel something where they will be tempted by some of the wins they have managed to get. Even though at first their goal was just to have fun, if they get a victory in a few trial games, I'm sure they will come back tomorrow to do it. Next they will face a sense of addiction. The self-control factor is indeed one of the best options in this matter, but unfortunately not many of them are able to do this. Because the shadow of a victory will always haunt them. I'd say that it would be very difficult for any gambler who wants to quit completely, but they can take a break and find some new work to add to their daily activities.

One might argue that the rush of gambling, the thrill of the unknown, is part of the allure. And that is something hard to tame with mere discipline. Hence, it's no surprise that despite their best intentions, many still fall into the trap.

They only fall into the trap if they failed to moderate or control themselves.  So a gambler in control of their activities will never fall into the trap of gambling addiction until they gave up on that control and succumb to the call of pleasure of gambling.
If you say the trap is still not right because gambling is a choice and no other party forces someone to gamble.
The biggest mistake is the gamblers themselves when they choose to enter into gambling but cannot control themselves properly.
All risks, whether addiction or losing large amounts of money, must be accepted and you cannot blame other people for these risks.

Those who live near Las Vegas must have good self-control because otherwise, they would go to the casinos and gamble more often than other people who live some distance or even far from Las Vegas. If they have good self-control, even though the aggressive environment forces them to play, they will not be tempted and will let offer after offer come to them. Moreover, this is a gamble where not everyone can get lucky when playing gambling. A person's attitude will determine whether he can decide to stop immediately or even continue playing gambling; it is indeed not easy to stop gambling. But we must be able to do it or we can experience gambling addiction.

For now we no longer need to be citizens of Vegas to always gamble. The easy access to online gambling will also have the same effect as those who live in Vegas. There is no need to give an example anymore, because from the growing online gambling activity, there are certainly many gamblers who live like in Vegas who always go to the casino all the time. The difference, is real and online media. just that. The effects of addiction will remain the same as those who fail to control themselves as people who live side by side with casinos in Vegas.

What other way to recognize a responsible gambler if not by discipline. When a gambler lacks the discipline to control his gambling habit that it then degenerate to addiction same can't easily quit or get out of it unless by same discipline

It is very important that a gambler should learn how to maintain a disciplined lifestyle in his gambling experience in general aspect, being disciplined will help him to know what to do at the right time and how to engage doing such without other things around him being affected, this may also include an effective time management, priority schedule, plans, monetary budget and doing other things that could help have an additional source of income without one being affected by the other.

If we wanna be responsible gamblers it calls for discipline, same with when we feel the need to quit discipline is still employed in doing so and not just about having something to distract or schedule yourself with order than gambling.

It takes a determination to make a decision on being disciplined because it's not that easy to achieve, if we want to be disciplined, then we will have to involve other additional means to help us cope with that kind of a lifestyle, if all efforts were applied towards this, there may be more positive indications for a gradual change.

Distracting or scheduling an activity that make you no have free time to gamble isn't enough too because during work, his mind want to gamble, during play a video game, his mind want to gamble etc anything he do, he's still want to gamble. It's need a good faith to quit gambling, similar like if you want to quit sex, quit drunk, quit drug, or quit smoking. Most of people can't able to quit, but there are many people successfully quit it.

Quit gambling is always possible based on the person's mindset. He himself need to prepare his mind and find an alternate to keep himself focused whenever there arises some thoughts about gambling.

A person trying to get out of gambling should have some scheduled plan. One cannot easily end it all of the sudden. Little by little need to take break from gambling, so that one gets the time to realise and end gambling than just prolonging the addiction.

Of course, you are right to some extent fM: in many cases, it depends more on someone's attitude than other factors. When that happens, gambling is not the only problem of these people, as it has more to do with the person's personality than external factors alone. But I believe that, let's say, good people, is at risk too if the environment aggressively force them to play; just imagine the sensorial stimulus in Las Vegas: it has to be difficult to live there while maintaining one's sanity.

Not only in Vegas but also in many other places in the world, economic factors may force one to try their luck in gambling and economic factors puts one into gambling that is the worse it can happen to that person, surely he will come back chasing losses which in turn will produce more lost amounts and also a huge risk of addiction.Even good people can fall into this as I know a bunch of them first hand and their life is not the same after venturing into gambling to solve some of their economic problems.

In Vegas is another thing, usually the ones who live there do not have the urge to gamble,it is all people who come from abroad who go gambling there most of the time.

Maybe most people who live there develop some kind of blindness or immunity to these stimulus? I can't imagine how they are able to do it, but it is like barmans and alcohol I guess: only a few get used to drinking, maybe because they are well aware of the effects on their clients.

Anyhow, I think that chances to get addicted are still higher for those who live there. It's just my intuition: it would be great to see real figures to check if there is any correlation.

There is something called "The Rose of Guadalupe" in these geographical area, these are stories that are hard to believe but they supposedly happen, it seems to me that many here collect stories of this type and then "spit" them out in a post, it is neither hard nor easy, it is a disease that people must accept.

If you want to stop playing you just do it and if you want to be there 24 hours you do it, it's about attitude before situations. It's not the game's fault, it's the individuals, a sick group that creates these false patterns, then, the story is: that because of the game they hit women or spend all the money, shit if you're a bad person go see a doctor/assistance.

        -  You are right, mate, if I win a large amount of money playing gambling, I will use it for someone who can also provide me with a source of income. Because it's only once in a while that you get a huge amount of money in a casino because you were lucky enough to win.

And it should also be that if the money runs out, stop and don't hang out at the casino, because for sure if you stay you will only be tempted to deposit again to play, discipline is needed in these situations and it can be said that you are also a responsible gambler if after all with this behavior.

Quit gambling is always possible based on the person's mindset. He himself need to prepare his mind and find an alternate to keep himself focused whenever there arises some thoughts about gambling.
In my experience have a friend trying to quit gambling, it is quite difficult to do itself because his mind already heavily contaminated and can't quit without a psychiatrist. He spends his money and time until 100% quits. So if someone feel hard to do itself, just try to ask your friend or family, I really sure they can help you to get over it. Do not do itself if you can't do it, because it could be a misstep and more be addicted.
Addictions like gambling are difficult to overcome. From your account, your friend had to fight hard to break this habit. His resilience is admirable, but each person's fight is unique. While its great that he had family and friends, we must also remember that not everyone does.

Its not weak to seek expert help in such instances. The person's determination to recover their life is shown. Its not a last resort, but a crucial first step to rehabilitation. Self-compassion and patience are needed here.

those who can walk out of the casino winning and try not to play again are only those who are lucky and are not addicted yet. most of the gamblers who get big wins are those who have been playing at the casino for a long time. and they will not be easy to get out of the casino even when they win or lose. that is the reality experienced by gamblers.
even after getting a big win, gamblers can withdraw and enjoy the win. but that won't make them come back to the casino to try their luck again.

You have a valid points mate but remember that it is about the attitude that will let you stay or out of the game, if you have this kind of greediness then even if you ar enot addicted yet you will not stand up the table unless you have earned amount that not easily can be taken.
meaning you will keep seeking for more and more.
but those who are not greed then even x2 of their money is more than enough to consider going out.
ands yes quitting gambling is not an easy task because we are mostly involving into gamble to seek luck making our life changing short term.
Gambling is a kind of addict like drug addiction. and it affects a person in such a way that it is not easy for a gambler to overcome this fucking addiction. Greed works extensively behind this. and greed controls a gambler in such a way that even if he manages to make 10x his amount in one day, he will not stop gambling even for that day. and this addiction will eventually destroy a gambler. and that happens all the time. so I would say that Quit gambling is not only difficult for gamblers but too much difficult and almost impossible

The main problem is what goals gambler has when he decide to gamble. And you`re right - the problem that lots of gamblers sure that they find a way to get easy money. I think that all had such feeling when got first big prize. But if the gambler can`t understand that it can be one time a year(for example) - he can lose all his money trying to repeat this win. And it is a problem. If the gambler visit the casino to spend some time and money - he willn`t have any problems with quit gambling - he doesn`t need it.
Gambling in the first place is all about making easy money, a person can be broke today and by tomorrow, he or she may become a millionaire, courtesy of gambling, though this happens rarely but if it does happen, that's easy money, for that type of business in this world is it possible to start with $1 and end up  making hundreds of thousands of dollars in return as profit? I don't think there is any aside buying a meme coin in crypto.
Yes, but the gambling is only an opportunity to become a millionaire, in the real world wins only casinos. You can spend all your money and get nothing as result, but if you`ll world hard it is possible to become millionaire, of course not with $1. I spend some time and money in gambling for rest and think that it is good decision for me.

if we gamble in a disciplined manner with a fixed amount and a fixed timeframe, we will be less likely to get addicted to gambling and even if we gamble for fun or to gain more value with our bankroll, if we stay in our limits, it will never be difficult for us to stop gambling if we ever need to.
“Discipline”, you say, But the question is, what exactly defines this so-called discipline in the realm of gambling? Setting a fixed amount and a fixed timeframe, while logical and practical, might not be a foolproof plan. If one thinks about it, even those who maintain "discipline" could end up spiralling into the vortex of addiction.

Yes there is always a possibility that a disciplined gambler will be hooked to gambling but that means this gambler has lost his self-discipline.  At the end of the day a person who control his gambling activity is less likely to become a gambling addict because he has this tool called control that can fight against the uncontrollable urge to gamble.

One might argue that the rush of gambling, the thrill of the unknown, is part of the allure. And that is something hard to tame with mere discipline. Hence, it's no surprise that despite their best intentions, many still fall into the trap.

But unfortunately, not a lot of people follow a discipline no matter how simple it might be, they tend to keep gambling and using all their money whether they are playing for fun or for profits, they don't realize what they are getting themselves into until they run into issues when they've lost everything they had.
Maybe the issue isn't a lack of discipline but rather a failure to comprehend the situation. Perhaps the best course of action would be to inform the public about the genuine dangers and consequences of compulsive gambling. That certainly would alter the playing field.
