How do I view it? I think it's the most retarded thing ever. The color of someones skin DOES NOT define them as a person, nor does it define their morals and values. Yes it is very much alive in my country. I am part of the majority and have never been oppressed in any way because of my race. However I see it all the time. If you are racist, you are scum.

Racism is the belief in the superiority of one race over another, which often results in discrimination and prejudice towards people based on their race or ethnicity.

People judge other people just to have some fun. They're making fun on them because they are different. But, do we really need to judge other people just to be happy? People must treat other people equally because God made us equally. Treat them as your brother and sisters. We are all equal, no one must be discriminated, we are one and we are the same.

Racism for me, it is an act of degrading someone’s dignity because of his/her race. In our country, racism are much known in terms of skin color. The Philippines is located near the equator, which means it is a tropical country. Tropical countries have a hot climate. Much of these countries collected most of the sunlight than the countries in the north and south hemisphere. So, we are in a tropical country, which means having a dark skin color is normal. But, nowadays, many of us are narrow-minded and judgmental. They make funny jokes in relation of someone’s skin color, regardless of what the person’s feeling. They will compare someone’s dark skin color to someone’s light skin color. They will degrade that person as long as they find their happiness through teasing someone. One day, I am looking forward to see those narrow-minded and judgmental people to be evaporated.

Racism is a terrible word for any sane person ... why do people pay attention to skin color, eyes cut and much more? we are all the children of our God, simply by his order we went to different continents and began to speak different languages, and at the very beginning we were one huge nation and nobody even thought of racism ... the nation, the color of my skin and the cut of the eyes, in any society there are people for whom it can be embarrassing, no one is immune from this. People let us live together, love each other.

Racist is a sensitive thing, it's because humans have their own views that make it look racist. whereas a difference can be understood easily without having to hurt each other, but some humans damage it by way of bring into conflict

I did experienced being discriminated. I'm an Asian and working in a call center industry. I once spoke to a customer and during our conversation, he got mad at me and discriminate me. I find it unacceptable because I did not deserve being humiliated at all, I can do what other people can. Race is not a measure of personality because we are equally created and treated by our Creator.

It is human tendency to associate with someone who looks and behaves like you. Other factors can include same language, religion, ideology and sexuality. And obviously, you would like to prove that your race is better than the others (and don't ever think that this is just limited to the whites).

Yes! and in addition,though i have not experienced any form of racial abuse,but i think it must be condemned by all and sundry in our various countries.
Racism does not allow for a collective contribution of its citizens, which is a critical component of a country’s development and success. If a class of people is not allowed to be educated, they cannot make important contributions to society in technological, economical, and medical arenas. The denial of quality education to certain groups of people only serves to obstruct the economic progress of a nation.
Racism destroys our morality. No matter what a person’s culture or religious belief, racism is based on hypocrisy. Let us join hand together to fight and totally remove it in our societies.

Racism is the belief that characteristics and abilities can be attributed to people simply on the basis of their race and that some racial groups are superior to others. Racism and discrimination have been used as powerful weapons encouraging fear or hatred of others in times of conflict and war, and even during economic downturns.
I never understood this to the fullest until I witnessed this in Germany where the black skin was scorned as though it were some awful thing. Racism creates tension, breeds conflict, slows production and progress. It needs to be stopped.

There are two big differences. Racism and moderate nationalism. People often confuse these concepts. Now for many people these are equivalent concepts. I do not agree with this. I am against racism (Russians, Americans, Chinese, Algeria's, South Africans etc they are all the same. and Hitler didn't love all of us)! But I am for moderate nationalism!
I also like jokes about the difference between people on their differences. I believe that on our planet many nationalities, people with different habits so it is perfectly. And you can do jokes on this. But there must always be a line that can not be crossed! As in the cartoon south park 16 season 09 series. Where people have dropped the bar, and James Cameron raises the bar of social level. Unfortunately, people often either do not understand the where the bar. Or vice versa. People very tolerants and are afraid that everyone will think about racism, and they allow visitors people without concept of cultural differences to dictate one's terms in a foreign country. This is also very bad. So I'm for balance. Accordingly, I'm for moderate nationalism.

I don't why racism is still rampant up to these days. Why is it hard to understand that every race has their own customary thing and also different culture. When I was working outside of my country, I never had problems when it comes to dealing with other races. What I did was just I bare in my mind that I have to be a human and respect everyone as a human being. I even did a little research about the culture of some races that were present in that country that I worked with and so what happens is, they also treat me with respect and I never had any problems with anyone. It is just a relationship from a human to another human being, race is just a thing that makes everyone unique.

Racism is the most common problem. It exist even before and also it still existing today.. I think that there is no superior or inferior when it comes to race because God created us equal.. We cant measure the personality, talent and intelligence of one person base on his/her color..

In my understanding, racism is profiling. Every race in the world has a reputation that precedes them. Each races make their own reputation but ultimately it's the individual character that matters. I'm Asian, Caucasians look down at us initially but I'm not bothered. They will eventually adjust their view on the person they meet. I believe that those who are cry babies about racism deserves to be "victims" of racism. Again, we make our own reputation. However if my definition of racism is different from yours, disregard my explanation.

Racism is actually a dumb concept. We judge someone solely on their ethnicity and not at all about their merits as a person. We place unwarranted and unfair prejudice upon a whole race simply because one person made a bad impression on us. Racism also hinders us as a species to thrive and work together to fulfill a single goal. What we should do is to understand each other more and to actually make an effort to get to know them, and we should really not judge people at all.
