I'd say 30mh is really all we're going to get on the 480, but 2 of those for $400 getting 60mh @ 300W is still a pretty good deal. I'm considering picking 2 up, but want something to hold me over for the next month. I'm going to see if my microcenter has any 380's and if they'd be willing to take them back for the 480 when it launches.

It will be less than 30 MH/s. The memory bus is just 256bit, it is lower than the 512 used by the 390.

Memory is also a lot faster - 8 GB/s vs 5GB/s or some such bandwidth figure.
The increased speed should make up a lot for the narrower bus, and archetecture upgrades *might* make up the rest - or might make it worse - THAT is the real wild card we can't judge without a card in hand.

All indications are that it shoud solidly beat the 280/380 and probably the 280x but not sure vs. the 290 or 390.

i would guess a right estimate around 25MH at a lower wattage than their tdp, like it was for eveyr other gpu

you cna expect to maintain the same hash at 33% lower consumption, this only with etheruem because of the low memory usage

How much impact on performance can the new memory controller have with the same bus? With optimization it can be faster?

RX 480 is aimed at the "mainstream" segment.

Specs so far indicate it should fall somewhere inbetween the R9 380 and R9 380x, while eating less power.

If I had to guess based on ALL of the information that has shown up so far, I'd guess 24-30MH/s at 100-120 watts.

I also suspect availability is going to be a BIG issue for a while, though since it's Global Foundry not TSMC they shouldn't be affected by the earthquake a few months back that took the TSMC production offline for some weeks....

The price however, even if the card *IS* in very short supply, should put some serious pressure on the price of EXISTING card models - which is indirectly a bonus for us miners.

I've seen the other post of the 27mh on 1070.

There is zero evidence to backup his claim.

Until I see pictures or posts from a trusted user then I will remain suspicious.

his claim are backuped by genoil was tried the 1080 and it was done 24MH

and i don't see any reason why he should lie, for what? we would know the real value anyway before buying...

What do you guys think about 480?
Its only costs 200$ . And 2 480s beats 1080 .
1080 costs 600$ so instead of spending 600$ buy 2 480s for 400$.

Regards

im waiting someone review it, if the Rx 480 can reach 40mhs for etherum i will buy 50 vga Roll Eyes

The best guess right now is that the RX480 is not a standout card.

The reason I believe this is because you would think that all the GPU vendors would be flushing their inventory.

Looking at newegg, the only cards that have gotten cheap or there aren't many of them are the 270, 360, 370 series.

Contrast that with the 380 and 390 cards. The 380 card pricing has held pretty steady since Feb/Mar till now.

Consistent with observations made in the press, AMD will be addressing the portable/laptop market with their 14nm FF technology offering better graphics performance at lower power draws.

A guess is that the RX480 will be more along the lines of an improved 270,370 with an even lower TDP.

........... Where are you guys pulling these numbers from? Your asses? No one knows what speed these cards will reach.

before saying bullshit, you need to search more around here, there is an insider that did run the card and told us the value

not to mention the 1080 is already out....and 1070 is just 25% slower

Oh, I'm "say bullshit" am I? You've got a funny way of seeing things. An insider, eh? Yeah, OK. I'll wait to see real numbers from real people instead of throwing bullshit numbers around.

what is the equivalence of rx480 (280x 380 390 7970)  Huh ? Cooler blower is so loud. Embarrassed

The Nano scale step being so big, it would be close to r9 390x but using much less power.

Thank you for the clarification!  Smiley
