It's possible as you as said but you should take note that everyone aren't the same in the sense that with the way in which you can do bellow

1.How you do your own research
2.how you arrange your topics.( Write up)
3.Your experience in the crypto space differs( someone cannot give what he doesn't have).
So all this things also contribute to your success which some people lack.

You are pretty close to 10,000 merits, that is wonderful and impressive to say the least. There might not be another rank after legendary, but just accruing this amount of merits is worthy of admiration and the community really appreciates what users like yourself have done to get here and hence you deserve as much recognition as is possible. As for the race to 10k merits, from the looks of things you'll prolly be the third user to get there (as two other users have already achieved that feat) which is great, well done mate.

I felt the urge to update this thread with a belated update.
On April 15th, I got my 9,000th merit!

Thank you to everyone who supported me in this journey!

This is actually unbelievable, and I must say I recommend your passíon and zeal because you are now a case study which virtually all Newbies, Jr. Members and anyone striving to suçceed on this forum really needs to come learn how you were able to achieve this in just a period of 12 months. I'm just wondering how you must have felt haven achieved such a great milestone for such a short period of time. Happy, right??
Thou, actually it's worth the price because I always think this merit of a thing is one big thing very difficult to achieve, not knowing with hard work, determination, and dedication, it's actually possible to even get around 2900 merits in 12 months.
I always think when you post a thread that there is always at least 3 to 5 merits awaiting your post each day not until I made my first post, second and third, and got no merit, and then I knew merit was actually an exchange for value-added to the forum.

I try to contribute my own way, as I was lucky enough having something to share.

Everyone has something to give, this is the important part: just find your way to do so.

I took some efforts to translate your post into my local language. Although we do not have a sub-forum yet for your local community and we posted on a single thread. But I think this post will be helpful for many new members of my local community. My Translation: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.59846419

I have tried to keep the original context as much as possible to make it easy to understand for my local community.

Achieving 8k+ merits couldn't have come ordinarily without a demanding sacrifice in which you have made through thin and thick of busy schedules, this is an encouragement for we the upcoming members (low rank) to sit and build ourselves on a reputable manner through relentless efforts, showing commitment and trust. @fillipone you're a good example to the community of bitcointalk forum.

Just to put thing in context, I can’t see writing on this board as a “sacrifice”, nor I see maintaining the standard of my post as “demanding”.

I am just an ordinary pleb, who has the privilege to be part of this community. I try to contribute my own way, as I was lucky enough having something to share.

Everyone has something to give, this is the important part: just find your way to do so.

Legendary, shall I think as a feasible objective for next halving?
Having the joy of the protocol being enacted for yet another time, being promoted to Legendary and maybe a decent bull run!
Only 882 merits left!

When i first come across this thread Ranking up is possible! 2900 Merits earned in less than 12 months! My 11 Hints! i said to myself could it really be true? then i take a look into the OP profile and glance through some post and immediately i couldn't but see an amazing efforts worth deserving more than this, i must confess that am really moved by the click i view to my eye, I've seen a commitment to the forum deserving more than just merits and ranking up but also an award deserving.

You were at the success for attaining the "Sr. Member" rank when you created this thread and i ive seen alot of achievements that has attributed to this between 2018 that you joined the forum to 2019 that you became a Sr. Member, same applies from 2019 till date, i really appreciate that your standard is never compromised in your daily commitment to the forum, research and findings with quality posts, I can't but mention few, it a rare case you will come across a member that is not familiar with your username or being blessed by your post both on English and local board.

BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.
This is a great thread. I have seen the title several times and o thought it was it was a thread that was praising members. But I can boldly say that what is in side the thread is more than what the title said.
If it is possible this post can be pinned for everyone to read, especially new people.
I have been having this trouble inside me to give a correct definition of a quality post but was finding it difficult. But as I was reading the OP I saw a perfect definition of a quality post. This is it below;
Quote
It’s all about the knowledge. Try to think about merits as a knowledge exchange: you give merit when you learn something new, you get merit when you teach something new, or you make other people think about something old in a new way
From the above, we can say that a quality post is a post that teaches someone a new thing or a post that makes people think about old things in a new way.

Your achievements speaks volume, just the same way the tips are really understanding, I've read several tips on how to make good quality posts for the purpose of earning merit, but I've never read one so detailed, indepth and educating as this.
This is my first time on this thread, and after I read your achievements, I was all "wow" and wanted to leave cus I felt the post was too long to read, but then, I changed my mind, relaxed and read everything, now, I realized how stupid my decision not to read all would have been.
I've not only learnt, am also very motivated right now, and am saving this as my "go to" thread for anytime I need to remind myself how to make a good post.

Thank you fillipone, you are indeed a great mentor.

Quoting the whole message to answer only a specific part below, or answer a few question all below the quoted text are bad practices.

I confess I've been a part of this kind of practice, and even though I aways felt it was wrong, (cus sometimes, the quoted part end up even bigger than my own answer  ) but I never really brought myself to the point of actually believing it was wrong, but all thanks to whatever lead me to this thread today.... Everything is changing.

This was my personal approach. It doesn’t mean everyone should replicate this. There are many ways to contribute to the forum!
Of course, especially if they really want to be knowledgeable users and make this forum a good place to start their crypto journey.

Honestly I'm not too sure how I can be useful in the long term in this forum especially about quality posts, contributions and other things that support the existing system to be better. But when we have a good cause in the long term, then the convenience of interacting with fellow contributors and other users who need help will make us excited to keep this contribution.

I have a free job [spam buster & cheater hunter sometimes] just to contribute positively to forum although I get intimidation sometimes because of it, but in the end it's something that has pushed me to stay motivated to be better ever since.

Now I see, it doesn't matter who registered first or how punctual you are online, it all depends on your good threads and how you carry others by teaching them and passing to them the knowledge in you.
Of course earning merits isn't all about when a user registered here,
Quite right, but you must admit, this is a very entertaining mini-game that stimulates to improve the quality of posts. Well, or at least increase the activity of users. In any case, I consider the effect of merit beneficial on this forum and community.

This got me emotional and motivated at the same time, these are useful information and they've have fueled my determination..
I am pretty sure that was the reason why this thread was created in the first place, to motivate others into putting in work/effort, i wish you goodluck on your journey.
"2900 Merits earned in less than 12 months!" - certainly an impressive result, seeing which want to repeat. Okay, I won't lie. Smiley If not repeated with ~3k merits, then at least with a small part of this it is quite possible. Undoubtedly, fillippone's journey motivates and I want to ask myself the question "why can't I repeat this?".

This was my personal approach. It doesn’t mean everyone should replicate this. There are many ways to contribute to the forum!
In no case should even try to replicate you or someone else. Everyone here should and will have their own path. Everyone has something that will be useful to this community and people will appreciate it. Need to be able to see it in yourself and share it.

This is exactly the reason why I created this thread: motivare each one of us to find her right way to contribute to the forum! This is doable!
I have recently begun the most difficult and long period of my journey, so your story will not be superfluous for me and I intend to draw new power from it. Thank you for that.

A magnificent achievement you have made in bitcointalk for someone to follow. I am astonished reading through your journey so far in btt. Your post and merits history are worth the level you are now(Legendary)
At the time of this post, you were at the rank of senior member but now you have elevated to legendary member. That's what consistent posting good post does.
Thanks for letting us know the step to follow to increase our merits counts. I will put mine into practice

You would do well in the academic field because anyone that can write lessons would also orally deliver them. Thank you very much.

I might, or I might not involved in academia!

Now I see, it doesn't matter who registered first or how punctual you are online, it all depends on your good threads and how you carry others by teaching them and passing to them the knowledge in you.
I would say this is community based forum not some old school where you need to be punctual as you could post anytime you wish to do so or learn about various things through useful threads at any time you feel comfortable to do so.

Yes time is not factor which will determine how many merits you will earn over the forum but your knowledge will definitely have the impact over it as it's the only way you will be writing quality posts and getting merits as reward from them. The both names you are talking about like @fillippone and @Ratimov have registered over the forum few years back only and have paved their way to the forum in best campaign like ChipMixer but it has become possible only due to their effective contributions on the forum and useful threads like this. They are among top 10 merit earners on the forum which is great thing.

Of course earning merits isn't all about when a user registered here, some users are more knowledgeable than others, but it doesn't mean such users just stumbled on the said knowledge by the way, it is instead a product of the hardwork and immense efforts they put into learning and growing.
Yes you can be a newbie over the forum but might have in depth knowledge about bitcoin like technical and non technical both and share your knowledge and experience with others here which can help you to gain merits. The perfect example of this is Discovery of the year @n0nce who is full member with 1880 merits at current and he had registered previous year only.So knowledge has no barrier and he has proven it.So the best is to focus on increasing your knowledge first and learn regularly new aspects of bitcoin to help others.

The more you know about Bitcoin and the forum, the more it becomes easier to earn merits; it is very obvious fillippone is very knowledgeable about both.
Undoubtedly he has given very detailed threads about various bitcoin related concepts and have good knowledge about it which is why he has ranked up on forum so fast.I have commented previously on this thread also you might be looking at his merit speed and journey but see he also has acquired and exchange lot of useful information over these years which has made this possible. So ranking up possible but with knowledge.

I have read about getting merits from different sources in this forum but this one is exception. It was written in a simple and understandable manner. What you have shared fillippone has not only enlightened but it has motivated me to study, learn and share. You would do well in the academic field because anyone that can write lessons would also orally deliver them. Thank you very much.
