Congrats. Although, I have not even known what Bitcointalk was when you posted this, but you are just one of the role models on this forum that people like me followed to achieve ranking up fast.

I first knew about Bitcoin before I joined this forum. In fact, I joined this forum because I wanted to know more about bitcoin, although the signature campaigns on this forum also motivated me, but yet I have to go beyond to know more about bitcoin. What I later noticed was that I was becoming better than before, my family and friends see me useful, asking questions about Bitcoin, like questions partaining to transactions and safety, which I have gained a lot from on this forum, members that post these quality posts are completely Bitcoin enthusiasts which you will completely know from the way they post. I later find myself posting more in Bitcoin boards, while altcoin boards is not that useful because what are mostly there are posts about coin pump and speculations. But what I mostly needed are on Bitcoin boards which are full of posts of life experiences, discussions partaining to security, safety and privacy. Even if I have altcoins, what I gained from security, safety and privacy of my Bitcoin on bitcoin boards on this forum is enough for me to perfectly hold altcoins of my choice without no probelm or attack.

Although, it is not necessary to be passionate about Bitcoin, but it really also helped me because Bitcoin has opened my eyes towards a lot I would still have been ignorant to. Also, Bitcoin price pumped, it is deflationary, it is an appreciative asset, yet a store of value even as it is still a speculative asset. If someone is not passionate about Bitcoin in this century, likely the person would have been so old to not knowing what are in vogue because those kind of people will most likely prefer the old ways.

Congratulations, it was an amazing journey so far, though is not easy but your words and interest of supporting the form are really encouraging. This caurage is one of the best caurage I can see because it was very priccise with the ambition of help the entire forum. I wish we will all take note of those words of encouragements it will really help us and make us have a great impact and contribute well to the forum

Of course, mileage can vary in terms of how much anyone is going to want to send merits for members involved in shitcoins or various scams.. or smoke and mirror projects..  but sure there are members who actually believe in the merits of various shitcoin projects and members will sometimes send merits if a member is able to explain some convoluted bullshit in a way that is a wee bit less convoluted, even if it still hardly makes any sense to some of us.. ..

and considering my own number of smerits sent out would surely be reduced if someone is either posting about shitcoins or has ways of talking about various projects in which s/he does not seem to understand what the fuck is bitcoin..  and the place of their shitcoin in the scheme of things.

I cannot recall coming across a thread that attempts to quantify the merit differences between topics.. but it seems to me that quite a few merit sources do get turned off when shitcoin talk exceeds a certain threshold.. so in that regard, there will be variance between members regarding how much shitcoin talk they are willing to tolerate before becoming uninspired in terms of hitting that send smerit button.

Well, being passionate about bitcoin definitely helps the cause.
Being passionate about something is key to learn about it and improve your knowledge.
Of course you can learn something you are not passionate about (I learnt latin at school, after all), but soon you will forget that.

Yes exactly all the members don't need to be passionate about the bitcoin and don't need to have goals like you but what best they can do is to contribute best out of their knowledge rather than making irrelevant posts as forum needs such members participation.When all members will contribute towards healthy discussion the and treat this as discussion forum not as source of income in their mind we will see the post quality being improvement drastically.Like you said exchange knowledge like what you know share with others members and learn in continuing phase and evolve yourself with the same.Then only you can rank up so work for them.Earn merits with your posts.

This pace can be managed by only such members who have control over the car or in other words who have specified knowledge and dedication and have experience for the same.The newbies trying to gain merits at the same speed without any prior knowledge of bitcoin or crypto market whether technical or non technical would not be able to kickstart the engine also and will lie with other dormant account who are just posting and not gained merits from long time.So just learn and work for it man.A little advice for you.

I have a true intellectual passion for bitcoin, and a given percentage of my brain is always thinking about it. This is why I am so consistent posting in the forum: It helps me reorganise the idea I constantly bump into.

But the point is: please exchange knowledge. You can learn a lot from the forum, but sooner or later, you'll be able to give back!

It is great motivation for all the members to see @fillippone growth on the forum and we all can learn a lot from him and implicate those things in our posting styles.But what most of the members see is that he has gained enough merits like on July 24 he posted that he has now received 6000 merits on his profile to look it like even number and now see he is at 6271 merits at this time of writing the post on 19 August which is 26 days ahead he has gained 271 merits.This is really fast and he is one of the top merit gainers.But the main point of concern is that he registered on the forum in 2018 and within 3 years he has reached that levels how? The merits were not airdropped to him or given as gifts but he has gained them with his effective posting skills and becoming an asset to the forum.See his post history and you will find that how much he has contributed to the forum and when you will read his posts you will find in depth knowledge of the threads he has created as he gives all the details related to that information with proofs which are good enough to gain merits.

Similarly he has made 120 threads with his registration on the bitcointalk in 2018 so you see it might seems that he has gained merits easily but he has worked for it by making effective contributions and being a helping hand for newbies providing useful information on many boards along with local boards.Above these he is top generous merit source on the forum and send many to other members.

We can also reach that level's if we are capable of it but we just need to acquire knowledge for the same and keep contributing in most effective manner which is the only way to gain merits ans the purpose of setting up this system by theymos.So give your time and you will see growth in your rank when you give the forum best you will definitely receive rewards for the same.It is open discussion forum and capable members can reach whatever levels they want.

So look at @fillipppone growth and try to learn from him and implement the same in your posting also.Rest he serves a great motivation for all of us.

I did not know that there is a website for analysis on merit. I just published here what I saw with my black and white eyes. And I was surprised to see so much.
Whatever it is, I am now waiting to see the new record for a streak of 54+ days.

I can barely see anything from the image except the green color of the fillippone merit history. If you like posting image, keep the appropriate size neither too small nor too big and remember not to let us have to use a magnifying glass.

If you want to know more about fillippon's history of merit, maybe you will be surprised by it.

Actually, I have been contributing to this forum for a streak of 44 days, as I have gained daily merits since June 30th. It's the second-longest current streak on the forum, after @Ratimov who si currently 10 days ahead of me at 54.
We are anyway very far from the forum record of 413.
The fact is that you probably put a time offset to your personal Look and Layout Preferences , so you are not seeing the official forum times.

After seeing this topic i visited the merit summary of fillippone.


I saw the history of his received merit in August. Only on August 3 he did not receive any merit. He has received merit on all other days. That means he is contributing to the forum every day and there are very few contributor like him in the forum. If he earn merit in this way, it will not take much time to surpass LoyceV.

I just discovered this thread and it does nothing but motivate me. Yesterday I realized that of the merits I have earned, more than half have been in the last 120 days.

I doubt I'll ever reach half of fillippone's level, who if it weren't for the fact that he registered three years later than LoyceV, would probably be competing with him to be number 1 in terms of merit earned, but I do believe I can do better and better.

This is nothing less than great.
Your chronicle is very inspiring, it didn't end there, you also detailed steps for lower ranking members not to only gain merits put to excel in our individual capabilities.
Surely, every low ranking member deserves to read this thread.
I went through your interview, from your responses, you weren't that much technical and not that interested in the money version of the system when you started. This could be seen when you said you weren't involved in any projects. Yet, you soared your way high in the forum.

Round numbers are not going to last long, it will be better if we have merit lock button so that we can enjoy our achievement for a while before someone ruins it with merit rain.
