@MickGhee:

Would appreciate if you would stop making judgment calls over a sequence of events that you seem to have gotten all wrong.
Again, I exchanged a couple of PMs with the devs, in an attempt of negotiating a bounty to make the GPU miner open sourced. The devs did not agree to as little as trusting that I had a working miner, regardless of my attempts to exhibit whatever proof was asked of me. They could have simply put on escrow an agreed upon value, to be released upon code review.

To the arm-and-leg greed and claims of extortion: re-reading the IRC chat had me realize that I did fail the math when asked about it this morning. I calculated that to earn the same, I'd need the amount from sales to refund the buyers, and again the same value to open source it (which would make me earn twice as much). This was not intentional, and with that, I inadvertently doubled up the BTC cost on that chat. I blame the lack of coffee as I had just waken up, believe what you will.

Ultimately, the "unreasonable demand" that you're seeing, misrepresents my initial offer to the dev team, which they had ample time to agree upon. Should you insist on making false claims, I will post the full sequence of PMs for clarity. The time I've wasted on this by now, is hardly worth any returns I'd ever possibly have out of it, so I kindly ask that you take it easy.

Best of luck.

While I confirm the words on the IRC paste just posted, I do not appreciate the clear dump of what was a private chat exchange.
I'm a serious person anyhow, no more private miner sales, I would appreciate people stop sending me PMs.

I would have much preferred agreeing on a bounty to make the miner open source.
I think it was pretty clear that I took various efforts to that purpose. Unfortunately, it did not work out.

To those that are worried that GPU miners will suck out the value on this coin: The GPU miner on the 750 ti, has about 5x the performance of a desktop i7. While it earns decent profits, it is hardly world shattering. There's people running higher gains on CPU due to 0 electricity costs, mining early, botnets, etc.

I've got a busy day ahead, so will not be posting further here for a while. Cheers.

I don't understand why selling miner to a few people, instead giving it away to the community... is so much anti-decentralization and anti-opensource/community...
can be better to make it opensource and it can give strength to the coin

I know that most are after quick and big as possible profits. crypto currency is more than that... we suppose to takeover the world ! together.. Smiley

its not what he did its how he rubbed it in our face and 5 btc jesus christ  thats a lot for not even the good cards

i was mad at dev for not leveling the field before i saw how unreasonable the demand was  now i can see he is very smart and deserves credit for not being a sucker

As you said in the irc channel you are nothing more than an instigater and I see what you mean.

You also stated there it was unfair for the top people to have so much hash and you don't.

As I said if they are willing to pay for cpu servers then they deserve to get what they get. It is not their fault that they are getting more than you.

You also seen where that chat stated that the price was a lot lower on the first offer and they (dev) refused to believe one exited because they that they had something "foolproof". At least he was willing to try and recompensate the people who brought it.

As I said in chat. I was lucky and got in at the beginning. Sure there was a few forks but it leveled out and took time. Now you sound like those who bitched about a relaunch because they could not get their wallets to sync.

I'll just take you for your word that you are nothing but an instigator.

Look at the positive - the dev seems legit and honest. With a committed dev he can make changes to adapt to the environment eg make the algo more difficult etc. The coin rewards for phase one is almost at the low point. There will then be a while before it goes up again and that time can be used to i"fix" the issue.

The fact that myagui was a party crasher does not mean that the party cannot continue. It is not the end of the world. The playing field will be leveled more during the low reward phase during which either either better anti-GPU measures can be implemented or the GPUminer can be made available to the community for phase 2.

woot dude u always try to be a good guy fuck yea we eed more positive helpful people like u and we all prosper

I would like to hear a statement by the dev himself regarding this matter...

Look for big dumps today coming off those guys with GPU miners.

If Bittrex is staking its wallet (and I can't see why they wouldn't, unless they hate money) the huge dumps will come from them, not GPU miners. They have no reason to hold any coin, they will probably autosell whatever they are staking.
bittrex is one of the few places i can say has a very strict polcy of NOT STAKING no one would trade there if they saw the trex wallet mint in the chain

i feel bad for dev whose otherwise awesome coin got rekt by one greedy guy

another example of greedy people doing everything they can to kill a good thing

u cant be happy knowing u are smart enough to gain an advantage and just profit from being one of the biggest rigs  (u woulda done very  well if u did)
u say hey ill charge an arm and a leg to a few farms i know are greedy enough to keep it to themselves
then u decide hey why not blackmail the dev  (when the big rewards have been taken by u and your friends )  when that fails... hey ill just post right in the thread and say i have sold it but none of you real supporters can buy it  to try to punish the dev for not being your victim and try to kill the good momentum we are building
man what sucks is u started here as a good person who helped projects ( i see where u have done good things) so all the big coins and the other money wasnt enough to keep u happy (u prolly dumped your coins as you were trying to strong arm the dev) i hope the 4 people u claim got the miner dont think they were the only ones
when asked if the miner works you said i wouldnt ruin my rep for a few btc
well i lost respect for u  and im sure others have too

you had an opprtunity to rape the coin THEN give the miner when rewards dropped and u woulda been a hero with many valuable coins and much love from the coin heads

instead u tried to squeeze every penny from every angle u could

now everyone knows
Now can all see how you scammers work  Grin

how to stake, and how much i can make from staking if i have 10k coins ? please

Currently stakes are 60 coins per block. The 10k example was an arbitrary reference. Buy what you can afford but at the moment 10k should yield about 1-2 blocks an hour @ 60 coins per block if you have the 10k broken up in several inputs with a decent avg coin age at the current netstakeweight. Take note though that there is an emission curve and coins become less as time goes on after which it will become more again later (refer OP). Also, block rewards are of a fixed size in line with the emission curve, meaning that if you hit a block with 1 coin or with 1000 coins the reward is of fixed size and not % based, currently 60 coins.

Is 1000 coin unspent output 1000x more likely to hit a block than a 1 coin unspent output?

a few posts ago, I posted the following results:

I also tried on amazon ec2 the new Intel Xeon E5-2676 v3 (Haswell) 2.4 GHz (40 vCPUs)!

Max speed is 190/200 hash! I expected much more!

about 5 hash for core (5x40 = 200), compared to 7,8 hash (8x8= about 55)  of my i7 4770!
and u paid what 60 bucks

Just goes to prove how amazing the crypto community is, GPU technology is still basically the same as what existed in 2013. Sergio Learner stated it shouldn't be much of a speedup:

https://bitslog.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/memohash-v0-3.pdf
The creator of the GPU miner stated each nvidia 750ti gets the speed of 4 CPU cores. It's not a coin killer, but unexpected.
Perhaps we can ask Mr. Lerner for some advice on how to harden the algo more for a hard fork...  Wink
https://twitter.com/sdlerner

if I 750ti does 4x cpu core, the 980ti would probobly run at 20 times the speed of a modern i7 with proper programming. You should chain some more algos and increase the buffer size. 2MB will fit the level2 cache of the gpu.

4x is not so much!
Consider also than someone could have ready for launch some Xeon for mining...

if i remember the screenshot right, then one 750ti performs like about 20cpu-cores (compared to a relatively fast cpu).
thats still not the same as with other algos, but what could a faster card like titan or 980ti do?

We're going to be moving everything except downloads to Github instead of Bitbucket,

Why is that? Anything wrong with Bitbucket? It's superior to Github in so many ways!
