Ripple is not a decentralized crypto like bitcoin rather it's a centralized one so it can never be like bitcoin. To compete bitcoin one must satisfy the principle of decentralization.
Ripple is not and will never be the next bitcoin for lots of reasons firstly ripple is not fully decentralized whioe bitcoin is fully decentralised secondly Ripple blockchain is not as strong as bitcoin's blockchain and ripple as a company is already having problems offline and legal issues but bitcoin never had such. bitcoins have by far the largest market cap of all cryptocurrencies and is by far the most popular cryptocurrency in the world the closest competition to bitcoin right now is ethereum and binance coin
Ripple is next ripple and Bitcoin is Bitcoin. Every project and coin is unique in its own sense and there are dozens of factors and situations effecting each and every project so we cannot just compare them. But if you really think Ripple can be the next BTC then I think Possible as possibility but very low in chances thats what i think.

My portforlio is about 80% XRP and 20% 0xMR and I'm doing well.
2021 is something of a "break out" year for most people post Covid (whenever that might be) so people are looking to expand their holdings with the popular crypto and have probably recalled coins such as Ripple and have decided to divert some fiat Ripple's way instead of to Bitcoin, or ETH along with the rest of their Fiat they intend to invest.
Apparently the Ripple team is not going to give up. They all make statements for their investors and give hope for the continuation of their activities. But if I were a potential client, I would not rush to conclusions, but wait for a real decision on their lawsuit. It can be anything good and bad, but I think we have to wait.

XRP has got potentials the way i see it and is a good investing opportunity but then, its far from being the next bitcoin. I would have considered Ethereum but then, non of the cryptocurrencies would attain the growth bitcoin has attained so far. So, having eyes on bitcoin growth as at now and views on XRP would be an exaggerated fact for these currencies and would be extremely difficult to contend with in the long run. A few weeks of growth is far less for a long term investment analysis.
As we all have seen ripple has been quite strong these past few days and with all that it has done over the past months compared to most other currencies and the launch of xrapid is actually starting to show in its price.

This proves one thing , that Ripple will never be the Next Bitcoin because Bitcoin will never face same case like what they did.

I think until February 22nd there will be no abrupt changes in the XRP, perhaps after the trial there will be a shift, but this is all very uncertain. I’m going over this currency.

A few weeks of growth is far less for a long term investment analysis.With the recent problem they are facing, I don't see the potential anymore, they are now battling the SEC and usually the chance of winning is very low so its investors will definitely get affected with this trial they are facing. Good luck to them, hopefully they'll be able to surpass this big problem as it could kill their project and many will regret investing in ripple.

I am quite sure that this is not the case. Ripple can't be the next bitcoin. Never. I wouldn’t compare them for anything, since it’s like sky and earth. Ripple can only be used for speculative purposes, don't store for a long time and get rid of it at the first advantageous opportunity. To do this successfully, you need to choose a suitable place.

No, not at all, if you look at the XRP market cap it could be it's higher than LTC, LINK. XRP still can not beat LTC, LINK, USDT. On the other side, ETH still fighting with BTC and I believe everybody knows about Ethereum. Then why people talk like this. In my opinion, Ripple will not next bitcoin, it's impossible.
Actually, whats happening is, XRP and ADA will skyrocket together, bottoms up 
Some traders group is causing this pump so be aware. There is nothing behind this like good news or something like this. You can get a decent profit, but if you buy when they are dumping you would be left as a bagholder.

on what basis does ripple compete with bitcoin ?. maybe in the past ripple still has the possibility to compete with bitcoin, but if you look at the current condition of ripple which is a lot of trouble, I think it will be impossible, even though ripple has risen again after winning the court , it still difficult for ripple
That only dream and that will never happen. Is that make sense if we are talking about the possibility for ripple to surpass bitcoin while at the same time ripple can't even surpass its old ATH? Dude, that's a big joke that comes from the ripple community and I think that they must try to predict based on the real data.
Some investors are aiming high and to say that it will never happen, I think that is completely wrong because we never know what will happen in the future. If we go back to the past when bitcoin was still almost worthless, would you believe that it will reach $40,000 in the future? I guess most people would not believe, what I'm trying to say is that development happens and if people appreciate it, they will invest which will create demands and you know what will happen next.
