Bitcoin is always Bitcoin. Ripple might grow high in its marketcap, and for that specific reason we can't state XRP to be the next bitcoin. More cryptocurrencies have promoted on their own, they're the next bitcoin. If we search those projects they aren't available on the coinmarketcap. This means those cryptocurrencies have gone out of usage. Every cryptocurrency have got its value and usage. In such a way XRP is good for transactions, through which we can expect massive progress and the same won't give it the position of bitcoin.

Ripple cannot be compared to Bitcoin, as it is not decentralized. And I don't think it will rise to $ 10, at least in the next few years. But it can grow to $ 2 next year. Ripple is in a very good situation now and it should grow until the end of the year.

As we all have seen ripple has been quite strong these past few days and with all that it has done over the past months compared to most other currencies and the launch of xrapid is actually starting to show in its price.
There is so much talk about ripple taking over bitcoin and being 10$ what are your thoughts on this?
Did you mean that Ripple will take the position of Bitcoin as the #1 cryptocurrency in the crypto market?  Ripple currently costs less than $1 and even reaching its ATH ($3.8 on Jan 04, 2018) is impossible.  It takes a very large adoption for Ripple to be able to shift the position of Ethereum and Bitcoin, and the problem at the moment is that not many people like Ripple even though the fees for each transaction are cheap..

I don't think so. Fundamentally ripple and btc are very much different from each other. Bitcoin is the first crypto currency. It's fully decentralised. Its normally use as a payment options and it has the largest marketcap. Almost half of the wholes markets marketcap. In other hand ripple is not a fully decentralised token. Cause it's mainly backed by institutionnal investors and banks. It's also big. Its use case in bank sectors. It's also very popular and has a big marketcap. But some people don't like it. Because it's not decentralised. It's hard for ripple to replace or compete bitcoin atleast at this moment of time.

if i'm not wrong xrp is the strongest centralized cryptocurrency in the market, but thats doesn't mean if xrp will be the next bitcoin my friend
i think its very impossible for xrp to taking over the bitcoin and the price will never touch about $10

I think it still takes a lot of time to show the expectations of XRP to catch up with the bitcoin price because bitcoin itself takes years with various problems and re-convince traders to continually try to invest in bitcoin every day to reach its peak price.

Ripple will never qualify to be the next Bitcoin when we have lots of scalable and decentralized projects. Bitcoin is bitcoin, and I don't think there is any other coin that can replace the next bitcoin even if it's Ripple, or any other coin.
The only thing making XRP big is it’s total market supply. Many of us hoping for the moon or relate with bitcoin which isn’t purpose of XRP.  It's suppose to be a stable medium of exchange as it has slow steady.
but XRP is not a stable asset. looks stable because it seems as if the movement looks slow, even when the bitcoin pump occurs XRP doesn't experience a big response. XRP is still very consistent and to compare it with my bitcoin we are still too far away even if we wait in the next 10 years.

do you digress? Ripple is not a future king or candidate for the next bitcoin,
it's very funny that someone says Ripple is the next bitcoin, XRP in my opinion is just an altcoin,
just like any other altcoin, if you believe in XRP don't expect to replace Bitcoin, but hope to fly to $ 15 and more.

Ripple is a great cryptocurrency and they have made a lot of achievements so far. I also like the fact that they can achieve their goal of working with several banks around the world, but I don't think that ripple is the next bitcoin. Bitcoin deserves its current position as number one. Bitcoin came first and when people talk about cryptocurrencies and decentralized payments, it's always Bitcoin because it was the first to make that name for itself.

Maybe everyone here already knows that Ripple and Bitcoin are very far from their position, because Bitcoin existed before all Altcoins were created, so there is no way Ripple can replace Bitcoin, maybe it's just that Ripple's transaction fees are very cheap and very fast to process Compared to transacting in Bitcoin, so it is a very good choice if you do frequent transactions and transfer very well using Ripple.

Ripple has a pretty good investment track record, but I have never seen it even close to the bitcoin level, besides that it is also centralized which makes people including me not really like it.

indeed the ripple ROI is still positive, and the increase has been 30x,
but the fate of people who buy at the price of $ 1 - $ 2 is of course very different,
and recently Ripple's price has also gone up, that's good, even though it hasn't reached the target I think it's good,
if you expect ripple to replace bitcoin, don't expect it

Agree, it is too far to imagine Ripple next Bitcoin. From the total supply and investor confidence, I think there is a difference. Investors will certainly choose Bitcoin because institutional investors have started investing while this has not happened in Ripple

ripple can never be compared to Bitcoin.
Yes, ripple and bitcoin have their own advantages and disadvantages, so I don't think we need to compare these two coins.
One of the reasons why these two coins don't need to be compared is because bitcoin is more suitable for storing asset value, while ripple is more suitable as an alternative to payment.

Nothing can replace bitcoin really, but we can say that ripple can replace ethereum if the XRP performances maintain better than ethereum. We can see significant growth  of ripple this days and maybe we can see more in few more weeks or months. I myself support XRP so it would be good if ripple goes to moon.

Ethereum on the 2nd rank and Ripple 4nd rank, the distance the two coins capitalization are more than $39 Billions.
Once the Ethereum 2.0 improvement is successfully launched and its main scalability issue is resolved, ripple will have no chance of surpassing ethereum.
Eth will remain in its position which is next to bitcoin.

Quite right. I believe that soon it will be necessary to discuss the issue of a possible competition between ethereum and bitcoin for 1st place, and in this struggle, the appearance of Ripple is not expected at all. Although I understand that Bitcoin and Ethereum have completely different functionality, I should admit that there are many advantages of Ethereum over Bitcoin.

I can’t even understand how ripple can bypass bitcoin, by what signs.  To the level of price or capitalization, ripple can never be compared to Bitcoin.  Ripple compares favorably with the speed and low cost of transactions.  However, a centralized cryptocurrency cannot be the leader of a decentralized cryptocurrency.  This is completely absurd.

Don't expect Ripple to be the next Bitcoin, Ripple is a very risky project,
there is a lot of controversy there, about the supply they control, etc., so it's better to think for the medium term,
don't think about being the next bitcoin, XRP doesn't deserve that yet.

It's true that controversies surround Ripple, Anyone who even compares XRP and BTC side by side is getting it wrong, BTC is king. XRP which is highly centralized can't be the next Bitcoin which showcases a true decentralized system. I understand Ripple has many achieved milestones over time, including their awesome products for cross-border payment enhancement, however it's still no match for BTC. There is nothing like the next bitcoin, anyone using that phrase need a rethink.

Of course, that's overwhelming thought. I've never seen a project that can compete with bitcoin. But, XRP is a good investment because despite people’s hate for it, as it's called bankers coin, it's the quickest coin I've ever utilized and genuinely simple to trade, since it doesn't move a ton however it's predictable.
