The project cannot be considered decentralized, but the project has many big investors, which is every day more and more. Large banks are using this technology and invest in it. I believe in the project in the long term.

I always told my friends invest stellar lumens(XLM) rather than ripple. For no reason i never trust ripple i don't know why. My only mistake is i bought XLM at highest level but it is not important for me because i think it will be minimum 3$ in the end of 2018. I will hold it until 2019 and advice you the same thing.

Ripple is not a real altcoin as this is the currency that is centralized. I mean XRP sure. As soon as many banks agree to work with this coin, and they show their interest, Ripple will grow. I do not think any reason to call it scam, but sure this is not my favorite.
