. As far as I know ( I know very little) every single tournament has a 're-buy' feature which is far worse than giving a larger starting stack (late reg/bingo/buying just before ITM).
Also, it is solving the problem of few players as we can count extra wagers as multiple entries which will lead to a bigger prize pool. Consider the below scenarios and choose one;
1. Total entries; 50, prize pool; $1000 (everyone gets the same starting stack.)
2. Total entries; 50 but one player wagered $100 instead of $50 (who will gamble any way on another platform) now he gets double the starting stack but the total prize pool gets to
2000$ which will benefit every single player.
And it is not that anyone is getting special treatment there is a cap and everyone is free to wager the same amount thus it is perfectly equal.
And if we go by your argument there should be no buy-in at all as it will help only people with the means to buy-in.Regarding your suggestion of separating high rollers to have a bigger tournament, we have already seen the result in the previous tournament (which never took place) where wagering requirements were $5000 or more.
No, this is completely wrong as I am a big friend of skin in the game and this is by the way the reason why I am a major supporter of Bitcoin and its POW mechanism.
Skin in the game is important, but when the game comes down to more money beating less money, then we can stop playing poker altogether. If someone has 5 times the chips of others and plays reasonably well, the chance for a skilled poker player with only 1 stack essentially narrows further and further down to pure luck.
However, if extra wagers are counted as extra participants and thereby increase the prize pool, then probabilities meet ITM considerations and it can make sense.
The high roller requirements last time I think were pretty much out of reach for 99% of the people. Can't recall exactly, but I think it was $50,000 per month and some status on some network and I think something else.
It is not true that every single tournament has a re-buy feature. I don't know whether you have ever played on Pokerstars or GGPoker, but there is all kinds of tournaments. You choose as you please.
Whether Royse would be convinced of higher wagering volume meaning more entries (1 entry per $50), I don't whether this has ever been a topic far, but I don't believe so.
