Potentially Storm v The Sharks as well as The Sea Eagles v The Titans could be
close enough games. The Rabbitohs need to win to keep climbing after a bad
start to the season.

6 from 8 is fine, its + Satoshis in the wallet. I'm not confident betting on the
lower placed teams, I'm concentrating on those inside the top 8.

Couple of close ones I recon coming up in R6, Storm v Sharks, Sea Eagles v Titans
and Roosters v Warriors. I'll check the odds later and place my bets.

Although the Raiders are building from week to week, I feel the Cowboys may just pull something out of the bag to keep them in contention.  The Bulldogs will chase the Rabbitohs around, but they won't be able to catch them.  The Broncos did their dough last round and I'd be surprised if they were to beat the top placed Panthers.  Similarly, the Sea Eagles are starting to soar all the while the Titans are proving they are anything but.  The Sharks won't be able to ride out the Storm while the Roosters will have something to crow about (should be a close game).

The Knights will slay the Dragons (never gets old saying that) while the Paramatta Ells will fax their game play to the Wests' Tigers who will then languish on seven losses this season in the first six rounds.

 

Half time in the NRL game between The Bulldogs and The Panthers, scoreline 6-20.
The Panthers will win this unless something drastic happens which I will be

I'm happy enough with my picks from the weekends first leg of the final round of 16
in the European Rugby Championship, All 4 won so Its a very Green weekend for my
rugby bets.

Re: The Broncos - yea face palm allright, I had The Roosters to win but I was
thinking it wasnt going to be as close as it was, especially at HT. My thinking was/is that
The Broncos are not going too overtake last years finalists in the space of 1 or two seasons.
The same goes for last years finalists, I cant see them falling short this year. OK there
might be a bit of swapping around the 7, 8, 9 and 10th spots.

The Sea Eagles had a great game, I didnt expect that either but didnt feel confident
betting with or against them.

You'd have to face palm if you backed the Broncos who led the Roosters 10 - 0 at half time then, after leading during the second half, still managed to loose 20 - 24 to the Roosters who move into fifth place on the points table.  The Broncos might have one or two moments of brilliance, but I wouldn't put any money on them for the remainder of this year.

Amazingly, the Sea Eagles have jumped from fifteenth place to sixth place with their third win out of five starts.

The other game last night between the Warriors and Cowboys was a tense affair - for at least the last twenty minutes the teams were tied at 24 - 24 then in the last two minutes, the Warriors attempted two one point field goals missing both times which forced the match into "golden point" over time.  After three minutes of play, the Warriors scored a one point field goal pushing them to 25 - 24 and winning the game.

Tonight the Raiders should be swept away by the Storm while the Rabbitohs should slay the Dragons.

With my 3 bets on the European Rugby Championship my first wager has resulted
in a win for Leinster in the first leg ^{of two} against Connacht. I listened
to this on the radio while driving and Connacht at home came close to winning this
game but its really hard to bet against Leinster at this stage of both the ERC and URC
competitions. Final score Connacht 21-26 Leinster.

I have a fourth bet on with the Exeter Chiefs to beat Munster. Munster will be hard
pressed away to the Chiefs being down a lot of key players ^{international players for Ireland}

Rugby Union

The United Rugby Championship is taking a break for 2 weeks but no break for the
teams involved in the European Rugby Championship or Heineken Champions Cup
because that takes over this coming weekend with the first round of 16. I'll be making
a few bets but not sure on who yet.

Big win by Storm and to hold The Bulldogs scoreless too, they take their spot
in #2 behind The Panthers.

Good win by The Eels too which brings them into 3rd. It will be hard to bet
against these 3 going forward.

I'm 3 from 4 in the NRL this round.

I'm also 2 from 3 in the URC

Its hard to see any team other than Leinster winning it outright at this stage .

Super Rugby Pacific Round 7

The Blues beat Moana Pasifika 32 - 19 in their game on Tuesday.  The Crusaders won over the Highlanders 17 - 14 while the Waratahs out played Fijian Drua 38 - 14 both games were on Friday.  Yesterday Blues won over Moana Pasifika 46 - 16 (from recollection, Tuesday's encounter was a catch up game after Moana Pasifika earlier had Covid related absences for most of their team) and in the late game last night, the Reds won over the Brumbies 21 - 7

On Friday, Fijiana Drua continued the winning streak over the NSW Waratahs Women 29 - 10 then on Saturday the Women's Red's team smashed the Rebels 55 - 5

I'm expecting the Hurricanes to win over the Chiefs this afternoon then the Women's Brumbies over the Western Force in the later game.

Rugby League


I'm now three from six for round four after all three teams I have money on yesterday lost out.  The Sea Eagles have now had their first win of the season  25 - 6 against the Raiders) and the Warriors are finding their way having beaten the Broncos 20 - 6.  The Roosters move to fourth spot on the ladder winning over third placed Cowboys 28 - 4.

For today's games I'm hopeful the Storm over the Bulldogs in the early game then the Ells will eat the Dragons who are languishing in fifteenth place on the ladder.

*edit* After 25 minutes the Storm leed the Bulldogs 12 - 0 after two quick tries and conversions.

Yes, it looks like the cream is rising to the top. The Roosters did a right job
on the Cowboys, 4-28. The strange one for me is the Rabbitohs in 14th spot.
They are at home next week to the Dragons, which they should win.

I had a win and a loss today in the URL Connacht won ^{not convincingly}
and Ulster were beaten well away to the Bulls 34-16, really thought it would be closer.

With ten minutes to go, the Broncos are down 6 - 16 against the Warriors - all three Qld teams seem to be playing a very patchy game this season - winning once, then tanking the next.

There are two more games today, the Sea Eagles Vs Raiders followed by the Cowboys Vs Roosters game in a couple of hours.

Going well Timelord as are The Panthers. I wonder If we were to just bet the same
amount on the Panthers in every round would we be up or down? going with my 20/20
vision last year would have been a successful one!

United Rugby Championship Round 15 started today with wins for the Cell C Sharks
against The Dragons 51 - 3 and Glasgow Warriors 33 against Zebre Parma 5.

I have 3 bets on for this round:

Connacht to win away to Benetton - I am hoping Connacht can get inside the top 8 to
progress to the QF's but have two tough draws ahead away in South Africa.

Ulster to win away to the Vodacom Bulls. They are not favourites for this one but
they ran the Stormers close last week So I'll go again with them.

And a All-Ireland game between 3rd place Munster and Top spot Leinster, I'm going
with Leinster who will face a hugely packed Thomond Park.

The Gold Coast Titans played as badly as the Wests' Tigers and the score was 2 - 2 until the 69th minute.  The game finished at 8 - 6 to the Titans.  The Titans move to seventh position, but there has only been their game in round four, so I expect they will drop out of the top ten by the end of the round.

Rugby League

Another weekend of tough games in Round 4 of the NRL for both The Panthers
against The Rabbitohs, I believe The Rabbitohs have put a stop to their losing but
still this weekend I have The Panthers to win a close match.

The Sharks and Knights pair off against each other, current 3rd and 4th place
on the ladder, another close one I suspect.

The Eels and Storm I believe should come through this round with wins and
secure their positions in the top of the ladder

I had 3 bets on Round 14 of the URC, Ulster to win away to the DHL Stormers but they
lost in a close match and had a disallowed try with about 5 minutes from the end,
final score 23-20.

I also had Glasgow Warriors to win away to Cardiff thinking Glasgow being 4th
on the table would easily overcome a bottom placed team, not the case, final score 32-28

Finally I had Leinster to beat Connacht, The home side Connacht had a man sent
off in the first half and the flood gates opened in the second half, score there: 8-45

So I'm 1 from 3

Here is the table after round 14. I still dont know how the imbalance in games played
is going to be resolved.

I expect Padifika Vs Blues to be a close game this week, Crusaders over the Highlanders and Reds over the Brumbies.  The Hurricanes might edge out the Chiefs while the Fijian Drua vs NSW Waratahs game I feel Fiji will surprise viewers with another win.

Rugby League.

Three from eight for round three.  Sea Eagles Captain Daly Cherry-Evans kicked a one point field goal to take the leed minutes from full time in a low scoring match.

The top six/eight are now:

Panthers, Sharks, Cowboys, Knights, Storm, Eels, Raiders and Broncos.  Only the Panthers have three wins from three starts.

The Mid four are Raiders, Broncos, Rabbitohs, Titans.

Then the bottom six are Bulldogs, Warriors, Roosters, Dragons, Sea Eagles and the Wests Tigers having lost all three matches.

Last Season the Broncos started out well, but weren't able to follow through, this season from what I've seen so far, all three Qld teams (Broncos, Titans & Cowboys) are giving strong performances.  Perhaps the Cowboys will make the semis.

Yea it looks like last years top 6 are taking their places in this years top six, ok its early days though.

Thats was some comeback by the Raiders from 22-4 down at the break, they must have got extra
Jaffa Cakes and a serious shot of belief.

A recap on my bets for round 3, I'm 3 from six but with only one team "The Penrith Panthers",
they have saved my bacon this round, I'm actually slightly up on the NRL R3>
