So Queensland deny New South Wales the 3 straight wins, I hope Timelord you had a  bet
on that? so what happened that they turned up ir was it that NSW had the series won?

Close game, 2 point win!

I sure did!  I got seven to one which covers the first two games losses and a little bit left over:

Unfortunately, France got the better of Australia the night before.

British and Irish Lions have a big test tonight in GAME 4 against South Africas A team
they have 11 of their world cup winning squad available for the game, should be a good
one. I want to put a bet on Lions but cant on Sportsbet

I haven't seen any bets made available, but I'll be sure to put one on if it comes up.

There was just one match in the Qld Cup that I've been able to put a bet on ... and it just happened to be the team that won!

The ABC radio announcer nearly fell out of the commentary box when Queensland scored a try early in the first half.

So far at half time in game three of the 2021 State of Origin the score is Qld 8 - 6 NSW - it's half time at the moment and the commentators have praised a "return to origin" playing.

I'm expecting the final score will be Qld 18 - 12 NSW (we'll know in another hour's time)

Well hopefully they can save that 3 match trouncing but I wouldnt
hav much faith in it judging on the last two games which were'nt
even close.

In the Lions Tour the GAME 3 result was:

Cell C Sharks 31 - 71 British & Irish Lions ::: Highlights: https://youtu.be/kFskngVNZR0

The teams were closely matched into the second half but after the
Sharks lost Jaden Hendrikse to a red card incident it was all one way traffic.

Great game, lots of scoring [obviously]

Game three of the NRL's State of Origin Series has been moved firstly from Melbourne to Newcastle and has now been moved yet again to the Gold Coast which means all three games are to be played in Queensland this year.  Hopefully, it'll give Qld the shot in the arm to win game three thus avoiding a three game trouncing by NSW.

State of Origin III moved to Gold Coast from Newcastle as NSW government bans crowd due to COVID-19 risk

State of Origin III will be played on the Gold Coast after the NSW government advised the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) it would not allow a major event to be held in Newcastle with a crowd.

Another big score by the Rabbitohs, easy win final score 46-18

The Lions tour is struggling to continue with all the COVID outbreaks and today sees
the 3rd match in the series, its a rematch against The Cell C Sharks because The Bulls who
were scheduled cannot play due to COVID.

The first big test is scheduled for next week, South Africa v Lions, hopefully that goes ahead.

I'm looking on Sportsbet but cannot see this listed, maybe it will be visible later?

Round 17 NRL picks for myself are:

Rabbitohs
Roosters
Storm
Panthers

Interestingly the team we like to slate The Broncos are favourites against Wests Tigers,
are they looking to make that late in the season winning streak @Timelord2067 mentioned before?

The Rabbitohs are leading 28 - 12 having just scored a try as I took this screen shot:

The Broncos win is more to do with the Dragons players who have been sidelined for a round (for a Covid related infringement) and some of the Wests' Tigers team being in the Qld side for this week's State of Origin game three.

Make that 30 -12 with 20 minutes game time remaining.

and I've corrected my post also, this weekends game in the Lions tour against the Bulls was to be the 3rd.

Today we had the 2nd game against The Sharks again a Lions win. Sharks 7 - 54 British & Irish Lions

Thats the second win of the tour. The Lions had to make changes for the match today
again because of COVID.

British and Irish Lions brush aside tour chaos and romp to big win over Sharks

I've corrected my above post due to the media having been talking about two breaches in the same news cast.  I mistook one venue (a luxury motel) as the venue for the Dragon's party, however the player held the party at their own home.  The Dragon's have cancelled their contract as well as the various fines by the NSW police and the NRL's integrity commission.

Oh, thats a bit reckless, nice fines for all there too.

Talking of COVID, the Lions tour to South Africa is under serious threat.
The game set for this weekend against The Bulls has been
postponed due to an outbreak on the home team.

Just today it is reported that there is a number of Springbok players who
tested positive and a second warm up game against Georgia has also
been cancelled because of COVID positive results.

will see 60,000 EURO 2021 fans storm into Wembley!

I wouldn't put any money on the Dragons this round given nearly all of the team have been suspended for one week for attending a party during Greater Sydney's ongoing Covid Lockdown.  Each player has been fined (IIRC) $50,000 AUD and eleven people at the party have now tested positive to covid.

*edit* the media were talking about two breaches in the same news cast.

Ha Ha, yes it was a BAD miss that last kick. It was a crucial moment in the game, it happens though.

Just when we thought it was going to be easy betting against The Broncos, along comes Kotoni Staggs and things change, they beat The Sharks 26-18.

So im 3 from 4 this weekend in the NRL, not bad.[/size]

I was beginning to think I just had a perfect round: and then three of my pics got turned upside down:  Five from eight didn't quite cover the losses in the three that didn't win.  (But it makes for a good story in any case)

Yes, the Storm clouds are definitely forming for some of the sides in the 2021 NRL Round 16 this week kicking off in a little over five hours time.

My calls for this week follow the same top eight over bottom eight - Storm, Dragons, Panthers (should be a great game with the Eels putting in a solid effort),  Raiders, Cowboys, Sharks.

The Sea Eagles and Rabbitohs are just about paying even money.

I got in early with a 6.98 on Qld in the third game of the State of Origin - the price has dropped to 4.96 for Qld.

Those misses happen, Ireland had it in this years Six Nations, last play and kicking
for a lineout against Wales, score was 21-16 to Wales....and the ball was kicked dead!

...

Yes, I heard most of the second half on the radio and it was definitely a close game.  The ABC commentators predicted the Panther's field goal around 90 seconds earlier when the score was 18 - 18 then nearly fell off their seats when the Eels got a penalty/field goal attempt which they fumbled badly.

Ah I'm not following the U20's Six Nations, just dont have the time with
Wimbledon, Euros and dabbling in the NRL!

You called it right for The Panthers by 1 point, well done! close game
and The Eels missing a penalty kick in the last minute, thats tough
and a very imortant moment to go ahead of The Panthers and into 2nd.

I have another bet on The Sharks to beat The Broncos . . . and hopefully
I will have a bit more to put on the Rabbitohs.

Well I'm happy enough with Storm's win, another white wash score.

Next up with as you say almost even odds is The Sea Eagles, kinda waste of time but I dont want to risk betting on close odds.

That game between the Panthers and Eels should be a cracker! will definitely try and watch extended highlights if I can find them.

There are some pretty tight odds for some of these one sided games at the moment.  Even the ones where the teams are closer to eachother on the table, you'd be lucky to get 2:1 odds.

It was something like 30 - Nil at half time last night and didn't improve for the Roosters.

Tonight's back-to-back games I expect the Dragons to outlast the Warriors and the Panthers to have the upper edge over the Eels.

Rugby Union.

I lost out on the under 20's Scotland and Wales, but England lived up to the appropriate hashtag #bingithome #ItsComingHome  Cool

Rugby Union returns to the Nitrogen Sports EU ranks this week with picks on the Six Nations Under twenties.  I'm biased and have picked England, Scotland and Wales to ward off all others.  Grin

I've been able to claw some losses back with some Tennis wins so I'm betting one NRL game at a time, hopefully there's a Storm brewing!

In Tennis all of my pics have come true.  All the Anastasia's (various spellings) Cori Gauff,  Jennifer Brady, the Pliskova's, Petra Kvitova,  Elena Rybakina,  Aryna Sabalenka,  Sloane Stephens - anyone against the Williams sisters - and Ash Barty from here in South East Queensland.   Grin   Cool   Tongue

Pavlyuchenkova/Rybakina in the doubles too.

Other fixtures:

A one off Tim Tszyu in the Boxing (like Father, like son hopefully)

Any games with Boston Red Sox or San Francisco Giants (after a tip off from a semi pro baseball player at work)...

...then there's the UK Soccer teams.
