Pascal Gauzere admits mistakes to referees boss

Not taking anything away from wales but the ref made a few blunders in the match against
England on Saturday. England were favourites to win the match but it shows on occasions
that the ref can change the outcome of a match eventhough England didnt do
themselves any favours towards the end.

So 2 of 3 games played this week which brings the unforseen Welsh team to the
top of the table and looking like strong contenders for the championship.

The game played against England yesterday was a close one until the last 15 minutes where
England lost their discipline and gave too many penalties away in their own half and Wales
took full advantage to take the Triple Crown Trophy.

Italy     10 - 48     Ireland
Wales     40 - 24     England

Postponed indefinitely, that should mean all bets are cancelled?
Yes it's the only right thing to do IMO, and as you can see almost all sportsbooks have already cancelled them... but unfortunately some other like freebitcoin haven't done it yet.

Well the other 2 games are continuing without spectators of course.
The teams generally have been sticking to health guidelines and up
until now have been COVID free but all it takes is one person to be
infected along with relaxed safety protocols and its a disaster.

Anyway fixtures below

Saturday 27th February

Italy v Ireland - KO 14:15 GMT

Wales V England - KO 16:45 GMT

Sunday 28th February

Am just cross-posting this from another thread.

FRANCE VS SCOTLAND rugby match has just been cancelled (or postponed indefinitely) because of several coronavirus cases.
What will happen to this bet please?

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2021/feb/25/france-v-scotland-again-in-doubt-following-new-positive-covid-19-test

Quote

The Six Nations has been plunged into disarray after France’s match against Scotland was postponed following another positive Covid-19 test in Les Bleus’ camp on Thursday.

No date has been set for the fixture to be rescheduled and it is understood using next week’s fallow weekend is considered risky given ongoing concerns over the outbreak within the France squad.

To be honest, I'm very surprised *any* fixtures are occurring in the European Region given the lack of social-distancing/repeated lock-downs and other things that are causing the Covid to continue to circulate and flare up time and time again.

Second round of games in the Six Nations Championship played this weekend with only
one against the odds upset, Wales taking a win from Scotland at Murray Field.
The results from the other 2 games were as expected.

Ireland playing France today at home and narrowly losing with the majority of posession
but unable to break the French defence for large portions of the game.

England     41 - 18     Italy
Scotland     24 - 25     Wales
Ireland     13 - 15     France

It has to be said, Wales played awfully considering their advantage against Ireland, and Scotland has to be favorites going into their match. Wales are a country which is suffering from a hangover of a past great manager which delivered a lot of silverware, and losing key coaches to rival nations, as well as several key players, which were probably considered world class retiring.

The squad, manager, and new tactics haven't really clicked yet, and I know there's a lot of discussion between Welsh fans that Pivac the head coach isn't the man for the job. Scotland on the other hand are on the rise, after upsetting one of the favorites for the title; England, and quite convincingly at that, which the scoreboard didn't show.

Despite this, you cannot ever rule out Wales. Wales are very good at slowing the game down to their pace, and bringing other teams down to their level. For such a small country. Welsh rugby has been my guilty pleasure over the years when it comes to betting, despite how well we've done in the last few years. We are almost always the underdogs in the big matches, and the odds usually reflect this.

I can't bet against my country, but if you are to take into consideration where the teams are currently, then Scotland is probably the best bet. They are on a high from beating England, and finally starting the Six Nations off with a good result, and Wales despite winning will have a lot of doubts about how they went about it.

Wales have definitely regressed and it was a shock really last year only winning 1 game
compared to the Grand Slam win in 2019.

A new manager will always bring his own playbook and players can find it hard to adjust,
I dont know why this is though because its their job, I mean its solely what they do.

I wouldnt rule out Wales either, you could say it os your national sport! and like Scotland
and Ireland you wouldnt have a vast pool of players to pick from, unlike England and France.

There's a Scottish shop in Dunedin NZ and on one of my recent trips there, Wales were playing a tour, so the Scottish Shop got renamed for the duration of the tour "The Welsh Shop".  (They nearly won too!)

Today was the 3rd game in the 1st round of Six Nations Championship games

wales     21 - 16     Ireland

A strange but exciting game, Ireland were favourites to win the match but had a player Red carded
about 15 minutes in, but on half time were leading 6 - 13, wales regained the lead with 2 try's and 1
conversion. The last play of the game saw Ireland fail to kick to touch for a 5 metre lineout to at
least draw the match.

Here is how the table looks after round 1

Its an interesting feature of Rugby, The quite different codes and how the popularity of those
differ from province to province, country to country.

Ahead of todays first round of games in The Six Nations I post an article from WhatHiFi.
I know most people will have their own setup for viewing sports online, others may not, hope it helps.

EDIT

First day's results register two away wins,  a comfortable win for France over Italy
and a shock defeat for England at the hands of Scotland.

Two enjoyable games, Great skill on display by France and man of the match Antoine Dupont.
Scotland brought a great game plan of "chaos" to Twickenham, England helping them
with too many penalties. Scotland take their 1st win at Twickenham in 38 years and on the
150th anniversary of the Calcutta Cup.

Highlights at least should make for good entertainment.

Italy     10 - 50     France

England     6 - 11     Scotland

Farewell, Leo. You will be missed!
Is RL bigger than RU in Australia, I imagine they would have equal following?
Australia has much more success in the Rugby League than in Rugby Union. Even when facing New Zealand, Australia are big favorites and have recorded probably 3 times more wins than New Zealand has. It's a complete other ball game when they face off in Rugby Union. New Zealand will probably win 8 or 9/10 with a full squad at their disposal.

Well I can safely say none of the NH teams let the Kiwi's win at RU!
They are the team to beat, the benchmark, and its one of the toughest tests
in the Autumn Series of games.

I forgive you Timelord2067 for omitting Ireland from your northern hemisphere touring list  Wink

Thank for your understanding... (I prefer pints of Kilkenny over the other brand myself)

Yea I know the Kiwi's are mad for union, its their national sport after all and they have acheived more than any other team

Yes, it's true we let the Kiwis win at Union so we can flog them at cricket. (True story that!)

It's true that RL is far more popular across Australia (especially on the East Coast here in Queensland and New South Wales).

In comparison, in New Zealand, the Kiwi's are bonkers for Union  over League.

So, when ever the Bledisloe Cup is on everyone in Australia barracks for Australia and Everyone in New Zealand barracks for New Zealand, regardless of which code is preferred.

Similarly, if the English/Welsh/Scott's/French are touring and playing either Oz or NZ, then EVERYONE in Oz/NZ barracks for Oz/NZ against the rest of the world. (In saying thst, whenever any of the Pacific Rugby Nations tour, loyalties are split if that makes sense).

I've always followed Rugby League (not the least of which because I grew up just streets away from Lang Park). When there was talk of a Super League in Australia they should have combined all League Clubs on the East Coast, played a knock out series and had divisions like they do in soccer which would have given more variety to the game instead of it still being a New South Wales centric "National" game.
