Will this affect the price of Bitcoin? Most likely, yes. But I doubt Facebook will announce it.

It looks like it was a false alarm. But still it may indicate that Facebook plans to do so. I really love to see it as we saw its effect on the price when Tesla announced their huge investment into Bitcoin. I actually don't like the price's being manipulated easily. But we have nothing to do about it. So we hope to see it in a positive way.

Facebook will have no choice but to announce it they are a public company and they have to be at the least transparent to their investors as to where they are putting their money.

In my opinion, it is very unlikely that the Facebook company will adopt bitcoin, didn't they previously say that bitcoin is not good for investment because there is no guarantor for the asset, so they make their own stablecoin called libra and which can guarantee our assets like conventional currencies in general , but so far there has been no sign of launch.
Anything is possible mate, and maybe they just trying to diversify their portfolio and put some of them to cryptocurrencies including bitcoin, even mark zuckerberg has recently teasing people by naming his goat facebook though maybe it's just merely a tease and nothing more.
their libra coin also seem to be stagnant these days, maybe the company just playing safe and wait until CBDC out first then they gonna release their own version of stablecoin but IMHO the most logical scenario is that their company just follow other company that try to invest in crypto alike.

What is the real purpose of publishing bitcoin holdings and simply holding nothing more than that? I don't see this is important news and I'm not sure if knowing that a large number of bitcoins are in the hands of influential people is a good sign. There are many anonymous whales who never announce thousands of bitcoins in their wallets.

perhaps to attract public attention, such as a tweet on Twitter. well, I also think it's just a kind of marketing strategy to attract more users. even without doing this, FB has also dominated social media with various features that have been widely used to date.
maybe the effect will be more significant if fb announces it will use btc or other altcoins to make transactions on its platform, this is a good adoption.

Facebook may have made a reassuring move on behalf of this market by holding bitcoin. this news excited me. because at the time i think facebook is a huge company. and I feel safer when a big company buys bitcoin. I would like big companies to invest more. Since people trust big companies, their presence in this market is a great move in terms of both the development of the market, attracting new investors and providing big money inflows to the market.

Except facebook also plans to implement bitcoin into the platform's financial system. I see facebook is slowly migrating from a social platform to a business platform. But I remember that Mark still has regulatory issues, this won't happen anytime soon.

Anyone knows what even happened to Facebook's plans to develop their own digital currency? Did they forfeit those plans or is there any specific reason for the delay? Haven'T heard anything about it in quite a while.
Well, first they decided to rebranded it from Libra to Diem Cheesy and since then the media got really quiet on it probably because there isn't anything worth

mentioning if anything even developing.

It could make for a crazy project - DOGE 2 type coin  Cheesy

i don't know if they have given up on that or not but it has been a failure so far. nobody was interested in it and they faced a large number of regulatory problems with the US government that was planning on shutting it down anyways.
with the way they are looking into bitcoin now, it seems like it is done deal.

The government's position on Facebook's digital currency is astounding because that would be a currency the government could monitor and force Facebook to hand out their data. Facebook would have no choice but to cooperate if the governments wants them to.
Instead they are now trying to get insights into decentralized blockchains like Bitcoin.

Not just Mark but also Jack of Twitter and the rest to hand their data regarding social media outrage against the government, they were summoned to report there. The good reason for them to cooperate and change the TOS and policy to their platforms.

I suspect Myspace owner didn't participate in the government that is why the company died. Maybe forced by the government to not develop further. Thus replaced by facebook.

Cointelegraph article says Mark is BTC maximalist.

It would be absurd to believe the word of a large corporation like Facebook, their vague policies and statements are always plans to distract competitors, they don't care about bitcoin but they have implemented the libra project in the past and this project wants to be successful, it forces a link to bitcoin. The actual theory and action are inconsistent, most likely they are coming up with another plan into bitcoin as soon as they see bitcoin has grown too much.

very good news if this really happened. because If a large company like Facebook holds bitcoin, it means that the price of bitcoin will soar.

it doesn't matter who has the information, but it ceases to be information and becomes gossip when no source can be verified.

When creating content of any kind, however simple it may be, the source should always be verified, one cannot echo news or data and in general any type of information that is based on "rumour".

In fact it makes me part of the gossip to give my opinion on the "Topic".

Today many want to become an influencer of the price of bitcoin in the future and create false expectations.

According to some cryptocommunity members there is a rumor that the Facebook social media giant might be holding Bitcoin on its balance sheet.
There are several media that preached related to this rumor and until now no one has not been related to confirmation of the official rumors from Facebook.
And what kind of rumor is this? Is this only used to increase the name or value of Bitcoin? Or only a hope?
Actually, this kind of rumour may happen in many terms, but Facebook is a big company in which they also have their crypto to release.
Well, what we can do right now is nothing. We should even trust it when it is uttered officially by Facebook itself.

When we think that a big company like Facebook has millions or maybe billions of users, it can be a great step forward. When big companies like Facebook invest in bitcoin or any other altcoin in this way, it can mean that we have the chance to reach millions more people. people put forward what big companies are doing. there would be an important development for the market.
