Looks like the Russian gas won't even be able to come back to Europe quickly. There were sabotages on the north stream 1 & 2 pipelines that is leaking now. Both Sweden and Denmark noticed under water destinations that damaged the pipelines. So far it's not clear how severe the damage is and if it can be repaired quickly. I read an analysis yesterday that the pipeline can easily be reached by normal divers, there is no submarine needed for the sabotage. This increases the suspect pool and makes it very hard to find out who did it. For 2 weeks Russia hasn't been sending gas through it and it doesn't seem logical to damage the pipeline themselves. The baltic countries, USA or Ukraine seem like more realistic suspects, as they are gaining from not operating north stream pipelines. So far Europe seems to be fine, but it all depends on how cold the winter will be. Europe could face serious issues if we are getting a long and cold winter. So far the autumn feels already cold and more people are getting worried.

Results of the annexation referendum has been published:

https://ria.ru/20220927/referendum-1818721567.html?in=t

Donetsk: 99.23% in favor of joining Russia, 0.62% against
Luhansk: 98.42% in favor of joining Russia, 1.00% against
Zaporizhia: 93.11% in favor of joining Russia, 6.89% against
Kherson: 87.05% in favor of joining Russia, 12.05% against

Russia has announced that it will veto any UN resolution to condemn the referendums. Within two weeks the government will announce that these four regions have been formally annexed to Russia and that will allow them to send conscripts and reservists there.

We live in the place where in winter max temperature drops to -2 that is the max. And our country has been in oil and gas crisis for long.
It is hard for us to survive in winter how people going to survive in winter where temperature will drop to almost -40
Time to think what EU has done to themselves.
Well, humanity has survived long before modern times and usage of gas to warm homes. They will survive.
It just takes time to readjust to the new conditions and go back to ancient ways of warming homes with firewood, coal, etc. and wearing heavy clothes to keep warm.

~
This phase is called denial, don't worry about it too much. Soon they'll reach acceptance.
6 months ago they called out anybody who talked about economic crisis in EU. Today businesses around Europe are declaring bankruptcy.
6 months ago I talked about food war/crisis in Europe, same idiots were in denial then too. Today they are talking about the said crisis themselves.

The worst part is that the denial today is part of the reason for the crisis tomorrow. When their politicians kept saying "food situation is worse in Africa" instead of focusing on ways to solve it domestically, they wouldn't have been in what they call "cost of living crisis" today where people have to cut back on their meals to be able to afford it long term and not starve.

I can post here on other 3 languages I know - will that make me more European than Russian in your eyes ?  Smiley

You could but you actually don't, and funny enough even if your computer is set both to Russian language and Russian IP, the other way around you wound't be posting stuff like .ru sub-level domains for websites or end your links with ru language extensions! But it's perfectly normal for a Czech or a Hungarian to come to this website and suddenly post 10 pages in Russian before thinking of his homeland. Or are you a fugitive and are afraid the KGB might doxx you? Oh forgot about that, somebody already did when you were complaining all over the reputation board about being blackmailed. Weird that those were also in Russian.

Back to the subject, if you want to discuss what governments do in Europe, how about you tell us what the movement of your country while naming it, has done? Maybe, maybe , you're bullshitting?

But I'm used to this, you're one of those guys who think Europe is so bad but god forbids you banned from coming here, so why don't you go to Russia where gas is that cheap and everything is soooo fine?

Now back to what you call bullshit trolling - we had

You had shit! Proof or it didn't happen!

Question to Europeans

Question to the Russian dude pretending to be European.
Aren't you tired of this bullshit trolling?

Heating season in my European country hasnt started yet,

If you don't see the Kremlin through the window and you have a wallpaper of the Eiffel tower it didn't mean that you're french not doe it means you're not Russian anymore. Stop with the stupid games, you've petty much given it away when you had your banking problems, it's clear you don't have EU citizenship so if you don't like the county that welcomed you, you can go back to that heaven on earth shithole.
This is unless you have already been kicked out since you've suddenly changed a lot your tone in February.

Sorry to disappoint you, but you are completely wrong with that - I am not Russian, I see no Kremlin through my window and dont have banking problem, have EU citizenship/passport/ID card. The fact that I speak and know Russian language does not make me Russian (I hope you are not kind of people that think if person speaks Russian - he is Russian). I can post here on other 3 languages I know - will that make me more European than Russian in your eyes ?  Smiley

Now back to what you call bullshit trolling - we had 6month government support on electricity prices in 2022. Basically we had 50-75% discount on it. Now I know that some countries set limits to gas prices upper bounds; they try to prevent price skyrocketing. Some countries claimed they wont put fines if person isnt able to pay gas bill fully in time. Has anyone heard about other kind of support ?

That is not the first time Russians and trolling Europeans with their gas problems. Heating season in my European country hasnt started yet, but social media is already placing maximum effort to scare people with high bill. High gas bills, expensive fuel and electricity, inflation. More trolling to come.

We are talking about the price increase for so long that we ignored another important aspect. The European currencies are sliding down at an unprecedented rate against the US Dollar. The GBP was trading at $1 = £0.73 one year ago, and right now it is trading at $1 = £0.93. For Euro, the respective exchange rates are $1 = €0.85 and $1 = €1.04. And this is a double whammy for the Europeans. The gas prices have risen by 10x to 20x, and on top of that the national currencies have lost 20% to 25% of their value.

Question to Europeans - are your government planning to help their citizens with current gas problem this heating season? Or does your government plan any kind of help, as gas (suddenly) turned to not the only problem ? At my country, the solution from government is following - to economize and no discounts, no money support, they havent even cancelled fines if bills wont be due date.

We have to give credit to Russians for playing so smartly. They have not only attacked Ukarine but also have created gas crisis in EU. EU can't survive without Russia gas and this showing there hypocrisy that they using Russian gas but demanding other countries not to do that.
It's not so much about Russians being smart but EU being dumb for not diversifying their energy imports. Years ago when they were buying energy from Russia for super cheap prices (undervalued) any voice that spoke against it and demanded diversification were silenced (democracy lol).
Obviously when they lost their main source of energy (some of them import between 80% to 100% from Russia!) they were screwed.

It is also already too late to diversify too since any new infrastructure would take at least 2-3 years to build. Not to mention that other sources already have their own customers and there is not much left to be sent to Europe.

Something I learnt only recently, the city I live in has been granted an extension by the country to continue using Russian gas. So nationally, the sanctions are on, but each city, apparently negotiates independent energy deals. And if they demonstrate that they've tried looking for new sources (via public bidding) and cannot find something suitable (not sure if this means only financially) then they're granted extensions to keep using Russian gas all the way into next year.

It's a problem for Europe, but the spillover will touch and has touched every country. My own home country's on the brink of inflation I've not seen in my generation... while making new 20-year lows against US dollar every day.

Russia has large reserves of natural gas and oil at this time, of course, the dependence of most European countries on Russia will continue to apply. We can not deny about what Russia has today. If we look at the map, almost a third of the land belongs to Russia, where the land has sufficient natural reserves. Great scientists are not born from Russia, but they have a lot more for scientists to learn.

I don't want to comment on the advantages and disadvantages of countries, both European countries, USA, Russia, Asia and others. But I would like to comment on the current war. The current global conditions are laboring the entire world economy, and benefiting a handful of countries. The war between Russia and Ukraine involves many countries, especially the Nato countries that have business interests.

Russia sells crude oil as a basic means of transportation, while the USA sells war equipment in the form of fighter planes and others. While small countries such as Ukraine, Iraq, Palestine, and others become business fields, people become victims, and innocent children are targeted. I think, this is not a dependency problem of a country, but it is a global business problem, in which such a world condition must be created.

There are 5 countries currently at war:
  • 1. Russia and Ukraine
  • 2. Saudi Arabia and Iran
  • 3. China and Taiwan
  • 4. India and Pakistan
  • 5. Israel and Palestine
If all that doesn't happen, what's the point of warplanes, nuclear, tanks and others. Of course the answer is business.

The higher the level of squealing of the Kremlin propagandists and their bedding, about the fact that the world cannot live without Russian gas, the lower the cost of this gas ... But most likely the relationship is inverse - the lower the price of gas - the higher the level of hysteria in the Kremlin Smiley Back to reality, look at the gas price chart! The New York Mercantile Exchange NYMEX (New York Mercantile Exchange) is the leading American futures commodity exchange. The NYMEX exchange trades the Henry Hub benchmark gas, which is the basis for gas prices in the Western Hemisphere and has a significant impact on pricing around the world.

Threat Whoever has real problems with gas is ... the Russians themselves Smiley The news is not new, the problem is already 50+ years old Smiley)))

"Needed like air": will the Krasnoyarsk Territory be heated by gas?
Hopes of citizens and real prospects
“There is no gas for heating in the Krasnoyarsk Territory” - this phrase surprises the inhabitants of some regions of Russia, where gas has long been successfully used as a source of heat. Krasnoyarsk, like many Siberian cities, is still warmed by coal, which entails many environmental problems.

So is what we predicted is starting to happen?
As we speak many countries in European Union are starting to form their own "Union", in other words EU and soon NATO are falling apart. Right now France and England are joining what they call "European Group" as if changing the word Union to Group makes a difference.
The Balkans are forming their own thing too as they are the ones that are suffering the most specially since nobody in EU is honoring their promises to help them in energy and other things.
Eastern Europe is another scene entirely as they may even start moving towards joining the Eastern Bloc and normalize relations with Russia (not any time soon though).

The real question is are we going to see the third European War between these "groups" after 77 years?

I "like" how in several European countries, government set 19 Celsius an average normal temperature at home, as the procedure to economize on gas consumption. I am interested how then gonna control that. What will do houses and flats that have individual heat regulators, and what will do people that live in old houses with old radiators, that barely make room warm.

I like warmth. 21 C is comfort temperature for me. When temperature drops to 19 C, I wear hoodie at home, while being used to t-shirts. And I remember previous winter, when average room temperature was 23-24 C and I had to open windows to get some fresh air. We dont have central heating switched on yet, but current 18-19 C temperature I find as uncomfortable.

I don't see any extra ordinary subsidiary provided by USA to Pakistan for boycotting Gas supply from Iran. The idea is simple,
just bribe the top officials of the country and then make them do whateved USA want. Pakistan need to make a bold move and buy Oil and gas from Russia and Iran to meet its energy needs. Otherwise it will be too late.

Americans always look after their own economic interest. There will be no freebies. And this is the exact reason why India decided to maintain friendly relations with Russia, despite a lot of pressure tactics from the Americans. Look at the European Union and Japan. Under pressure from the Americans, they decided to boycott Russian fuel. Now the energy bills are up by 5x to 10x. Rather than helping them, the Americans are busy profiting out of the situation by selling oil and gas to these people at sky high rates. Any sort of relationship with United States will be highly asymmetrical and one-sided.

most developing countries are facing this problem,, especially in Asia,, they are very interested in buying oil from Russia or Iran to be able to suppress oil prices in their countries, but the problem is that America will impose economic sanctions on countries that buy oil from Russia or Iran .. this is a dilemma because America also provides a lot of subsidies to these countries but at the same time the price of oil in their country starts to soar which will cause inflation to get worse

Can't say how much India is suffering but Pakistan is suffering alot even though its sitting very next to world largest oil and gas reserve country. Buying expensive LNG from Qatar instead of cheap Iran gas, producing expensive electricity from furnace oil but not willing to buy cheap Iran Electricity. All this is because of USA sanctions on Iran and also forcing other countries not to trade with Iran.
Now Europe is facing energy crisis and they must thank USA for that. Just like we are suffering.
