10 Best Bitcoin Wallets For Secure Bitcoin Storage

http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/bitcoin-wallets/

So these are the wallets where I can put my bitcoins. Meaning those bitcoin wallets has a good background history? Isn't right? Well then I might gonna choose the blockchain wallet because this is most often I heard has a good track record when it comes to bitcoin security though I'm not saying that the others are not good. I am reading the forum daily and am registered here a few days ago.
What do you people suggest for a safe wallet for a newbie, I am not that tech guy , just the average joe with computers.
I have read that Blockchain.info is one of the best wallets, but I have also read that there are a lot of other wallets that they call local wallets like Bitcoin core Multibit Electrum and Armory also phone wallets. Which is one you can sleep safe at night ?

For mobile phone,go for blockchain official wallet. You can find it on playstore to download

if you are using an android phone then use mycelium wallet it is trusted and very safe for keeping money and also learn some about private keys and make a seperate private key and attach it when ever you use a new wallet
Mobile phone wallets are not generally safe though since it's phones are always prone to attacks whenever it is connected to wifi.
I'd rather have a desktop wallet or an online wallet at least if I'm not going to be placing large amounts.

Well try some of the best wallets online and try to look what best suites yourself. Because some other wallets offer different uses. Some wallets offer Dollar to BTC transaction with different prices, some other wallets also supports BTC to ETH and vice versa.
i guess you are right, i really like blockchain.info though a lot of people say it is not secure so there is a green address wallet which is really great either
i agree. just test some and see what you need and like. the most important thing still is to inform yourself before you use them since the priority should be that your money is safe by your standards.

If you don't have complete trust in your ability to secure and keep your bitcoins in a complicated wallet like Armory or QT then you can try it as well with Electrum "Really simple really" or Blockchain.info "although using a website-based wallet is not that recommended".

Go with Electrum or Multibit. I wouldn't recommend blockchain.info because there's at least 2 threads on this forum where people have reported what appears to be blockchain.info generating an address that is not associated with their wallet's xpub
I truly agree with you...presently am using blockchain  and am loving it.
You are agree? but his statement is against in blockchain, but for me i think it depends on the country you at what bitcoin wallet is the legal to store your investment. Just continue read and search of what is the best wallet for your money.

LOL, maybe he is less to read what the meaning of the statment that he quotes. Because I think opinions he quotes is declared against blockchain.info. But I think all of wallet has weaknesses and strengths, I personally use a variety of wallet. Because with that I could avoid the things that are not desirable. IMO

There's no such thing as a safe wallet for newbie. You can go with Electrum or latest version of Multibit HD but best for a newbie is to spread your coins in different wallets if you will keep your coins in online wallets. The safest wallets are Hardware wallets like Trezor but they cost a bit. I suggest you read more in the link below for hardware wallets. That should be our ultimate goal to keep bitcoins in safe cold storage.

I agree with this that online wallet is a big risk to save a money that is why we need to put a portion of our money that we can afford to lose do not put all your money at risk even it is a good return of profit if we have a big investment we do not have assurance that it would be longer exist like of of fiat.

Yes when we invest must think about the amount that fits, because the investment is a risky thing. Therefore we should only use the money that has been prepared for the lost (of course we do not want it).

And my advice to never put all your assets in one place, the same thing with bitcoin. Never put all your bitcoin in one place (bitcoin wallet), it is better to save in many places (bitcoin wallet).  thank you

I think it depends on your country what is the legal or licensed wallet.  Here in our country we have coins.ph.  I feel very secured on their services and it is easy to use.  I could use my bitcoins to top up my cellphone, I could pay bills like credit card, utilities, pay loans, and even schools tuition fee.  How cool is that?  There are like 4 kinds of verification and they are very strict.  If they traced your transactions came from suspicious sites, they will blocked it and you have to contact them through skype.
I don't think countries and lows are relate to specific bitcoin wallets.  if bitcoin itself legal and allowed somewhere then all bitcoin wallets are also legal, and if bitcoin is not legal then all walets are illegal there. that's it..
peoples can use any wallet, I use electrum and it is more safer than any online wallet,

For me personally Blockchain is still the best.
If you use 2 step authentication with then, have Antivirus program up to date on your computer and don't share your password you will be safe with them.
Of course, there is no such thing as ''absolute'' security on Internet but if you don't keep to much funds in one wallet youn will be ok.
Other idea is to keep Bitcoin offline.

I do not recommend using a web wallet. A better choice is Multibit or Electrum. They are very easy to use, safe and there is no need to download the whole blockchain. I suggest any newbie should take their time to learn and use these wallets.

Then later they can use web wallets and mobile wallets.

This is my 3 safe wallet that I used,
1. Blockchain- this wallet is the safe and best wallet for me this is compatible to all user.
2. Coinbase- I like coin base because they have vault to secure your bitcoin.
3. Coins.ph - the Asia wallet tried and tested for the bitcoin safe.
All of that is an online wallet and I can say you're giving a trust for 3rd parties to saving your money and I think anytime you can get a risk from that. and are you ready for it? i don't say online wallet is bad but there is not a guarantee for your amount.

No but if they have no other alternative. Like having no access to a pc and on a mobile it is tough to install bitcoin core if not impossible having limited memory space for the growing .dat file.

But he uses 3 wallets, so I think he will be quite safe since he didn't put them all in "one basket". Paper wallet is better, true, but it can be overwhelming for people who didn't know what to do, and that can backfire
