Try to use blockchain.info wallet because it is one of the popular and it has a lot of safety features that you can use online.

It is also good but I think those who are newbie in the field of bitcoin and whose earning are not much bigger then they should have to join xapo, as they do not have any fees for transaction and they in the start while registering redirect their users to complete all the security functions.

In the start I also tried xapo, and there I did not faced any difficult , I think the newbies should have to adopt xapo, and the feature of no fees is much attractive to me till now.

Blockchain is the best wallet, it's safe and secure and you can use easily without any problems, it's not complicated to use even for newbies

Blockchain wallet is safe, newbies and experts can use it without any problem. Electrum wallet is not bad too. Just avoid the exchangers wallets because it's not really safe

I am reading the forum daily and am registered here a few days ago.
What do you people suggest for a safe wallet for a newbie, I am not that tech guy , just the average joe with computers.
I have read that Blockchain.info is one of the best wallets, but I have also read that there are a lot of other wallets that they call local wallets like Bitcoin core Multibit Electrum and Armory also phone wallets. Which is one you can sleep safe at night ?

I will suggest you to use blockchain because it's very easy to use. and its security is good. You can also use wallet by Android Mobile. And, I think its perfect for any newbie because I also used it when I was newbie like you.

Yeah, don't use coinbase if you plan on using any bitcoin for gambling. It's against their ToS and they may freeze your account.
that mean we can't send and received fund from gambling site ?

Blockchain is pretty good, they have transaction fees but I assure you that your wallet is in safe hands. You can have multiple addresses as well but don’t forget to ensure more security on your wallet with passphrases and authentication.

I still consider myself a newbie but I have different wallets that I use. Blockchain.info and coins.ph are two of my most used wallets. When I'm buying bitcoins, I use coins.ph. For my signature campaign earnings, I use blockchain.info. So far, I'm satisfied with both wallets and haven't had any troubles yet.

You'll not get any troubles if you keep your information safe and secret. Even blockchain is not a secure wallet, I would suggest you that anytime you got lots of bitcoin, that time better to move to another wallet,
A cold storage wallet or a paper wallet is very safe for large amount of wallet, but for low amount and spending purpose blockchain is still good, becausei using blockchain is very easy and simple, and you can access to your account from anywhere on the world.
just keep your identifier and password safe, and always backup your wallet's private keys.

Most wallets that are opensourced and well-known are very safe. The most important factor is how you take care of the wallet. For example, if you value your wallet, you should not be downloading random and unknown software from the internet and accessing dangerous sites. Always keep a cold wallet that is generated on a clean and offline computer. If you need portability, you can try to use HD wallets.

i just want to add to this and say being open source on its own doesn't mean something is good. the second criteria is also important and that is being "well known" because it can be an unknown wallet with malicious code which nobody uses and if you choose that you will regret it.

but that is a rare case though, all the wallets that are known and are listed on bitcoin.org are well known and multiple people are contributing to the code and checking it.

you have to stop being a newbie if you want to be safe when using bitcoin. learning about cold storage and how to keep your coins safe is not hard there are a lot of tutorials showing you how to do it also.
i use a paper wallet and electrum as my wallets.

I would say that it depends on country where you live in.Here in philippines we all use coins ph wallet because of its reliability. It is a portable wallet which we can use to buy  steam cards, mol points, buying prepaid load and even encashing it to real money insantly. For me this is the safest wallet for us.Every bitcoin wallet is safe it will just have problem id the user will fail to protect his/her account

Yup its depends on your country. Im also here in philippines and the best wallet for me is coins.ph wallet because when i send some coins to my friends, deposit in hyips, deposit in trading site theres no fee in sending bitcoin. But the only that i dont want here is if you look in the bitcoin address in blockchain.info i think the coins.ph using my bitcoin. But in the site i didnt see that they use it.
