1 reputation (will the site let you withdraw if you win?)
2 provable fairness (can they prove that the rolls are fair?)
3 house edge (satoshidice has 1.9% house edge, most have 1%)
4 speed (some sites have very fast betting)
5 crowd-fundedness (can you invest in the bankroll?)
6 community (is there chat? is it good?)
7 novelty (do they offer anything different like range bets, jackpots, etc.?)
8 design (safe-dice looks pretty)

1 Knowing that the website I'm going to be putting my coins at has gained a good reputation over paying everyne exactly as promised is a big relief.

2 Provable fairness has become a must in bitcoin gambling. Knowing that a game doesn't have system to verify bets will stop most from playing it altogether.

3 Being able to bet against a smaller house edge is what in my opinion made dice websites popular, although for me a 0.9% more doesn't seem to makes that of a difference.

4 Being able to gamble without a significant delay between each bet is an great advantage bitcoin gambling can offer and websites should take advantage of this. I don't really like it when there's a delay between dice rolls.

5 After the recent events, I wouldn't really say that I like crown funded dice websites. Not only is a huge sum of money being handled by a handful of people, but the small house edge exposes investors more than it would expose owners of the website. In my opinion, seing an opperator being (financially) heavily invested in his own website shows comitment.

6 It's always nice to hang around and chat about various topics. But bitcoin attracts the interest of all kinds of people so someone's got to mainstain a positive spirit in the community as well. It's not always a pleasure to talk with people in gambling website chats so I'm leaving this sixth.

7 To me the low house edge while I still have the ability to play whenever you want, with (almost) whatever amount and with speedy dice rolls with the ability to set the odds on my own is more than I'd ever ask from a gambling website.

8 I don't need eye candy.

Also, instant withdrawals and a decent max win are fome features I care about.

But there's also a thing I'm always looking at although not many people seem to be taking it seriously. How the website pays out, I'd prefer a website paying withdrawn coins from random addresses rather than paying every withdrawal through the same hotwallet that could be marked as (x gambling site's wallet) in the blockchain.

I'm really quite sane!
I played the wheel and lost most of my win. Is the dice easy to win?

I love playing dice. But I always choose a good site to play on.

What makes a site "good" in your opinion?

Rate the following 8 features from most important to least important:

* design (safe-dice looks pretty)
* house edge (satoshidice has 1.9% house edge, most have 1%)
* speed (some sites have very fast betting)
* provable fairness (can they prove that the rolls are fair?)
* reputation (will the site let you withdraw if you win?)
* crowd-fundedness (can you invest in the bankroll?)
* community (is there chat? is it good?)
* novelty (do they offer anything different like range bets, jackpots, etc.?)

Here is what I look for in a gambling site:

1 - Reputation - if you cannot withdraw your winnings then there is no point in trying to win in the first place as you are all but certain to end up loosing

2 - Design/UI - This makes it more enjoyable for a player using the site. Although the face that Satoshi dice allows for people to play directly from their wallet does make playing a little more interesting as they can check on their bet on the blockchain.

3 - Provable fairness - this goes hand in hand with reputation, however if a site is reputable then it will likely be "fair" (even if not provably fair). It is also a moot point if a site is not reputable to care about provable fairness

4 - community - When I go to a "real" casino, I always enjoy gambling at a full table, especially when the other players are somewhat sociable.

5 - speed - A site should be able to process a bet quickly. However the ~10 minute delay does add a little bit of a level of anticipation that can make gambling fun

6 - house edge - most casinos have a ~3% edge, some higher at "specialized" tables, which people gladly play at for the added 'experience'. I don't think people will not use a specific site because of only a small difference in house edge.

7 - novelty - The jackpot feature have a very small chances of a user winning. It takes away a small percentage of the house edge (but as per above this is not important anyway)

8 - crow funding - if a user is gambling then they probably wont care if they are winning investors' money or the "sites" money

This is my opinion:

1. reputation = this is above all else. If the site or operator is reputable, chances are, the other immediate factors will just follow. All other features don't matter if no one trusts you or your site..
2. provable fairness = even if it is provably fair, reputation ranks higher. This helps, and is a given actually. You can't run a site now that is not provably fair. At least for players.
3. design, speed, novelty = I'd lump this together. raffles and lottos are slow. dice are fast. animated table games with nice graphics are in between.
4. crowd-fundedness = some people like to gamble on the other side.
5. community = some people like to participate in chats, promotions, contests, brag how much they won, whine how much they lost.
6. house edge = for all sites under 3% or under 2.5% house edge, the differences are ... well, it depends on the players and / or investors. Investors like higher house edges, players like lower house edges, but if the casino is not making profits, they risk closing.

If the house edge is higher than 3% or 5% or 10%, then it might matter to some players. But between 1% and 1.9% ... While that is a decision left to the operators, and while it does indeed mean double, ... again, in my opinion the other factors contribute more. The house edge only matters when it is too high, and by too high, I mean higher than 3% or higher than 5%, depending on the game.

yes it is easy but also easy to lose. gamble what you can afford to lose man.

It all depends on your target.
If you just want to make a 5% profit, you have a very high chance to achieve that. But if you want to quadruple your bitcoin, the chance is low no matter what games you are playing.

As can be seen on yesterday's Leader Boards, Throne won 0.2 and John won 0.3.

We have disabled Longest Winning Streaks and Unlikeliest Winning Streaks so those will no longer give any winnings before we have updated the system.

We have listened to your feedback and we will reconstruct the affiliate program. (Thanks dooglus, espringe)

All accounts who referred players will be active affiliate accounts with negative carryover and real-time affiliate earnings. All affiliate accounts who has a positive affiliate balance will get their payments right away.

All future affiliate accounts will be approved-only, The manually approved accounts will have no negative carryover and real-time affiliate earnings.

Are you basically saying "we're going to come up with a new system and announce it later"?

Because if this is the announcement, I can't understand it at all. I think you're saying that the coins I lost by referring myself stay lost, but I'm not sure about that either. Smiley

they punish you if your referrer profits? And you have to pay for their luck?

That sucks in so many ways Sad

Well, it's a bit like being invested in the site's bankroll for 10% - but only for the people you refer.

it seems to be better to refer people to other sites instead, where they don't charge you for referring lucky players.

That's probably true.
