Some house edges to compare with
Slot Machines:   2%-15%
Roulette:           1.76%
Keno:                25%-29%
Blackjack Vegas rules and perfect play: 0.28%

Some other house edges to compare with:

moneypot.com: 0.5% - 1%, based on chance of winning
safedice.com: 1%, but changing soon to 0.5% for small bets
primedice.com: 1%
prcdice.eu: 1%
bitdice.me: 1%
bikinidice.com: 1%
satoshidice.com: 1.9%

I would question your roulette number. For a 1 zero wheel the edge is 1/37th of 100%, and for 2 zero wheels it's 2/38th of 100%:

>>> 1/37
2.7027%

>>> 2/38
5.2631%

Where do you get 1.76%? That would be the edge for a wheel with about 100 / 1.76 = 56.8 numbers on it, one of which was a zero.

Yours falls in the "under 2%" already, so it doesn't seem to matter all that much. The other games you mentioned can have bitcoin equivalent games with lowered house edges. All they have to do is increase the payout, or use a different layout for the table games.

What makes a site "good" in your opinion?

Rate the following 8 features from most important to least important:

* design (safe-dice looks pretty)
* house edge (satoshidice has 1.9% house edge, most have 1%)
* speed (some sites have very fast betting)
* provable fairness (can they prove that the rolls are fair?)
* reputation (will the site let you withdraw if you win?)
* crowd-fundedness (can you invest in the bankroll?)
* community (is there chat? is it good?)
* novelty (do they offer anything different like range bets, jackpots, etc.?)

This is my opinion:

1. reputation = this is above all else. If the site or operator is reputable, chances are, the other immediate factors will just follow. All other features don't matter if no one trusts you or your site..
2. provable fairness = even if it is provably fair, reputation ranks higher. This helps, and is a given actually. You can't run a site now that is not provably fair. At least for players.
3. design, speed, novelty = I'd lump this together. raffles and lottos are slow. dice are fast. animated table games with nice graphics are in between.
4. crowd-fundedness = some people like to gamble on the other side.
5. community = some people like to participate in chats, promotions, contests, brag how much they won, whine how much they lost.
6. house edge = for all sites under 3% or under 2.5% house edge, the differences are ... well, it depends on the players and / or investors. Investors like higher house edges, players like lower house edges, but if the casino is not making profits, they risk closing.

If the house edge is higher than 3% or 5% or 10%, then it might matter to some players. But between 1% and 1.9% ... While that is a decision left to the operators, and while it does indeed mean double, ... again, in my opinion the other factors contribute more. The house edge only matters when it is too high, and by too high, I mean higher than 3% or higher than 5%, depending on the game.

Roulette:           1.76%

Yes, this is not sorting properly, do you remember if this fixed itself after some minutes or if it remained like this? Did you see some of the bets being inserted while you were looking at the tabs or did they appear static?

It stayed bad for a few days, then seemed to get fixed. The page didn't change while I was watching it - it seemed like it wasn't updating at all, or was delayed by many hours.

totalBetsTodayInSatoshis and totalBets24HInSatoshis are the same, but totalWinsTodayInSatoshis and totalWins24HInSatoshis aren't the same. That can't be right!

This is corrected now, it was adding up all roll prizes no matter if they were actually won or not. Thanks for pointing this out!

No problem.

I think I found another error, or maybe I'm just misunderstanding.

The first two leaderboards: "most won" and "most profit" are both about single bet results, right? "most won" is sorted by the total payout including stake, and "most profit" is sorted by the profit (excluding stake). Both require a bet of 0.001 BTC or more to qualify.

The bet in 2nd place in "most won" profited over 1 BTC, which is more than any of the profits on "most profit". Why isn't that bet shown on the "most profit" leaderboard?

Here are screenshots:

"most won":

"most profit":

Can you, please, reply to my PM?

I'm not affiliated with SatoshiDice in any way, but can I reply unofficially on their behalf?

"Fuck you, and fuck your ineffective DDoS attacks. We're not paying you a single satoshi."

The DDoS guy gave up pretty quickly it seems. If we may, we'll quote that line of yours if there's more DDoS blackmail being sent in our direction in the future.

Also, now that people mention it -- I checked and see you took the 0.01 from my account too, despite there being a deposit (0.1 BTC) within ~2 minutes of the account created.

I honestly don't give a shit about 0.01, but this whole thing makes me incredibly uncomfortable. And is in fact the second time my account balance has been subject to arbitrary manipulation. Before I ever come back to satoshidice, I'd like to see accounts have a full history of how you derived what their balance is (aka: giveaway, affiliates, deposits, withdrawals, bets) so i can check it, as I've basically lost all trust in this site.

+ 1 Big like .

You (espringe) still have the 0.01 free giveaway in your original account. That other account didn't make any rolls during the giveaway. There were several people creating multiple accounts and not playing, so we left their original free 0.01 accounts but reset the accounts that were not used.

where auto bet button here? Wink

Is it worth it to use the autobet button here?

Autobetting could be very useful if you want to aim for the "Most unlikely win" daily 0.1 btc prize. Smiley

We were using an auto clicker at one point when stress testing the site. It could be used for placing lots of bets and catch leader board positions too. We will add auto rolling with bet adjustment rules, sounds and many more neat things as soon as possible. If you wanna try the auto clicker, here it is: http://download.cnet.com/Auto-Clicker-by-Shocker/3000-2084_4-75742161.html

The issue is still not solved... I have tried the exploit today and it still seems to work, so if your interested in fixing it im willing to discuss about it for a good reward.

Mm considering the date "2014-11-18 xx:24:31" and the amount "0.88607" it seems to be this transaction:

https://blockchain.info/tx/54b45fc2603c307c03216e6cae844bd62e1447871ea42b98670d61f7fa2f092f

and perhaps:

Sorry to say, but it looks like you faked your screenshot to get some bug bounty Sad

Disclaimer: in theory there could have been multiple "0.88607 BTC" transactions during this time with also exact "2014-11-18 xx:24:31" date... but myehh.

avicii, try it again with a bigger amount. Work your way up to 10 BTC. I'm sure they'll pay attention then. If it doesn't work anymore, well, then, at least we know it got fixed.

THis could have easily been an html "insert element" edit. No reason to give this credibility if they say state they have ficed the problem he reported already.

Another strange thing about avicii123's screenshot is that SatoshiDice is sure those 0.88607 transactions are not sent by them.

We didn't even make a payout for this amount and you're not giving any other way to identify the payments.

I have tested it today, the bug still seems to be working

avicii123, do it. Go grab a few BTC. Then show proof. Explain. Reproduce. Then, return back the BTC you got that you know is not yours. SD should then acknowledge your bug, and they should offer a bounty. But do not hold their BTC hostage, return it in full (except your own deposit of course).

If you can successfully withdraw 10 BTC for example, and return it (or hold it), then I see no reason why SD should not accept 9.9 BTC back. Or whatever bug bounty you guys agree on.

Just my opinion.

Large companies tend not to do any actions until exploits have actually been executed.

This issue has been fixed. Over these last couple of days there's been around a hundred attempts to make parallel withdrawals and they were all executed normally (denying the excess ones if they would have given the account a negative balance).

We can't stop people from trying but the only thing they are likely to accomplish is to lose the 0.0001 transaction fees.
