Seems to me, Al Nassr is all in, ready to pander to big guns like Brozovic. Their history shouts loud and clear - they arent skittish about spending big bucks for Euro talents. This doesnt surprise us football fanatics, given Saudi Pro League teams often outspend European clubs to nab stars.
Yet, is Al Nassr star-struck at the expense of homegrown players? Could they be building an impenetrable barrier for locals competing against Euro behemoths? Sure, its a money-spinner. But arent we sidelining the growth of our own talent?
Al Nassr became the leading club to bring in top European players. Currently, only Al Nassr seems ready to welcome next season with a squad depth that has. maybe, just waiting for one other player who is not sure who will join, namely Marcelo Brozovic. reportedly, Brozovic will not accept the current proposal from Al Nassr. conditionally, the salary offer must be increased to make it happen. perhaps because of that Al Nassr turned his attention to Seko Fofana from RC Lens, who has confirmed that there are ongoing talks, as quoted by Fabrizo Romano. after all, these two players have the same position.
To be honest, I don't know if Al Nassr will go after some more players, or if that's enough. but for sure, the team will be tougher and more competitive in the next season. as far as I know, the quota for foreign players in the Saudi League is 8 people, correct me if I'm wrong.
Well, related to what you ask, your question is really very interesting. what about the talents possessed by the players from their own country. and this, is going to be a very complicated question for us to answer. but at least, if this project is a royal project as well as involving FIP which is under the auspices of Mohmmed bin Salman. I'm pretty sure, they've thought of ways to get their local players to grow even further. either way, I don't have the answer for now. but at least, let's just follow every development of this competition after it starts again.
