With benzema joining the saudi professional league the SPL will surely receive so much more attention and it might be the reason for more known european players to join it this will surely increase the league level and add more competitivity to the teams and now that ronaldo and benzema are rivals next season will be really interesting.

so the rumours were right - but Messi made his decision
We wish him Good luck - but we were looking fwd for the great match had he been joining SPL

There was an interesting fact regarding it.

All the players were going to the saudi pro league were coming from real madrid. All of the players from barcelona were choosing to go to the MLS instead of joining in the saudi pro league. We may see all of players that have ever played for madrid in the past will reunite in the saudi pro league. The rivalry between madrid and barcelona players are happening even until they have not played for those clubs again.

that's crazy to see that how barcelona players are trying to avoid it to face real madrid players again in saudi pro league.

Ronaldo attracted a lot people to watch this league. For me still it dosent have any meaning because they dont play the europian champions league and now this is turning into old MLS. The league is just a retirement home for old players and legends. People come to watch them but for how long this hype will last is the question
People watch the league for varied reasons, it is not only about playing in UCL, Europa League, or the like. Old players are also interesting to watch, they still have complete skills although they may lose speed and physical strength. People will watch Ronaldo or Benzema in SPL because they are curious about the payers' careers in a new league.

I don't like all this talk about religion. Karim Benzema is saying that he is a Muslim and therefore he is happy to play in Saudi Arabia. In that case what is his opinion about the country of his birth? He represented France for one and half decade, and from his statement should we assume that he doesn't feel any loyalty to that country because the majority of the population is not following his religion? This is the first time I am hearing a statement from some big international player that he preferred a particular club mainly because of religion. Extremely disappointing.
Why do you disappoint him? Benzema has the right to decide moving to SPL for his own reasons. We must respect his reason, he is in the right country if he wants to play in a Muslim country. It doesn't mean he only wants to play in a Muslim country, he only feels happy that he can play in a Muslim country for the next seasons. I think we don't need to bother a player's reason to join any league.

Indeed. The next season will be interesting since both Benzema and Ronaldo are in different clubs. So, they will be rivals, which one to be the best striker in the next season. However, if there is no significant change both in Al Nassr and Al Ittihad, I think Benzema will have a bigger chance to be the top scorer. Al Ittihad looks stronger, especially since they have Benzema for the next season. SPL atmosphere may be as well as the top league in Europe for the next season.  Grin

Don't get your hopes up that the atmosphere in the SPL will be like Europe's top league. In the past, we had hoped that CSL would become one of the big leagues in Asia and the atmosphere would be like Europe's top leagues, but what now? CSL is just like an amateur league. As additional information, it's not just Benzema who will play for Al-Ittihad, because there are rumors that Kante will also be going to Al-Ittihad soon, all of this is getting more interesting to look forward to.

In the past, MLS was making such sensational transfers. They can even do this once again with the transfer of Messi. I welcome such approaches. Because, above all, such transfers increase the interest of the people of the region in football and transform football into a larger global sports organization. That's why Benzema and Ronaldo playing football in Arabia is a mutual benefit for everyone. I hope we continue to hear more sensational transfer news in SPL and MLS in the near future.

I just pointed out one of benzema's motivation to play on ittihad. I knew that if that's gonna be a sensitive talk, but that's what he said on his interview. Another reason was ronaldo.

Ronaldo was suggesting him to join in saudi pro league. Ronaldo's suggestion was able attracting him to come.

It's slowly but surely if some saudi pro league will be owning all the great players that have ever played in real madrid when it was in best era.

Oh really! The best league is Saudi, lol. I think they are thinking of seeing Messi, CR7 face each other, it would be the only good thing about going to that league, there is no level there, this is a league to die with pockets full of money, and the players (CR7) are crossing their fingers, but it will not happen ., but it will not happen.

Just watch out in some few years and see the power of money. They’re already attracting other big players into their league which makes the world attention turn into them. If not that Messi was linked to transfer to the South American league, the Saudi league is most times mentioned than the MLS. Even in this forum, I haven’t come across any thread about MLS but we already have a thread discussing about Saudi league. That’s the difference you can spot already.

The thing about Messi to American "soccer" has been sung for years, in fact it is very possible, it has not yet been confirmed, but the president of Conmebol, he stated that perhaps Messi would play in one of the South American club cups.

Messi joining the MLS against the offer he received to join the Saudi side is based on his own choice and I’m sure the MLS will receive more recognition than before because of his influence in football. Everybody has their decision to make on which team to play for amidst the financial benefits involved. Let’s stop comparing this two leagues, let them pave way for themselves in order to be more recognised globally.

So, it is a movement that needs to be formalized between the confederations, to have Messi playing in one of the most exciting inter-leagues in the world with Brazilian and Argentine teams, add the rest of the South American clubs + the United States.  Cool

*Playing in the South American interclubs requires bureaucracy, but it can happen.

Saudi Arabian league isn't the best league in the world but considering the kind of huge investment that's being put in place by the league organizers, I think it'll be one of the best leagues in the world in due time from now.
Messi's refusal to rule out any possibility of joining the Saudi League is personal I think and I think it'll be very good for everyone to respect his opinion and to stop comparing who's better between him and CR7

Messi is always in the spotlight indeed the latest news is that Messi is willing to join Inter Miami but previously there was other news he did not refuse to join the Saudi league rumors he delayed a year to join there meaning he still has an interest in joining anywhere it's just that next season he wants to try the experience in the American league, Messi  father plays a role in a negotiation.
Of course he's been in the spotlight in the transfer market after Messi became a player on a free transfer this season.  But in other words, Messi wants to find new challenges next season by joining Inter Miami.
Now this is an important point if a large salary offer is not necessarily able to convince the players to accept their offer but it all depends on the situation and atmosphere that makes them turn to another team.

We hope all the decisions he makes in this transfer window are the best for him. I think for now Al Nassr is one of the Saudi Arabian clubs that has caught the attention of football spectators this season because of Ronaldo's presence in their squad.

There are speculations that he was given a bigger deal in Inter Miami than the one given from the Saudi side club, Al Hilal. Even after he retires from football, the contract will last a long time. I'm sure it has some stakes in valuable enterprises and companies in the United States that will net him significantly more money in the long run. It seemed like a decent idea and a good move to me, and I wish him the best of luck in his new career path.
Well messi has officially rejected Al hillal's offer to join them, He prefers mls as his target for next season and it became a reality after messi clarified this on social media. Apart from that I think al hilal can do signings for other star players which they can do to strengthen the squad in the next season.

I think the Saudi Arabian League competition next season in the race for the title will be even more exciting because Al Ittihad recently brought in two quality players where Kante and Benzema are figures who will help Al Ittihad to defend the title next season. Apart from that, Al Nassar seems to be targeting top European players to provide the right duel for Ronaldo next season.

but unfortunately CR7 vs. Messi Maybe we won't see him anymore...

unfortunately that big comparison between messi and ronaldo ended, i remember that every year i was laughing when fifa games and pro evolution soccer games (PES) came out it was a competition between two video game companies that on the cover of their games one when they put an image of messi the other one put an image of cristiano ronaldo and it was something polarized in that every year only the image of these two players appeared and i kept laughing because fifa which is produced by eletronic arts put an ugly face of players, but with time they got better but as a consequence they consume a lot of computer resources

but it is a fact that with messi in the usa the world will forget about him because he will be playing in a league that is not even popular and in a team that does not have a good position in the table, so messi really seems to have gone to usa aware that he will be saying goodbye from soccer, honestly I would prefer him to stay in france where at least he could have retired in a good way, but the offer from us was the best one from PSG and in the us he won't even make any effort because of the team in which he will play and a meaningless team

OK guys.. now it is official. Confirmation from ESPN:

https://www.espn.in/football/blog-transfer-talk/story/4943303/transfer-talk-psg-hatch-plan-to-reunite-silva-and-mbappe

Messi will move to Al Hilal, which currently participates in the Saudi Professional League once his deal with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of this season. This was a very sensible move from Messi. PSG was treating him without any respect and there is no point in staying somewhere by compromising on self-respect. And there is more. Rumors are that Sergio Busquets may also join Al Hilal. Jordi Alba is yet another player who is rumored to be in talks with Al Hilal at this point. Anyway, next season of the Saudi Professional League is going to be super exciting.

@Sithara007 it’s not an official announcement because Messi's team has said that this news is not true and any decision will be taken at the end of the season. Also PSG never disrespected him and if you’re talking about that current suspension then its a right call because in the future any player would go on a leave without permission and cite Messi’s case hence it’s an right call by them to suspend Messi for breaking the club rule.
I think that if that is the case , things could go better for Messi, the truth is that I wouldn't mind if Messi had to pay a clause with money, I think that what that clause payment will gain in Arabia will be like taking a hair out of a cat, however, Messi should not doubt for a single second, I have not yet seen that it is Completely official, but I hope it is, and this means that this league is taking the lead, the Arabs are taking these Leagues like the others best in the world if Stars come to contribute to their fútbol, not bad for them.

Lionel Messi knows how huge the financial package that comes with playing in the Saudi Arabian league. But what makes the decision to play in Saudi Arabia come next very difficult for Lionel Messi is that his beloved Barcelona wants to bring him back to the Camp Nou.
Lionel Messi loves Barcelona so dearly and would do anything possible for the fans of the club who are used to worshiping him but can he be able to turn down the huge financial rewards that comes with playing in the Saudi League? Time will tell

What you say is very true, what happens is the following, if we take into consideration the way in which they took Messi out of Barcelona, it was something very unfair for what Messi represents as a player and as a human being, no matter how badly I set a They cannot treat him with little humanity, because Barcelona has so many trophies thanks to Messi, because I am sure that without him they would not have achieved so much, because the rival at that time was always Real Madrid and that is something that we all remember. , so the way they took him out is not correct, I would not go, I would leave that cycle already closed and I would go to a quieter place to finish my degree.

Yes.. as far as I know, Messi has confirmed that he is moving to Inter Miami. The financial details were not revealed though. I am sure that he would have landed a lucrative deal, although it may be not as good as the one offered by the Saudi side (£345million per year was being offered by Al Hilal). The offer from the MLS club maybe similar to the one offered to David Beckham by LA Galaxy back in 2007. Messi might be offered an opportunity to become one of the co-owners of Inter Miami. And that will be financially rewarding for him in the long run.

Well, honestly, I believe that Messi should not go to Inter Miami, firstly because the MLS is for me a way to retire from football and Messi is an iconic player and it is not fair that he burns out in that league, I think things here They can be seen that way, as far as I'm concerned I think that Al Hilal's proposition is the best for him, besides going to Arabia is a calmer country, they would love him, they would never go against Messi like the fans did PSG, things are as they should be, legends like these who still play should feel supported and never stop, once both Messi and CR7 retire from football they will leave a huge void.

Messi interest in Inter Miami: PSG, Barca teammate Neymar knew all along

Quote

The soccer world is still wrapping its head around Lionel Messi's bombshell announcement this week stating his intention to join MLS club Inter Miami CF. Well, most of the soccer world.

One of the Argentine legend's closest friends – former FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain teammate Neymar – claims he was aware of Messi's impending move to South Beach well before the decision was made public.

"I already knew," the Brazilian superstar responded with a chuckle when asked to comment during an interview with NBA Brazil in Florida.

"... I already knew that he would come here and we already talked. I said to him that he would be very happy because of the city, the lifestyle and the opportunity of playing and living here in Miami."

Saudi Arabia is considering a bold strategy to revolutionize their league by acquiring high-priced players. Yet, I remain skeptical about their ability to recoup the funds or achieve their desired goals within such a short timeframe. While I am open to different perspectives, I would like to hear what others think about this matter.

I don't know if what I'm saying is true or not, but it refers to the local media that I read. why Saudi Pro League clubs are brave and able to bring in star players with very fantastic salaries. after I investigated, the majority shareholder of Newcastle United, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) has officially acquired four Saudi Arabian League clubs as well as Al Nassr which is currently defended by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Apart from Al Nassr, the three top Saudi Arabian clubs which were acquired by the company owned by the Saudi Arabian prince Muhammad Bin Salman are Al Ittihad, Al Ahli and Al Hilal. as TalkSPORT also reports, PIF has turned all four clubs into companies. they own a 75 percent stake in each club, while 25 percent is controlled by a non-profit foundation.
In short, according to PIF, the acquisition of the four top clubs will open up commercial opportunities not only in football, but also in other sports in Saudi Arabia. well, so something like that. and if true, I just found out that these four clubs are owned by one person, namely the prince of Saudi Arabia. that's why, they dared to bring in a very high salary star. besides that, PIF cooperates with the Saudi sports ministry. in essence, they have a commercial purpose in their way.

Messi knows better why he retired from football to soccer, he was so disappointed for been rejected by the Barcelona management. so he just need a vacation from Eurpo and went to America. Messi is just a Barcelona player nothing more. at 35 top club should be biding for him, but psg chased him out and Barcelona rejected him, even his friend Pep Guadiola never bid for him to play in Manchester city.

when Ronaldo was at 35, he was a top scorer in Italian league, Pep Guadiola bid for him too,
the Saudi Arabia league is now a place every players wants to play becauseof Ronaldo effect.

Yes that's right. And he was very lucky that the golden generation of the Spanish national team played in Barcelona. If not for them, we would have heard less PR around Messi.
And yes, I will always be laughed at by these hypocrites like Guardiola who have been repeating for decades that "Messi is the best player of all time", but at the same time they do not want to see him in their club. This is super funny  Grin

While world football fans almost assumed that Messi would play for Al Hillah not Barcelona because of there was a big offer for him. But Messi has completely moved away from that thinking. He did not think money was important. However, the financial aspect was the main reason for leaving Barcelona. But in this regard it is mysterious for many, he joined the Major League Soccer side Inter Miami after an ending to the various rumors about him.
That's because Hilal offer very tempting they gave was very large money so many of us assumed that Messi would play at there, I do not know either, previously Messi moving to PSG was because of the money PSG offered. Yes this is mysterious or maybe there are no friends so Messi doesn't want to Al Hilal club, because the rumors also Messi will play with Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez in Inter Miami.
Not only that, we assume that Lionel Messi will agree to join Al Hilal because he will compete with Cristiano Ronaldo who first went to Saudi Arabia and joined Al Nassr. We, especially myself, maybe these two players want to compete for the last time in the same league. Also joining players with star labels like Benzema will make Lionel Messi tempted to participate in feeling the competition in Saudi Arabia. But now the rumors about that have been broken by the joining of Lione Messi to Inter Miami.
This reminds me of the statement of Messi's father who previously said never talk about Messi's move to the Arab League, and it was like a signal that Messi was not interested in going to Al Hilal.

I saw a little news that Kante has reached an agreement, it's just that there are a few obstacles from medical tests so this process is a little hampered, I know that Kante has a long history of injuries when he was with Chelsea who was almost absent for a long time there, maybe with the injury he has not fully recovered but I also look forward to this exciting news.
As it began with Ronaldo, it will not just end with Benzema or Kante in this transfer season. More Saudi clubs will be trying to get a piece of the media too by targeting and bringing big stars over to play for their club in the Saudi League. We could see (not 100%) more players like Sergio Ramos from PSG, Alexis Sanchez, Angel Di Maria from Juventus , Sergio Busquets, Roberto Firmino from Liverpool, Jordi Alba from Barcelona, Hugo Lloris from Tottenham, Wilfred Zaha from Crystal Palace and Riyad Mahrez from Manchester City.

Offers from Saudi clubs are always enticing and difficult to refuse, especially now when the league is getting some attention.

Messi has made the right decision and I'm sure only he knows the answer to his choice, I think also if Messi enters the Saudi league then this league will be big because there are many star players who play and will meet other star players who play in the Saudi league especially CR7, I see Messi has chosen his final destination even at the top clubs in MLS.

Not only Al Hillah, even Barcelona, which hoped for Messi to return home, was not achieved, in the end, Messi chose MLS with Inter Miami, a bottom club, which maybe with Messi's arrival, it will color the league and improve their position even better.
I mean I understand that he wanted to be basically just doing something that would make sense for him alone, that's the thing that matters to him, that's the thing that makes the most sense for him. It is basically "his" club at this point, he will get share of the club and he will get share of the revenue, and all that.

Barcelona was a difficult choice because he wanted to be able to say that he is part of it and all that, and Saudi league would be like they paid him to play, just like any other team, maybe more money that's true but he would have no control at all, it would be just another owner paying his salary. He wanted some other type of deal, something that makes more sense, something that makes him feel like he is at the top table and not just a worker for someone.
