Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it

Really pathetic for Monero team to post in here, shows their desperation

Desperate times always call for desperate measures Roll Eyes
Indeed. Essentially that argument broke down into them saying that we are a grossly undervalued and more code efficient version of them.

I've been watching this coin and trying to decide whether to invest or not and the last few days of posts have proven to me what this coin is all about.

Unsubbed.

Will you guys stop getting so offended by what other devs say?

He didn't come in here to start shit. He was asked by someone what he thought of our whitepaper and code. He gave his opinion. Stop attacking him.

Jesus fuck grow up.

+1

I'd like to see a reasoned response to FluffyPony's criticisms by Ryno.

There is no problem with devs sharing their thoughts, especially when asked... but fluffyponys tone was both aggressive and condescending... Not to mention a clear advertisement of his own coin. But I'm sure his criticisms were objective and unbiased.

Why wouldn't you just delete the line "when clearly there is no more NIZKP in the source than exists in Monero's keyimage system." instead of striking through since it is obvious fud? Advertising, that's why.

Because anyone that gets email notifications has the full text of what I said anyway. If you'd prefer, I'll gladly remove the strikethrough, since the point is valid. Also, if there's a miraculous advancement in NIZKP implementation in the source please do point it out to me and I will absolutely publicly admit my gross inability to notice it.

Actually there is quite a difference in our signatures. You have a vested interest in yours that is quantifiable fiscally. Just because you state and others state they don't want to get into a this coin vs. that coin debate; quite frankly you literally already did that using your own coin.

You'll find it's the other way around. Someone posted it to the Monero subreddit asking for comment. If we're going to go by "shots fired" rules, then you'll I'm just going to quote the Godfather at you: "you come into my house on the day my daughter is to be married, and you ask me to do murder for money."

Nonetheless, my commentary was centered around the claim of NIZKP, when clearly there is no more NIZKP in the source than exists in Monero's keyimage system. The rest of your comment is spurious - of course the signatures themselves will be different, you're implementing them without unlinkability.

Ignore all that, I misunderstood which signatures we were talking about. The line below still stands;)

Aaaand on that note I'm going to go back to my corner of BTCT before I get accused of coming here to "fud" when, let's be honest, I don't much care:)

Not sure if I'm misunderstanding Longenecker or everyone else is. My initial comments were made after reviewing 1 of the 2 commits to the "anon" branch, the 2nd commit didn't exist at the time. It would be impossible for me to have foreknowledge as to what would be contained in the commit, and any idiot can look at the first commit and also observe that it didn't contain generateRingSignature(), nor were the verification functions wired up. I'm certainly not "busted" or "fudding", and if that's anyone's takeaway from me making a clear observation then they need to seriously revisit that persecution complex of theirs.
It would have been possible to poke your head into IRC though if you had a question.

*edit* Also, are you really trying to advertise for Monero here?

I didn't have a question - my comments were because someone posted it to the Monero subreddit - "ShadowCash Ring Signature Whitepaper released -- Any comments?"

And as pookielax31 surmised, I am part of the Monero Core Team. I am not here to advertise anything any more than you are here trying to be a spokesman for Julian Assange. It's just a profile signature on a forum.

If you look at the timestamps, Fluffy pony made those comments before shadowsend v2 was open source...

Busted...

Fudders gonna fud...Great chance to snatch up more SDC at these levels Wink

I see nothing wrong with healthy debate about code. We can learn from each other. Its not all or nothing. Many of us have eggs in multiple baskets.

Diversification of thought and investment portfolios is a good thing as is constructive criticism
You digress. And surely you jest. I never said anything about debate being bad or learning from each other is bad.
