Bounty for your funding and short term trading for real earnings. Bounty is like your gas to fuel your trades and upsize your capital. But it should not be like 100% of it. You can always try investing in good projects for mid to long term.
Your start up capital is quiet good but will suggest you do not single out one but combine both to see the outcome. Short term trading could fetch you something as well bounty campaigns so in the long run you realize you making progress in life since one might even act as a restorer should things go bad at one side.
You can learn how to trade and at the same time do bounty campaigns. Profit from bounty you can use in the day trading

actually whichever you choose, both are profitable. so it depends on those who are interested in choosing which one. because you can all choose. if I personally choose both, because trade or bounty campaigns are equally profitable.
400 $ - is a fairly small amount of investment. It seems to me you can not diversify this amount to invest it entirely in any one promising project. But naturally, the choice of this project should be approached with full responsibility, because it will depend on whether you earn something or lose everything you have.

In my situation much better to participate in bounty because there will be chances of gaining rewards or shall continue growimg our money in time to time .Trading is too risky due to the market is on hype. 
Why don't you do both of them. You can insert some money to your budget from bounty and also you can earn money with daily trade but if you are sufficent to do daily trade because you have to have really big informations and experiences.
Personally, I use the bounty program to earn money, since I still do not have extra money to invest. But if you have 400 USD, you could become an investor and pick up some promising crypto assets or ico, as well as reduce the risk percentage of joining the bounty programs. I think this would be the best option. But still choose for you. The main thing to remember is the basic rules of investment and do not fall for all sorts of temptations to make quick money.
if you want to take the risk of loss in tranding you can just do the tranding because it is quite profitable and the money directly increases of course (not like a bounty that has to wait for the token listing in an exchange) but if you want to play it safe and without capital you can follow the bounty quite profitable until now
This week I am confident that trading gives.bigger rewards than bounty. I took around 2 Eth of rewards without big effort. bat, XLM and bznt.
I will suggest you do short trading than bounty compaign. Short trading will double your your amount of money you have presently but you need to learn the technical know how in trading cryptocurrency pairs and also applying risk management to safe guard your portfolio. But bounty compaign might take all your time specially if you participate in a wrong compaign

Both are different areas.Comparing apple and pear is something like.Why not do both at the same time?If you have time, you can easily achieve both.It can be done very easily with a planned system.So I prefer both.
