You just can't rebrand Bitcoin because it would require consensus where majority is agree with your "rebranding" idea. Even if majority agree, that would make confusion, community-split and maybe chain-split just because your idea.
And what is the need to rebrand bitcoin. Everything is going OK and the majority holds the same opinion, I feel. It is for sure an idea that would be refuted by most of the people on this forum. And the arguments that are put forward by the OP are not strong enough to move the majority opinion in the favour of REBRANDING for the bitcoin. It is not required most importantly!
I think rebranding does not need to be done on bitcoin, bitcoin is already famous, it already has a lot of fans. Rebranding needs to be done only for something that fails and wants to restart, if bitcoin changed name then I think it will not pull anymore.
Exactly...it would be a total waste of time, in fact! Instead there are many other issues regarding bitcoin that need foremost attention at this point of time.

No, rebranding is not required. There are so many different altcoins around, that's how it's dazzling in the eyes. Let it remain as a rarity. )))

Bitcoin is shapeless since it is on the digital world, the shape we see on the internet is only the imaginary form by artists, if you are looking for a company who will stand in the name of Bitcoin then I think that's the one we need and not rebranding.

The Re-Branding of bitcoin is actually no need to change ,it is just they think that bitcoin is getting low. All the new competitors of bitcoin are just emitating the ideas of bitcoin and process and with that if people who are very into it with the bitcoin may actually help them make it better and to avoid having rebranding because it may cause a big impact to the future and maybe it can also brings the bitcoin to be face out or banned or be gone. So for me no need to change but just need to have a security and troubleshooting for some maintenance and that's all.

Rebranding is the creation of a new look and feel for an established product or company. The usual goal of rebranding is to influence a customer's perception about a product or service or the company overall by revitalizing the brand and making it seem more modern and relevant to the customer's needs.
First thing first you have to put a source/credits/links of what you are saying that is completely copied from other sites and not from your own words,
Source: https://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/rebranding

Bitcoin is not a company, that you mentioned for several times for rebrand. And what you have said for the rebranding are totally nonsense, if you're talking about its bad rep from the silk road, scamming, hacking. It's like you're saying every money (local currencies) and some online money like paypal have to rebrand too? All kind of currencies are used in any sort of illegal doings.

Regarding to its picture of Casascius bitcoin of course its only a model of a so-called physical bitcoin since bitcoin doesn't have any physical characteristics at all, a BTC sign is enough.

Most people see the name and associate it with some physical coin. The media is also not helping with this
If you're also one of them thinking that bitcoin is a physical coin then all I can say is there's no cure of foolishness.

If there's something to be rebrand its BCH IMO.

Bitcoin is a great brand name and it has come a long way to make such a solid name spread across every corner of the world. As a matter of fact, I have witnessed instances where novices refered to the all coins as bitcoin. Rebranding is not necessary. The sky is the limit once the speed and charges issues are solved.

Do you think Bitcoin needs some Rebranding?

Rebranding is the creation of a new look and feel for an established product or company. The usual goal of rebranding is to influence a customer's perception about a product or service or the company overall by revitalizing the brand and making it seem more modern and relevant to the customer's needs.

First off, the name is a bit confusing? - Most people see the name and associate it with some physical coin. The media is also not helping with this

perception, because with every article about Bitcoin, pictures are shown of physical Casascius bitcoins.

The other aspect of Bitcoin that can be rebranded is it's bad reputation that has been built up and shilled up ..over years.

Every company gets to a point where they need to re-think their original goals and future plans... Why not Bitcoin? We have come a long way

since 2009 and making small changes will help us to take this into a new future, without the baggage of the past.

What would the pro's and cons of this be, and also the impact?

Let's discuss  Grin Grin Grin

I think it's actually a good idea. If the majority of the community agrees, we could easily get the new designs done for bitcoin, I'm sure it could help the marketing purposes.

It's not necessary and it would probably be very hard to do rebranding.
I don't see one good thing in this. Do you realize what would be the consequence of this?
1. Hundreds or even thousands of websites would have to be changed - updated.
2. You think others would just leave name Bitcoin? At least Bitcoin Cash people would grab this opportunity and stole name ASAP - there is no one who would say they can't do that. And probably also hundreds of other people would want to acquire this name.
3. Overall confusion in crypto. Definitely not good for adoption.
4. Exchanges... I can't even imagine all the troubles this would cause them.
And probably a lot of other things.

So in my opinion: NO, we shouldn't re-brand Bitcoin.

I really don't know why we should rebrand Bitcoin ? The name is already popular and well-known, I don't see the point of doing it..

Not the best of ideas. Just when bitcoin is a year away from its 10th birthday, someone decided to rebrand it. And start all over again? Rebranding means the product is failing. Bitcoin is definitely not failing. It’s on its way to another record run. There may be some bumps along the way, but this is normal in any currency.

no need to do rebranding, because with good or bad bitcoin topics will greatly affect the market and will automatically become famous with this bitcoin topic, and I believe that bitcoin currently has a good perception among consumers and producers.

Why the f would you that? Bitcoin is not a company or something like that, it's an idea (and its name is well recognizable). Who rebrands in crypto? Dead coins or some ICOs just to pump the price, Bitcoin doesn't need that

I think that bitcoin does not need rebranding at all. This coin was the first of the Cryptocurrency. Many people do not know any other cryptocurrency except bitcoin. The name bitcoin is on everyone's lips. Bitcoin is largely popular due to its name. Rebranding bitcoin can only damage its popularity.

No need, with time, bitcoin will gain massive acceptance and all the greedy and fools, who wanted to make some quick money and got scammed, will be out of the boat, just wait a while.

Rebranding can also be good for advertising the cryptocurrency just like what happened with Raiblocks after they rebranded it the price went up, but how about Bitcoin, there is no company that has the control to change its name because no one owns it. It is possible but we can't change it that easily because some people will disagree with it. Personally I also don't like the idea of rebranding Bitcoin because it will just create confusion to other people especially those who don't know that much about cryptocurrencies with will also be the cause of confusion on exchanges because not all will agree to change it, and the name Bitcoin has already been know so why change it. There's a lot of important things that should be improve in Bitcoin network so for me this is not needed.

Old is gold, But NEW is BITCOIN. Bitcoin has shaken the whole financial system to rethink about their misdeed. It has created a brand already for itself. Rebranding is not a solution currently, as a lot of people still don't know about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies still. It still has a long way to penetrate into the market, acceptance, and visibility still need a sustainable and persistent boost. The rebranding will take a lot of resources, efforts and still not the right time. Rebranding/changing name will dilute the existence of bitcoin.

The same time should be spent on scaling bitcoin to the next level.
