I don’t think rebranding is necessary in Bitcoin case and it might cause more bad than good since Bitcoin is proven to be successful. Rebranding might bring confusion to the users and lost existing and potential users.

no we do not need that. because rebranding is basically done because people think their product has failed to live up to the expectation and in order to get their customer back they have to change  some stuff and try to attract them once again. this is not true about bitcoin at all.
so far bitcoin despite all its possible shortcomings like the short term higher fees, has lived up to the expectation. it is a decentralized perfectly working currency that has been processing monetary transactions for over 9 years now.

I think now the reason to re-brand Bitcoin is not strong and it will face difficult way to do that. All community should agree with this and the one thing to be considered is how to contact the creator to get his/their approval for re-branding? I do not know how to do that with anonymous character of Satoshi until now, so it will be impossible I think. What would be easy to do is campaign to educate people what the Bitcoin is.

Who needs rebranding? Those shitcoin that honestly don't even surve the high purpose or they have one but are hoping to gain attention with rebranding. I mean nothing against rebranding as NEO used to be called antishates like year ago. Although Bitcoin has built itself a good brand. I donot actually think that rebranding it will do any good as it may lead to confusion between some people. Many people know about it and because of it being the first this is really not necessary thing to do.

My opinion is that bitcoin has become a well known brand after almost 10 years. It is a pity to rebrand bitcoin. The name is catchy, Bit for internet and Coin for money.

You just can't rebrand Bitcoin because it would require consensus where majority is agree with your "rebranding" idea. Even if majority agree, that would make confusion, community-split and maybe chain-split just because your idea.

Probably not a good idea. Bitcoin already has it's name decently spread out to the masses; even though people's impressions with bitcoin are probably 50% positive 50% negative. Also knowing rebranding bitcoin might just be an easy win for BCH. Just my 2 satoshis though.

no need to rebranding for the name of bitcoin that over time has more and more demand, if you look at the purpose of bitcoin itself then there is no need for repetition for now.

It is really no need! If what is bitcoin creates from the very beginning,is what bitcoin will be, 'til it lasts and remain in the crypto world.

Do you think Bitcoin needs some Rebranding?

Rebranding is the creation of a new look and feel for an established product or company. The usual goal of rebranding is to influence a customer's perception about a product or service or the company overall by revitalizing the brand and making it seem more modern and relevant to the customer's needs.

First off, the name is a bit confusing? - Most people see the name and associate it with some physical coin. The media is also not helping with this

perception, because with every article about Bitcoin, pictures are shown of physical Casascius bitcoins.

The other aspect of Bitcoin that can be rebranded is it's bad reputation that has been built up and shilled up ..over years.

Every company gets to a point where they need to re-think their original goals and future plans... Why not Bitcoin? We have come a long way

since 2009 and making small changes will help us to take this into a new future, without the baggage of the past.

What would the pro's and cons of this be, and also the impact?
