First sign is to have the betting apps on your phone, some of us see it as a means of survive in this poor economy, But its really eaten up the little savings we have already. Its very difficult to get away from gambling, its only God that can save one from this addict.
Some are just lucky to be winning everyday, and they never see any evil in it, but those that lose everyday called it evil, that's the problem of gamble.

Even if the mobile application of the gambling was their in your mobile, the self control is the most important one.Until your finger touch the application, the application will not open.Like wise until you play, the game was not played. Some gambling addict face all the small savings into gambling by finding the big win.But they should play the gambling with the time limit, then he will not get addicted.People with good gambling experience will do gambling game on Sunday and from Monday he start to work.So this time limit allow them to control his mind from the addiction is my opinion.

Sometimes, the thought of depositing money and losing it in a gambling platform pains me. I guess that's one of my strong points since I recognize that the loss of any amount of money is something that I really cannot stomach. I'm thankful that even if you give me extra money and a very accessible gambling platform, I'd choose to keep the money and spend it on other things or rather save it. Self-control is something that not a lot of gambler have, but once you have employed it, it's hard to get off of it.

3. They don't regret losing, but just think it's part of gambling.
-snip-

In my opinion, gambling addicts and non-addicts both regret when they lose their game. The only thing that differentiates them is that people who are addicted to gambling will continue to play regardless of their financial condition and they tend to be aggressive and don't care about their condition. Whereas people who are not addicted to gambling, they tend to think rationally and keep thinking about their financial condition and tend to hold back from gambling again.

Agree, regret has nothing to do with addiction because it is natural to feel regret in anything we do in life. You have explained clearly about the difference between the regret of addicted and non addicted, yes it is about how they deal with the regret. Actually it is simple to indicate that we are addicted or not, but the hardest thing is to realize it because even if we see the sign of addiction but sometime we do not admit it ourselves as we think we still do it right while in fact it has lead us into something bad step by step.

These signs suggest a healthy relationship with gambling and indicate that you are not addicted. What other signs do you know of?
This is new. Usually what we see is the opposite like : What are the signs that you are addicted to gambling? But, I think that can also work the same, I mean if you can't find your signs there, that simply means you are not addicted to gambling yet. That's great and don't be confident this time saying that you will play a little harder.

You never know, what if you exceed within the limit? And once you are at that point, things are going to be harder now to return. What can happen next is you will just go with the flow like many other addicted gamblers. You are lucky if there are people that will care about your condition because they might help you get over it.

It seems to me that every gambler has exceeded their limits and lost money that was needed for other purposes. In my opinion, this is quite normal practice, because learning from other people's experience is a difficult task. And in fact, bad experience is also experience, so after you exceed your limits several times, you should learn to limit yourself. If this does not happen, then you are not good not only with self-control, but also with the construction of logical chains.

The limitations in the game are very printed, and of course, when I see a person play a lot, and suddenly he stops everything and leaves, either with a loss or a profit, it is an indication that he is a person who knows what he is. doing, I like to make analogies on this topic, for example, a person who likes to eat sweets, if he eats a lot of sweets all the time, in the future he may suffer from diabetes, and the question here is that sugar feeds cancer and all the diseases that have been and will be, and who does not like sweet? to many, but what happens, you have to control the sweet, it is said that if we eat less sweet it is healthier, that's how it happens in games of chance, if we bet only what we are willing to lose, we will only lose that, we take the pleasure and we continue with our life.

Another indication is that a person can go to play in a casino every day, and leads his normal life, that is, he has control of his things, he does not abandon his family and children (if he has them), he does not abandon a single one. his health, he is a person who plays sports, he is a person who works, who does not mess with anyone or look for fights, if it gets too late then that person does not go to the casino, those things are what may be indications that He is a normal player without any type of vice or addiction.

Another feature is that you don't spend all your money at once in the casino, if you have a salary, you don't spend it, nor are you asking your friends for loans, nor are you putting yourself in danger with mortgages or something in the bank, if we see that he is a person who does not do those things, it could be said that he likes the game, he enjoys it but he is not addicted, regardless of what others say, sometimes other people are very hurtful when they talk about others, apart from if The person pays attention to what he says, moreover, this type of behavior is what we must avoid, each person lives their life as they want, and the best possible, and if they like casinos and do not hurt anyone, I think it is the best indication that he is not an addicted player.

I think it all starts and ends with self-control. If you have high self control you would never feel trapped by your hobbies because you can quit anytime to return back anytime as well. As I always said gambling addiction is bit exeggarated. I understand why people say that its hard to overcome but be sure, you need to develop your self-control and even self-esteem. You need to feel you are one that handling your life. At that point you won't feel addicted.
And it's better not to make gambling a hobby because it will make you come back again and again and even later, there will be times when you don't want to leave gambling. If you can treat gambling as entertainment, you will not be trapped by the many temptations you see while using the internet. And you even leave advertisements containing gambling because you can divide your time between gambling and doing other activities. You need to handle this well so that you don't experience gambling addiction, especially if there are already several people around you who have experienced it.

Signs that are common to know whether you are an addict to gambling or not are rare because you can be addicted to it and you will literally feel you aren't.Before someone can realise that he or she is addicted to something, means that it has already caused a problem to your mental health.Addiction comes gradually until it has eaten the whole of you.But I can say the only way in which one can know that he is not addicted to gambling is when you still have the ability to control yourself when the urge to gamble comes,if you have found yourself in a situation whereby you find it difficult to say No when something in you tells you to go and gamble, that means you are already and addict, but you don't know.It becomes obvious when it has caused a harm to you, maybe the urge made you to steal, just to gamble and you are being caught,it is then you'll realise how much harm it has caused you,it is also then you begin to think about it and have the consciousness that you are already addicted to it without your knowledge.
Well for someone who have mastered his self practice and know the limits to almost everything he does,  will definitely not be needing some signs to know when you becoming addicted or being an addicts, me I already know when I am going all in excessively and at that I always find ways to keep my gambling practice on check at regular basis and this is one practice that I will like others to also consider at some point because this will help you to self evaluate yourself and act accordingly without possibly needing to make a list.

But for someone who hasn't mastered the act of self-control, they will find this list helpful and accurate,  this could produce some positive results in the long run,  but not everyone will be needing the list at some point altogether this ops work is supper and helpful for newbies.

A great list or rather signs put together, but to be honest, I don't need to know all this before I know within myself if I am addicted or not addicted to gambling, but then again, its still a great list regardless of how I view it.
And by the way, point with the bullet point six(6) shouldn't be or shouldn't have been included since that does not really tell whether someone is addicted or not, for example, I am not a gambling addict but i still keep all my gambling activities away from my family, this is because the ideal of gambling is not completely seen as moral, most especially for my wife, so the fact that a gambler is not honest and accountable with their gambling activity does not mean he or she is addicted to gambling, they might just decide to keep it away from family and friends for privacy sake, so that point does not really qualify to be there.

Why to complicated? too long for the list.

One prove-point you're not addicted are: You're not deposit again, again and again until your money is empty (worst-case selling all of your stuff and going to debt) and don't have money for gambling again.

That's one points (really proven) you're not addicted to gamblin.
Pretty simplistic and it basically sums it all up lol. Smart guy. And while I would agree with you there's some signs that are bordering over "is it still considered grounds for gambling addiction" and all that which people would be more than eager to be clarified about, so a little clarification like this and expounding upon the idea of gambling addiction is necessary even though at the end of the day, it all boils down to proper management of losses and funds.

So while you are right, these people who's discussing about it aren't specifically wrong either just because they are expounding upon ideas about gambling addiction. Although in my opinion the post's a little longer than what I had expected when most points can easily just be merged into a single symptom or sign.

I think the closet sign one who gambles can experience and not have the impression of some addiction at play is not having that pull towards gambling while anticipating a game a when it comes to the sportsbook and having the well enough resources but, could easily walk in and out of a casino building without placing a single bet.

When it has to do with online casinos, you have some huge money that just dropped in or maybe your at your least on resources and the choices of increase doesn't itemise gambling. That would be some good sign that, your around a safe zone with gambling.

Gambling isn't for everyone but, for the responsible.

I could be a wrong perception I have on gambling addicts, but I have noticed that keeping one's gambling activities to oneself and not letting others (who care about us) know we are partaking in such things helps to accelerate the transition from healthy gambling towards addiction.

For example, many of the news people share here which have anything to do with addicted people, usually implies the person hid their addiction (or tried to hide it) from their family members. It is the case of the young man who ended his life after wagering his college money and I think it was also the case with the Brazilian girl who stole graduation funds from his companions to gamble.

If that is the case, it would be constructive to let people who loves us know, so they can check on us and tell us whether we are going too far into it or not, before it gets worse.

but for me those who can judge the signs of addiction or not addiction are not only ourselves but sometimes we need the people closest to us to judge our behavior whether there are these signs. because sometimes we always ignore the signs of addiction but consider themselves to have no signs of addiction. on the one hand, sometimes someone who feels he is okay when he sees threads like this he still says he is not an addict.
so that judgments like that sometimes we need the help of others to see our behavior.
Indeed, only the people closest to us can recognize whether we are addicted to gambling or not. But they have to see what we do every day so they can judge that we are addicted to gambling. And if they only see us infrequently, likely, they haven't been able to see or identify that we are addicted to gambling. People addicted to gambling may be very good at hiding their gambling addiction so that others cannot recognize it because they will also say they are fine. It's as if nothing has changed for gambling addicts when they need help from others. And other people may only recognize someone addicted to gambling after he has developed a severe gambling addiction and is in dire need of help.

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
I still believe it sometimes goes against most of your enlisted suppositions...
If you're very observant, you'll be able to confirm this particular appraisal; when a non-addict gambles, it's not necessarily about the thrill, it's sometimes about the interest in it at the time - when this is done and nothing shows up instead they keep losing, what usually pops up in their minds would be to keep PERSISTING (except they're outta cash) if not, they'll always wanna recover their losses - what happens in the process?? They keep losing the more.... That's not termed as an ADDICTION cus many other times, this particular user doesn't even show up in a casino house.
P/s; a non-addict could still think breathlessly over gambling losses.. some of your facts are applicable on both ends.

Avoidance of Illegal Activities
You have never considered partaking in illegal actions like theft or fraud to finance your gambling activity.
-cut-
I don't agree with the avoidance of illegal activities point you made because I know some friends that are addicted but their addiction hasn't gotten to the point which they'll do some illegal things to get money to gamble. They have money so they gamble alot due to addiction.

Not everyone will allow their addiction problem to reach the stages of doing illegal things therefore you might be an addict and still not be commiting a crime to get money. Probably they'll borrow or take loans when they run out of where to get money to continue gambling.
-cut-
I think you misunderstood Op, as what he/she is trying to say is that one of the signs of addiction is that if you want to break a law to continue your habit. Not that everyone with an addiction would be criminals. Addiction can cause illegal behavior, however illegal behavior can exist without it and doesn't cause gambling addiction.

Quote
Lack of Loss Chasing
I believe this a very good sign for and against the topic. If someone who gambles a lot and he does this then it is clear he is addicted to gambling because as he is chasing his losses, he will keep making more losses on it until he loses all. But some who is not an addict will take his lose as one of those phenomenon where you play and don't win. He won't dwell on the agony of defeat or loses. Chasing of loses is really a way to determine how addicted someone is to gambling or not.
One could argue that this is more like desperate act caused by gambler's fallacy. It can be result of addiction but i can see it also as "all or nothing" -bet that in fact can stop your gambling streak for a long time by the fact you'll go broke and can't afford to gamble at all.

The phone addiction you mentioned is right, if you go out without your phone there is a kind of boredom that you will feel because we are so compactible and accustomed with our phone but we can't even help that or can we ?  Grin Maybe for online addicts, phone addiction could be termed as positive addiction. Yes if you miss to gamble for sometime probably because you are busy in another schedule and you don't regret not gambling it means you are walking away from addiction. In fact, for an addict no other schedule come first if not gambling and betting the day's game.
Gambling are more accessible now, and that's why many are getting addict easily because they are so obsessed with their phones as well.
Social media also affect your emotion, and that can lead to a hype for gambling. You can tell that you are not addict if you still have self-discipline.
Gambling is too risky, and we all know this but again since you can gamble at a low capital and anywhere, this makes many vulnerable to addiction.
yep, anything related to online gambling today (network access, privacy, withdrawals/deposits) is very easy to make gamblers more addicted but not 100% of the majority of gamblers lead to addiction, many are able to control themselves wisely so they don't become gambling addicts.

There are also those who tell their gambling activities to their family with the aim that they don't get addicted to gambling because their family warns them all the time. I don't know if this method is effective, but it can be tried for those who gamble often.
