If you are aware of what you are doing and still having a sense of control with the amount you are betting, then you are in good path. Awareness of when to stop and when to continue is an important thing and is an indicator that you are not letting your emotions play for you. Control with the amount you bet is a good thing because it'll help you avoid frustration and greed which most of us are vulnerable of. But that's a normal thing knowing that it is money we are talking about; it has the power to change us as well as our desires and actions ofcourse. Instill in your mind that you're more likely to lose than to win in order to be preventive of what's worse to come.

These signs suggest a healthy relationship with gambling and indicate that you are not addicted. What other signs do you know of?
I would've mentioned having a full sleep because some gamblers are willing to sacrifice their sleep for more gambling time, but that could also fall under one or two of the signs you've mentioned.

You already mentioned a couple of main indicators and to me, that seems more than enough because even the other signs on the list share the same meaning like the "loss chase" and "self-control".

Nothing lasts forever
  • Lack of Loss Chasing
When you lose, you do not attempt to bet more and more, with the mindset of winning back what you’ve lost. Rather you "leave" to bet another day.

From the whole list of points you have mentioned in OP this is the only one which I don't have my control on.
It's more like I don't chase losses many times but sometimes I do and when I do it's all in for the losses.
Either I win or I lose it all and to be honest I get a different thrill doing that but that doesn't really mean I am addicted to gambling.
I wait for some days until I am able to gamble again and I don't really feel sad about it too.

These signs suggest a healthy relationship with gambling and indicate that you are not addicted. What other signs do you know of?
You have already mentioned most of the signs that indicate a person is not addicted to gambling. Your explanation covers almost everything I have read but in my opinion if you are not strongly drawn to gambling and only engage in it as a hobby, it is unlikely to become an addiction for you. For example, if you can go weeks without gambling and have no difficulty controlling yourself or knowing when to stop, it further indicates that you are not likely to develop an addiction. Smiley

    • Demonstrates Self-Control
You can go days without gambling because you have the will power and might to. You do not feel powerless and unable to control your desire to gamble.

These signs suggest a healthy relationship with gambling and indicate that you are not addicted. What other signs do you know of?

I think this amongst all the points you noted is what differentiates addicts from non addicts. An addiction takes away your power of self control and dependency on the bad habit sets in.
An individual having enough self control over his actions and desires would probably never get addicted. When you’re gambling for fun, hoping for win as well as knowing at the back of your mind that you could incur losses as well, then your feelings when losing won’t be that hurt and you won’t go about trying to recoup those losses.
Very few things controls the will and actions of an individual like an addiction does.

In conclusion I would say those who have great self control of their emotion and money are not addicted.
Once a gambler can control their emotion and money management will have all the signs you wrote in the OP.
What would be the other signs, I think all other signs has been mentioned by other members before my post so I dont want to repeat it.

Thinking about the question itself, don't people usually understand when they are not addicted to something? I mean, people often ask the opposite question because they aren't sure if their obsession qualifies as addiction, but I'm not sure signs of not having addiction are generally needed.
Turning to specific points, I agree with all of them, apart from non-escape mechanism, and honest behavior, I think. People often do things to escape reality, and that doesn't mean they're addicted. For instance, many people read novels to dive into a different world, but that doesn't mean they're addicted to them. As for honest behavior, a person can choose to hide the fact about gambling for a lot of reasons, especially from friends or distant relatives. It can be done because a person doesn't want to gamble together with those people, because society is often prejudiced against gambling in general, because many automatically make the connection between gambling and addiction, because they don't want to share their wins, etc. And none of those reasons involve an addiction. Trying to hide gambling can be a part of addiction, but it doesn't have to be a part of it, so it's just a feature that's not helpful to define the lack of addiction.

    • Absence of Gambling Preoccupation
Do you don't find yourself constantly thinking over recent gambling losses. You do not get lost daydreaming of past wins. Your day is not spent thinking about gambling, or constantly laying plans on your next bet. You do not schemes ways to get more money to gamble with.
I remember when I lost a big sum of money gambling I couldn't stop thinking about that. I'm sure I wasn't an addicted gambler, but I felt really anxious for some days thinking on how to recover that loss through gambling once again. I was constantly thinking with myself on an efficient strategy that I could use to recover my money: few shots and big profit or many shots and steady profit coming in... I couldn't figure out what the best alternative was, while at same time I was aware that my plan had good chances to fail, leading me to further losses.

So, after some days of internal thoughts and conflict I started decreasing the anxiety towards this matter, keeping in mind it didn't worth the risk to put more money on the table to recover the previous lost amount. Within time I just forgot about the loss, spending my time with another tasks and daily activities.

I was also having a hard time dealing with my emotions when I experienced huge losses during the first phase of my gambling journey. It was really tough because I had lots of sleepless nights and it affected my mental health for days. I had regrets, doubts and lots of what ifs but that's also when I realized the importance of proper emotion management in gambling.
We shouldn't bet more than what we could afford to lose so we'll not feel too anxious about everything. We should also know our limits and be mindful of our expenses in gambling so we'll not feel regretful later on. It is fine to feel disappointed of our losses but we should learn how to accept the fact that losing will always be a part of our journey so we should know how to deal with it properly.

in my case when I play I put in a small amount of money that I know I can afford to lose and I won't miss it or it won't hurt me at all, and also even though I know it's an amount I can afford to lose lose I strive to make a profit, I make sports bets, I have created my own discipline and I make bets with the same value and if I win a lot then I increase the amount of the bet and if I lose all my bankroll then I wait until the day when I have one extra money to deposit and play, but I always deposit the same amount, always a small amount of money

I also need to add the fact that I usually take vacations from gambling and only make one bet per day at most and only if there is a game that is worth placing a bet on, another point that should not be confused: spending a lot hours thinking about some game strategy or seeing the mistakes that led to the defeat in a bet as a sign that the person is addicted to gambling, this is not true. a professional bettor or a person who wants to get good results needs to be constantly analyzing the data, this includes analyzing the game in which he lost in order to see where he went wrong or as part of a study to create a good strategy

These signs suggest a healthy relationship with gambling and indicate that you are not addicted. What other signs do you know of?
There is a difference between people who are addicted to gambling and people who are not addicted to gambling, even though they still carry out gambling activities, there are differences and assessments in terms of.

The difference between a gambling addiction and a non-addicted person.
    1. Time:
Time is very sensitive for addicts, they spend a lot of time and behave not qualified in everyday life, if we can manage healthy time and not open gambling sites all the time, even though they are gambling, that includes people who are not addicted.
    2. Lying:
Honesty when entrusting a trust in the form of money, never lying means that the person is not addicted to gambling, even though we often see gambling, it is usually very easy for people addicted to gambling to lie, especially money.
    3. Actions and words:
A person's actions and behavior are quite easy to judge as addicted or not, if the person acts normally, whether it's in the social field etc., usually people are addicted. These days he always talks about betting and gambling, but where people are not addicted they don't want to talk about gambling when he gathers in his daily life, even if he is a gambler.

That's not my summary of people who are not addicted to gambling.

You mean you kept betting yet were not addicted. It's a contradiction but maybe gamblers who are in denial can say they are not addicted when they are always logging in to their casino account. I think there is a need to consult a therapist or psychologist for someone to be checked whether they are addicted or not.

If you can live a single week without logging in to your casino account and bet, I guess that's one sign. Of course, you still need to be assessed by the specialist.

    I only judge myself.
Because I'm busy working from Monday to Friday and I only have time to rest and time for my family after a long day of work. So I don't really have the feeling or desire to gamble excessively, and here I can judge that I can control myself.
apart from that I can only play when there is free time and only on weekends, and even then if I feel like playing and with very minimal capital and if there is no desire to play I don't do it.
and that's all I experience and feel, so gambling is only to fill free time and have fun when there is a feeling of wanting to play and using a little capital. But sometimes this method is luckier than those who often play, and stop when luck is on our side.

Perhaps, you can add that there is no desire to gamble because you have read many stories about the defeats experienced by many people, so they don't want to gamble. Their curiosity is overpowered by an unwillingness to lose money, especially when they feel they have worked hard all day and feel no need to spend a fraction of their money on gambling. You are so afraid to see losing money at the gambling table that you decide not to gamble, as this can be something that can keep you from approaching gambling. And even though your friends invite you to play gambling, you can refuse because you know that gambling is not good for you.

You can go days without gambling because you have the will power and might to. You do not feel powerless and unable to control your desire to gamble.
Self-control is the biggest indication that you are not addicted to any habit and just gambling. Addiction is characterized by a loss of self-control and will power to take decisions about something even when you can see the negative effects it is having on you.
I think you can summarize all on the list if you have this behavior and I agree with that. If you have control over your actions whether it's not regarding about gambling then you'll surely haven't have any problems at all or you mitigate it before it arise. Of course, it's not an easy feat to be dealt with and you may face challenges even, but, through time with patience and practice it's not really impossible.

That is indeed a few points to know someone is addicted to gambling, but there is still a lot to know so it will be too complicated to identify it especially if we don't pay attention to ourselves.

It is quite simple for me to see an addicted person in gambling they will continue to play and always be restless when not playing a day or two will continue to chase losses and expect too much victory even though we know this is purely due to luck but an addicted person will think otherwise about their defeat then he will continue to pursue it.

We know when losing it doesn't matter, when winning he is not greedy and can utilize it well then he is still normal in gambling, meaning not in addiction.

Addiction is not something that happens once and if you show signs of not being addicted to gambling and you get too excited that you no longer pay attention to controlling yourself, you can still become addicted with you thinking that you still have control of yourself.

The cornerstone of all of these is control and proper management something you will never see in a player who is addicted to gambling, control, and management is controlling money and time you spent in casinos and this money is allocated not something that will harm your financial condition.
Part of control is not chasing your losses and not adding more when you lose your bankroll even though you think that you want to have more time in the casino, you know your limitation and you are dedicated to following what you set forth.

    • Stable Tolerance
You do not need to gamble larger amounts to feel the same level of thrill.  You are satisfied with regular bets and low stakes.  You do not pursue bigger wins, higher stakes, high gambling risks to feel "high" or happy.
    • Demonstrates Self-Control
You can go days without gambling because you have the will power and might to. You do not feel powerless and unable to control your desire to gamble.
I was quite happy when I found the signs, and it seems that those are the only signs that are in me. Yeah, I happy if gambling with small amounts, because the money I can afford to lose is only a little. For self-control, I've tried it and success. I can control my desire to gambling, because if I didn't have self-control. Then surely I would continue gambling and maybe every ten minutes because also now casinos are available online everywhere, and well it's not too difficult to play and find them. But actually, in my opinion if we can control ourselves, then we are not an addict, because self-control already covers most of the signs.
