Today, let's shift our focus and discuss something different instead of constantly addressing gambling addiction. So, I've decided to bring up a new topic: signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling. Let's explore it.

  • Unaffected Relationships and Opportunities
Your life, career, relationships are in order. They are not being negatively affected by your gambling habits. You met you work target and deadlines, your education is not neglected, and you haven't lost any financial opportunities as a result of gambling.

This is the best sign that you are not addicted to gambling and I rate this as the top sign, all those addicted to gambling that I've known, lose their priorities in life, they spend a lot of time and money on gambling and they do not care on the feelings of people around them, those addicted to gambling spend 5 to 10 hours always makes a lot of excuses when there are special occasions.
All they think of are how to win and how to increase their bankroll, people addicted to gambling lose their relationships they end up in divorce and they lose their business and jobs.
It's easy to see this in people addicted to gambling.

Yes because not only to gambling but also in other forms of addiction. Your relationship with your spouse, child, and your family will be the first one who'll be affected. You became isolate from them, you feel guilty losing money, you feel les of a human person. That's what makes you a gambling addict. So in everything that you do, always practice moderation. Because for whatever result that may come in, it is always your family that will suffer in the first place. So don't let gambling ruin you relationship.

Addiction is a dangerous harm that can happen to anyone. Within the good range of the mind, gambling can be controlled. There are various characteristics that demonstrate one to be a gambling addict. As an illustration, if you detect any desperation or persuasion to bet, it signifies you're on the edge of becoming or have already been classed as a gambling addict. Accepting that you're an addict doesn't seem easy; most of us try to deny it to the best of our abilities, but it's reality, and it will always come after us. I believe that new addicts should seek help and open out to someone who can aid them.
Opening up seems to be a problem for addicted gamblers because they are too worried to hear the response from those around them when they discover a gambling addiction. But they still have to do that if they want to cure themselves of gambling addiction and even though it's hard, they have to try it. Not all people who are around him do not want to accept the fact that there are people who are addicted to gambling around them so those who can accept it will try to help people who are addicted to gambling. Only we can recognize whether we have started to get addicted to gambling or are we still fine and have to see how far we gamble.
but for me those who can judge the signs of addiction or not addiction are not only ourselves but sometimes we need the people closest to us to judge our behavior whether there are these signs. because sometimes we always ignore the signs of addiction but consider themselves to have no signs of addiction. on the one hand, sometimes someone who feels he is okay when he sees threads like this he still says he is not an addict.
so that judgments like that sometimes we need the help of others to see our behavior.

However, I see the need to add a more criterion. The ability to establish and maintain reasonable gaming limits is indicative of lack of gambling addiction. As in, "Hey, I'm only gonna bet 50 bucks this week," and then, win or lose, you stop betting after that amount is gone. That's some significant self-control, and it shows that you're not letting gambling consume you.

Amazingly, some people seem to be able to straddle the fine line between enjoying themselves and becoming addicted without falling off. Not an easy feat, but highly commendable!
Yes, that's the importance of limiting the budget, it's very good to avoid addiction itself, because by not controlling it will obviously plunge us into addicts because we let casinos spend our money brutally, so the best way is to limit our budget and control ourselves, set the best time to gamble and don't follow lust. The more you can control yourself, the better.

It's true that sometimes gambling for fun can lead us into a tailspin of addiction but we stay in the middle line of playing wisely without having to gamble all the time. that is the importance of becoming a more controlled gambler so as not to become an addict. because when you become an addict it is rather difficult to recover from that disease.

That's too much, the simple way to indicate someone isn't a gambling addict is gamble only for fun and afford to lose.

I don't think that it is too much. It is helpful, in my opinion. Readers can assess themselves using these specified scenarios.
This is a good thread, but this is a general knowledge, we may vary depending to our own situations, so do not rely into it fully. If you or someone you know is struggling with gambling habits, seeking advice from professionals is recommended. They can provide personalized guidance and support.

This thread is great for learning about gambling addiction many good experienced people offer advice but whether or not it becomes addictive will usually depend on the individual's own will. It is not possible to avoid addiction if you cannot control yourself. An essential aspect of gambling that is always underrated is having fun. Some would even argue that the fun of gambling comes primarily from winning but since winning at gambling can be difficult, don't expect to join the gambling world and if you manage a win, consider it luck.

That means as long as we can stay on the right track, namely, not wanting to gamble excessively, we can take good care of ourselves. And even though we still gamble a few days later, we don't have to worry about gambling addiction. Only those who always think about gambling and want to come back daily may already have a gambling addiction. And if a person can still do things outside of gambling well and doesn't think about gambling, he is not yet categorized as a person with a severe gambling addiction because he can still control himself. But if what happens is that the person always thinks about gambling and always wants to come back, then they may have a severe gambling addiction.

This thread is like general knowledge counseling for those who gamble not to get addicted. A person's situation does vary, some never think about the benefits of gambling and some are always counting how many times they have won and how much they have won. Those who are addicted will be seen clearly from their attitude and how they gamble. In order not to get too caught up in gambling addiction, you need advice from other people by telling how to do gambling. Addicts really need other people so they don't get too caught up.

I think I had tried as much as possible to exhibit all those indicators mentioned by the OP having known the consequences of being addicted to gambling especially on my health, I tried as much to be self control and avoid excessiveness while gambling because I gamble for fun and based on my passion for soccer, thus I place my bet with small funds as well as with small odd just to avoid unnecessary risk associated with betting with huge amount of money in a bid to win big, I also hate chasing losses once I depleted the small fund allocation for gambling in my account, I quit and move on to search for a new opportunities, If a gambler overcome all those factors that can rekt or ruin their account such a gambler is bound to be successful in the long run.

I think the biggest sign that you aren’t addicted to gambling is if you can stop and feel no ill effects. For example, we’re all addicted to our phones. Leave the house without yours and you feel naked and incomplete. If going a week without gambling leaves you feeling similar, like you’re missing something you need, then maybe you might be addicted.

The phone addiction you mentioned is right, if you go out without your phone there is a kind of boredom that you will feel because we are so compactible and accustomed with our phone but we can't even help that or can we ?  Grin Maybe for online addicts, phone addiction could be termed as positive addiction. Yes if you miss to gamble for sometime probably because you are busy in another schedule and you don't regret not gambling it means you are walking away from addiction. In fact, for an addict no other schedule come first if not gambling and betting the day's game.
Gambling are more accessible now, and that's why many are getting addict easily because they are so obsessed with their phones as well.
Social media also affect your emotion, and that can lead to a hype for gambling. You can tell that you are not addict if you still have self-discipline.
Gambling is too risky, and we all know this but again since you can gamble at a low capital and anywhere, this makes many vulnerable to addiction.

Today, let's shift our focus and discuss something different instead of constantly addressing gambling addiction. So, I've decided to bring up a new topic: signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling. Let's explore it.
    • Avoidance of Illegal Activities
You have never considered partaking in illegal actions like theft or fraud to finance your gambling activity.
    • Demonstrates Self-Control
You can go days without gambling because you have the will power and might to. You do not feel powerless and unable to control your desire to gamble.

I don't agree with the avoidance of illegal activities point you made because I know some friends that are addicted but their addiction hasn't gotten to the point which they'll do some illegal things to get money to gamble. They have money so they gamble alot due to addiction.

Not everyone will allow their addiction problem to reach the stages of doing illegal things therefore you might be an addict and still not be commiting a crime to get money. Probably they'll borrow or take loans when they run out of where to get money to continue gambling.

Demonstration of self control is the highest form of disciples that any gambler can have as that shows you're in charge of your emotions and addictions can't get into your head. With self control you won't over gamble or spend more money than you budgeted for.

That can't be called addicted if you use it for work or other productive choirs but if you use it just for browsing any nonsense online and you didn't do any useful things on whole day long then this can be considered as addicted traits. But in gambling if you are fine and can last a day or two without participating any gambling activity then you are fine and doing right. Compare on those people who's been addicted already for sure first thing to come up on their mind is to gamble and they cannot pass any day or minute because they always want to gamble. This is bad since we know what addiction could bring to a person and this need immediate help to avoid getting into bad conditions.

Perhaps, you can add that there is no desire to gamble because you have read many stories about the defeats experienced by many people, so they don't want to gamble. Their curiosity is overpowered by an unwillingness to lose money, especially when they feel they have worked hard all day and feel no need to spend a fraction of their money on gambling. You are so afraid to see losing money at the gambling table that you decide not to gamble, as this can be something that can keep you from approaching gambling. And even though your friends invite you to play gambling, you can refuse because you know that gambling is not good for you.

    This is possible too.

Some people are afraid of taking risks, so it's best for them to keep their money rather than spend in gambling which is uncertain if they will win and bring home some profit. Because of the many failed stories about gambling experience they are more scared to try it with the thinking that the same damnation will happen to them as well. And we can't really blame these people for thinking about that since they are just thinking about their hard-earned money and their future as well. It's not bad to be afraid to try something especially if you know that you won't be able to handle it well when things go rough. Personally, I find it better to not try at all if you are unsure of something rather than regret later because you risked your chance despite knowing the possible negative outcomes.

There is no man alive that can keep all your rules OP, it's almost impossible because it's way too much, why not just set a timetable for yourself and set an amount for your gambling days, either you win or you lose you take your leave that day and wait for another gambling day to come, this is the best strategy.

The best rule for a gambling newbie is never come any close to gambling if you have no job, many people may not agree but gambling is not meant for the jobless, there is no way you can control yourself if all you have is a certain money that you saved from your pocket money and you plan to gamble with it, when this is your amount on earth, you won't want to lose the money to be honest.

And it's easier to lose all that money in gambling, can you see what I am talking about? Even if you want to invest your money into any stock or crypto you need a source of income first, there must be something to always run back to if the unexpected happens, but if you have no job and you choose to gamble first, you will go mad.

It is still addiction if you can't leave your phone at home, no matter if it is positive or negative, but again, it is best if it is positive as it brings us something about it like a good effect, unlike negative addictions like gambling, where you can't do other things now as you want to gamble as well as lose tons of money. But again, if you can survive not playing gambling for a month even if you are bored, then for sure you are not addicted because mostly when boredom strikes, we gamble like we use our phone if we are bored and keep scrolling on it.

Well I understand the point @xSkylarx, about the phone but in trying to compare the gambling addiction to mere going out with phone or pressing it will not be looked as the same. That of gambling is about playing with your money that means your finance is going off from you but for phone, I don't think you are losing any finance. Moreso for phone, people can be addicted to it because they are perhaps working online with it and that could be the major reason to be addicted with phone which also includes using it to bet online  Grin

Yes, it's true that every time we try to quit addiction there is always an effect and it will be a positive effect if we really manage to stop gambling and get rid of addiction even though it's hard at first, but if it's easy to do, it means we're not heavy addicts, on the other hand, heavy addicts seem rather difficult to change their habits. so it seems like something is missing, therefore the need to change the mindset.

The signs of addiction are varied, and we may not even realize that we are addicts, even if we only play a few times on the gambling platform, but as long as we play wisely and don't destroy ourselves, everything will be fine, for example, gambling is for fun by playing wiser. manage your time and limit your gambling budget it will look better.

Phone is the most important thing in this era, it's make sense how most of people can't leave their phone at home because everything is in your phone e.g. money, social media, messaging app etc.

Well I'm not really sure the long frequency of gambling can be said as an addict because if you're have a long frequency gambling but you're only gamble with very little money, it's mean you're still able to control your financial and it will not harm your life. Although you're always gambling every your free time.
