In my view and experience, there is a lot of luck involved, more than one would like in fact, in getting into winning positions on trades. Skill is important in knowing when to exit positions and take risk off the table.

Trading provide no house edge it means you're often depend on luck.
For some cases, you can made good profit if you have deep analysis that only who has their own skill that able to do that. Yes it's difficult but it's not impossible to do it as long as you have done it everyday !

Of course i think it is obvious that were surely need both skills and luck but for me more than anything else skills should always be higher because luck would just come and go

Well i voted for skills only ,because i don't believe on luck ,luck is based on what we do or on our own move .skills and some research on trading works well for me as i've experience .
i believe of luck. luck is an important element of our life. i have seen so many skillful and educated people working for illiterate people. that is only because of luck,

You can rely on both.
But I think it'd be more effective if you study how to predict. In short, skill is more important.
Trading needs a lot of research and analysis. It is not a game of chances entirely.
Because if it is, then it would not be different from gambling.
well that's true both are needed if you have skills you can easily predict which ways your investment will go but if luck permits or ride with your side you will earned more aside from what you just predicted or expected.

I think that luck is more important than skill because price swings could happen while you or you are not holding bitcoin. There is some skills involved in trading, but I haven't figured out what those are yet(patience is not a skill).

Of course it's both.

 - Skill, because there are moments where you should never buy coins. It's a bit like pattern recognization.

 - Luck, because you can never 100% correctly predict the future.

When trading What Matters More Skills or Luck?

Trading firstly is based on the general or specific knowledge on that particular coin you are trading with.

And based on that you earn or profit, but here comes the luck that you don't know in backstage what is happening with the price.

Sometimes the developers or the traders group pump or dump the price which is unknown for us and the profit of the loss happens.

" always prey for your luck and not for mind as i have seen so many intelligent people working for lucky people",

that ignores the fact that most of the people others are working for are in that position because of connections and/or who their father is, not because of skill.

When trading What Matters More Skills or Luck?

In my own opinion, both skills and luck are needed to have a succesful trading career because these  two things are partners in everyday life  not only on trading. Its really an advantage when do you have skills because you cant  really depend too much on luck because you think  you are already capable on such thing but  there are  still circumstances that requires luck because  no matter how you do your best but luck is lacking maybe the result was different  on the thing that you were expecting for.

I reckon that what matters most is luck because even if you have an extraordinary skills in trading it is always possible that something could go wrong along with your prediction, that's my reasoning why luck need to be the one asset of a trader. perhaps skill could get you rich, but luck can even get you richer.

we can full believe on luck, witout luck nothing is possible. although hard world is also important for success but still luck id too much important thank hard worli will translate a verse from my local language into English. " always prey for your luck and not for mind as i have seen so many intelligent people working for lucky people",

You have point but don't give credits alone on luck. Because lucky person always have skills that is way there are lucky. They are not lucky for nothing. I yhink they are holding special skills.

@OP i don't know why the OP gave a choice of both. I think it must be remove so that people can choose only on two factors so that this poll make a conclusion on what is better factor within that 2 choices

When trading What Matters More Skills or Luck?
I Think That Skills And Luck Both Have Roll in Trading But Trading Skills Have More Roll Hers As Compare To Luck Because a Experienced Trader Always Know What Altcoin Price Will Increase in Future Or Not....
But A New Trader Winings Are Based On Pure Luck Because They Have Not Much Experience...

i say both are key when trading but their percentage of effectiveness is a lot different and it depends on the situation and also the experience of the trader.

for an experienced trader the luck factor is small (<10%) and the less experience the trader has the more dependent on luck he is to a point that some newbies are trading 100% based on luck!
