so 1 skycoin= 1000 $?

i think this will happen soon!

Everything is possible in cryptomarket, now only 7 millions Sky in circulation, not many,so we can see 200-300$ price for a short time, but keep in mind 100 millions max supply that will cut the price a lot.

try

Code:
CGO_ENABLED=0 go get github.com/skycoin/skycoin/...

Thanks a lot.
I was able to install and run the wallet.
The UI is very nice and simple I like it.

I have question about security.
The wallet does not require any password to open also I see
the .wlt file is a json file containing the seed and other data in plain text.

After wallet backup can I remove this file from the computer or delete the seed from it
or this file should be always present in
/home/$USER/.skycoin/
directory?

Never delete the seed. This is the most important concept - the private key is derived from the initial seed function.

Treat the seed as a private key.

Ok I understand that concept but my question was if I could make a backup of the seed and private key and remove it from the computer.
The seed is currently there in plain text so I was wondering if  there will be some kind of encryption available prevent  stealing like in bitcoin or litecoin wallets?

is there an any roadmap for the marketing side? The technical side is incredible, but even the brightest gem can remain undiscovered forever. It's not like the early days of BTC where there is no competition. Now there are some 1000 shitcoins all marketing heavily.

Hi, is the android app for sky walley real? Why does it says in playstore that it is an unreleased version? The app is in development and maybe unstable.

perhaps it's a stupid question but if the mining hardware is not out yet, who mines this coin to insure transactions are processed?

There are no miners  Smiley. This is the really cool thing about Skycoin. it's a completely new consensus protocol that uses a opinion-based dynamics (none of that proof of work/proof of stake bullshit). This makes it lightweight, super fast, extremely scalable and highly energy-efficient.

The "miners" are just being released to secure Skycoin's decentralised internet, Skywire, which is built on top of Skycoin's infrastructure. The miners forward packets of data to each other in a meshnet and recieve coin hours as payments from people who would like to use their bandwidth.

currently it is a centralized coin and 90% are held with the github devs...

Clarity is needed on these issues...

In immutable code

The tokens are time-locked and are unlocked at a rate of <5% per year.

If anyone wants to help in the community and remember this is a decentralized project please email and tweet exchanges that you would like to see Skycoin listed on. The community is growing rapidly but as it's thoroughly decentralized we need community participation to move it onto particular platforms. So if you can spare the time it would be greatly appreciated by everyone in the community.

Thanks  Cool

As a side note cryptopia has handled the Skycoin project with care so it is a very respectful exchange, they recognized the tech in the early stages and should be rewarded for that - however if you would like to advance onto more platforms - further community participation is needed because everyone needs their voices to be heard.

Hi everyone! Is there somekind of lightweight online paper wallet for SkyCoin?

Something like https://coinb.in/ for BTC.

So we can generate and broadcast transactions "manually".
