In Spain people with foreign money can have a good standard of live. The level of english is one of the worst of Europe, nobody of your age will know any word of englsih and young people will be able to speak some. You will not be able to pay anything directly with bitcóines, only there is la calle bitcoin in Madrid but there are some cajeros bitcoin (arround 7000) https://www.groupbtc.com/es/cajeros. Considerate Catalonia

I can learn spanish ?  But its Europe, they will need money. Mine ?

I wanted to say that people with foreign money usually can have a good standard of live.
You can learn spanish, catalan or even basque, why not?

Guys, i made a small fortune in altcoin/bitcoin. In which country should i settle ?
I have no wife, no kids, just a girlfriend, i´m free to go wherever i want (she´ll go with me).
But it has to be a bitcoin-friendly country.
I have no intention to buy lambos, just a peaceful life.
Thanks.

Oh, and my age is 53, that makes a difference too.
Choose Philippines as it's bitcoin friendly country and cost of living here isn't expensive thus it's good to live here if you're pensioned.

Philippines.

Get a beach house, or live in the city, or get a few acres of land ... Put a wall around it. Hire security or bodyguards.
When you have kids, hire a nanny for each. Send them to private schools.
Cash out in 2 or 3 major exchanges, or make it a daily routine to sell to locals.

But, don't do drugs.

A relatively large 3 to 5 bedroom, 2 or 3 car garage home, with a swimming pool, in a gated community will set you back about 10 to 20 million pesos, or 200k USD to 400k USD.

*edit* at 53, expect to live to maybe 83 ? so that's 30 years. You better have at least 1000 BTC (at today's prices) if you want to be comfortable without too much additional work. Get a token job for income tax purposes, but usually the government will leave you alone if you blend in.

That's 3 BTC per month for 30 years, more or less. Don't exceed that budget. You wouldn't unless you do something stupid. Just be smart about it. As a foreigner, you might spend more on local food (coconuts?) but just tip the waiters an extra 10~15% and you will get excellent service most of the time.

All gas stations are full-service, by the way. You can't gas the car yourself, they won't let you. Hire a chauffeur / driver for $300 USD per month. Double that amount if he acts as armed bodyguard.

I was surprised when you read your post, it seems you have not read the news recently. The philippines are being persecuted by extremists, and it is currently considered a very dangerous country. To my surprise, an employee of this forum gave me the wrong advice. Criticism, but you need to regularly check the news.

In Spain people with foreign money usually have no problem for integrating to society. The level of english is one of the worst of Europe, nobody of your age will know any word of englsih and young people will be able to speak some. Scandinavia and in particular Norway. Gorgeous nature, English fluency is pretty common nationwide, not too many people around and not a lot of foreigners either.

Or Canada. Again gorgeous nature and nice people in general I think. Avoid the big cities and settle down in some rural picturesque place.

Good luck!

P.S. I don't know why you would want to go in Asia. Yes the adventure ahead might sound exciting but consider all the negatives like diseases, overcrowded mega cities, questionable local law and criminal rate (possibility to get kidnapped), health care etc.

I think if you are having a "small fortune" with these digital currencies, I think it is better to live in China, or maybe Japan, but I prefer Japan, great people there, bitcoin friendly and you can live peaceful life like how you've wanted it. And I think, for me, that is a great choice, not having luxurious things which is a dream to most of the people even they are at your age. Good luck finding a country, just hope that you will be having a  great place to live with your girlfriend.

I can not give you advice, but I admire you, a free man and a great girlfriend. However, I think you should choose a safe place instead of a convenient place for you to use bitcoin.

A liberal guy, I'm interested in your life, if you want to find a settlement, before thinking about the convenience of using bitcoin, think about your safety, because The United States, although you can freely use the virtual currency, but will have to face many risks, you can be a bad luck persecuted Smiley good luck.

These days almost all countries are relatively bitcoin friendly. For retiring you wan't a middle income/developing country if you are hoping to watch costs, anywhere in latin america or SE asia is good. You could enjoy a peaceful life with no hassle.

South East Asia is the best place to settle. Lots of islands and BTC friendly countries. I once traveled through most of the countries in Asia and I would recommend all of them. The country which I personally loved is Bhutan, literally the best nature and environment in the world, food is amazing and a romantic weather. What else do you need to settle?

Bhutan sounds interesting, i´ll have a look into that !
As for my girlfriend, she´s 32 years on my side, and no signs of giving up . . . I´m a firmly believer of non marriage. That way i know, why she´s still here  Smiley

I am not from Japan but seeing the development in that country better to go in that country and settle it so that if you are going to do business in cryptocurrency you will be free from tax and it is legal their so you dont have to worry about it. 25% of you stock convert it to fiat currency and buy a house and some usefull things in life and then balance keep in bank and what ever you are going to earn in interest enjoy with it balance 75% crypto currency you can do daily small trading and enjoy in that . Give your girl what ever she wants and keep her happy

I am recommending Philippines, You can settle in the philippines, cost of living there is cheap and there are many tourist spot. I am betting your girlfriend will love living in the Philippines. It is also a bitcoin friendly though not everyone knows Bitcoin but many people there are using Bitcoin. And if you really are going to the Philippines then i recommend changing your Bitcoin wallet to coins.ph. The price of Bitcoin in the Philippines if you will convert to philippine pesos is 140k+ and that is already a lot to spend for many months.

go for Chile! safe, cheap yet educated, nice, spanish is easy Smiley
Yeah , but still here I would like to suggest to sell first and then go in the country where he want to go .
Here I don't understand why the OP want to sell in the other foreign countries , perhaps he has the facility to sold his Bitcoin at online .
I mean he can sell at localbitcoins.com and also in the coinbase , and if he is from.the india then also can sell at zebpay which is easy to sell and handle his money .
And also he can directly change into the doller at the exchange sites and then  can use in any ways with his PayPal account .
With this here I will suggest to the OP that don't sell his all the altcoin and Bitcoin earnings , he should hold for the year , because the price will surely jump for every altcoin  and also specially for Bitcoin .

Some in Asian countries have good support for bitcoin. Asia is currently developing by maximizing bitcoin to be used officially.
Asia became a pioneer for other countries around the world to start applying bitcoin.

I wouldn't want to be some rich white guy waving wealth around in some of these south east asian countries, you hear lots of stories about some white guy 'falling' out of balconies in hotels. And thats just the police..

I will suggest you to go in the Japan  , because in the Japan it is fully legalised and we don't need to worry much about it , because most of the shops in the Japan will accept Bitcoin and easy to deal with Bitcoin .
But here I would like to suggest you to sell online because selling in the online is not a big thing , you just need to sell it at the LBC exchange , at LBC you can found any type of the deals that you want make .

Here I am really surprised that your age is 53 year and still.you have a gf , well here I will suggest you to make deals with only those persons who have trust 100% at he localsBitcoins.com .
