Obviously, I need BTC to get in but it seems like everything is high right now.  Should I wait till BTC is < 2k? Or ETH < 200? I'd like to get in and start trading alt coins.  But for me to maximize my profits in USD I need to wait till BTC is at a reasonable cost.  Or do you guys see it climbing to 3k in the next couple of months?
Yes, I am sure bitcoin is goining only to climb higher next months, someone even supposed the top point as 3500$ before bitcoin will start to drop back. I think you may wait for yours < 2000$ very long. You can start to trade with that amount of coins that you have now, yes, the profit is going to be not so big, but at least something. Good luck!

I think you need to study how the market work as you cannot really make it in trading without adequate knowledge on fundamental and technical issues on the asset you are trading. Expecting bitcoin to fell to this in just a  short time may not happen as you could have taken that opportunity last week.

I believe the best thing to do is to start buying now, a little at time.. if the price will go up, you will be happy that you bought now - if it will go down, you will keep buying more and so on (just don't invest all the cash you have, but a small portion every time you feel like it)
This must be a working strategy as it will ensure the do not miss any opportunity like missing out current prices as well covering any future dumps also. As no trader is capable of predicting exact low prices for buying, following this strategy will ensure them buying at possible better average prices.

We can follow the same thing when we are going for selling. But with respect to potential of bitcoins, we do not need to sell bitcoins for at least next 10 years.

If look at the current progress, maybe it could reach $ 3k but I think maybe a few months ahead. And if this happens it will be good news for bitcoin users and will boost confidence to reach $ 4k next year. And it would be nice if continue to hold bitcoin because it could be a good investment and safe in my opinion.

The growth of the bitcoin on price chart is directly proportional to the growth of the users and demand in the market. Now considering the market conditions and the perception about bitcoin in outsider world, I have no doubt that we will have at least 100% growth in next couple of years in the user base. There are many people (users/investors) are waiting outside, looking for a perfect opportunity to join us. I believe we are going to see $5K on the price chart within a couple of years.

A lot of speculations have been running around stating bitcoin to reach 3k anytime soon. If you are unsure though then I suggest for you to wait until when btc's price would dump after the correction. Remember, don't spend something you can't afford to loose. And in this case if its trading, losses are already expected before you can even bet on a certain coin.

Everything you said might be possible and might happen and no one would able to tell you the exact right position for you to make trades. We wont know if the current price is the new floor on its price or its just reaching out its new peak.Knowing that bitcoin price tends to go up and down without our notice. If i were you since we can able to purchase bitcoin in smaller quantities or parts then its still okay to go in on this price point if you are basing on news on upcoming months then you will assume price would go more higher.

In my opinion, yes, I can see bitcoin to reach $3K milestone in next 3 months but should I advise you to hold your bitcoins instead of trading? No!. I would say go with it but start will the less quantity and high frequency so that you would be able to get an idea and understand the behaviour of the markets. Initially, learning to defend your capital for some time and the look for the profits is a good way to start imo.

How long will you wait for that "reasonable cost" and what do you think is a fair price to that. Ok what if the price goes $1,500 during the bearish market, will you buy? I doubt you will because you will expect that the price will decrease more. The same question asked during the recent correction price and now look at the current price.

No one really knows what will be the trend that's why you need to risk.

If you don't want to buy btc at the current price,i have an alternative
You should look into stellar forum,an altcoin forum, they have coin named Lumen (XLM)
If you register at the forum and be an active poster you can get free XLM every week
And with that, you can start trading without risking your USD

Both of it (bitcoin and eth) will continue to rise if you miss this chance, why now? Because bitcoin has good development/acceptance in many countries such as in Japan, China and South Korean right now which has highest exchange rate, and maybe we will pass $3000 in this month.
If you want to wait for cheaper price, better to learn every year charts and how many projects/company use bitcoin or ethereum for their medium of exchange due many projects use ethereum blockchain for their developing.

you can always build on smaller alt coins first that have a good backing then convert them over to BTC.. bouncing around to get to BTC can be difficult but can pay off in the end

Honestly I do not see any reason why BTC could go back close to 2k$. Every swing back down is used by the market to buy the dips.

Its very hard for now for bitcoins to return to $2000.It has been already predicted that  bitcoin would continue in bullish trend through out this year.So better buy it now itself even though the price is high.Bitcoin price has yet to go more heights.

I would recommend waiting a few months. I would also recommend spending a long time learning about trading fundamentals. Learn how to determine an asset's value through fundamental and technical methods. Learn value investing. Practice paper trading. You can do that here: www.demoinvestor.com

Be careful, and don't stay exclusive to crypto. Diversify and manage your risk. You are not going to become a millionaire overnight, but you could over the course of a few years with a LOT of diligence, patience, and eagerness to learn.

Good luck to you!

Do altcoin trading at this time I think a little profit because lately the value of market price turnaround is difficult to predict, When we buy altcoin at a low price and want to sell it again takes a long time because the value of only a few percent increase it will only spend our time just to always see the market price.
although the price of bitcoin is always difficult to predict but still if a person has good study about the crypto market the he can really show good result I trading bitcoin. through this was speculation about the price of bitcoin will also become easy for you. to me my  person view s that the price of bitcoin is still expected to increase more and more.

There are many analysts who agree with your opinion. But they talk about the long term. Bitcoin will grow and the price will become noticeably larger in 2-5 years. Maybe this is not the best option for trading. It is necessary to wait very much to make a profit

It's already 2.5k and the price can rise even above $3k but I wouldn't advise you to invest now when the market is highly unstable. Except selling it for USD on exchanges like Kraken, there aren't many trustworthy sites and plus the price is not stable at $2000. Better to set a profit margin and trade and have a reasonable margin (not above 5%) since you are a beginner.

ETH is the best option as of now. I bought it when ETH was 0.03 BTC and now it's about 0.1 which means my profit is about 70%. The investment is also less compared to BTC and it's as reliable and profitable. Choose polo or bittrex to trade.

Altcoin trading is a good trading field to the people who want to start trading and also make money with it and it is also easy to do because it doesn't require you a lot of complicated analysis just to make good trading because a good fundamental analysis will be enough for you to make money and you don't need to do a lot of things.
