I usually do some research, but the most important is the team and the vision of their project. make sure they have a team and a clear vision, so the chances of the scam will be small
Some scam projects can have a good team and to assert that they have a clear vision. I think now the success of ICO is estimated by the level of hype around its project. In the meantime one of the indicators of level of hype is the number of users in their Telegram channel

Make your own research , but you can never be sure for 100% this is not scam . There is always a risk to loose , as well as possibility to gain .

Yup, that's why you do a super thorough reserach and invest only when 100% confident.
100% confident and 30% for risk Wink. You can't have 100% chance to get profit from ICO, sometime, I can put 70% for risk because some ICO projects have many problems not clearly and FUD. But, almost these projects helped me earned huge profits, AirToken and VIBE are these project, I have bought these tokens at low price.

Most of the ICO's are shit.

The best way to know that an ICO is legit, is seeing that the team already has a working product (for example, BitDice has a running casino for 3 years, and now they come with an ICO).
And, what Whipsplash says: the more info you can find beside their webpage, the less likely it is that is is a scam.

Exactly, Most ICO's are scams unless they already have a working product and have a proof for it. Also checking their social platforms and see how they deal with critics. for me I just know BitDice, LiveEDu as two already establish companies running an ICO. I dont know if there are more out there.
ICO is looks like IPO, the company want to have money for their project. So, they create an ICO to call for capital and investment. Investor you get profit if their project can be success, of course, it is high risk with which project has not anything Smiley.

So many new ICO, and they all have new idea and tech listed on their webpages,

and even the websites use the same template...

but so many new ICO, how to check if it's scam, or worth to invest...

First thing, good ICOs know that Marketing is the most important because of huge competition, so the first thing you can check in a good ICO is the marketing. If it has a good and smart marketing then continue read its whitepaper. If the whitepaper is good , go check the team.
p.s. The most important thing with the team is to be people with good background, it doesn't matter to be all geeks or developers. Steve Jobs wasn't a developer but made Apple.
Check DIW, for me is the best ICO, I bet all my money on it

The only thing you can really do is to research a lot.

Look into the white paper, the team, the concept etc. You have the ability to ask as many questions as you want on their announcement thread so use it. I would then get involved in their bounty campaign rather than jump straight into investing.

In fact, this is a very urgent issue. Everyone has his own vision and recommendations for choosing ICO. I want to believe that in 2018 there will be less scammers.

Research about the campaign or ICO that you seem to be interesting. The group behind that campaign should offer everything to share the information they have for their campaign. You can decide whether the ICO is okay or not by the information they are offering to everyone.

Unfortunatly you can't chek it for 100%. Do your own researches about ICO's, chek out some telegramm groups and twitter. Also you can chek ICORATING it can be very useful.

connect to the team is the recommended way to check the ICO. The only difference between real and scam ICO is the activeness and the update relationship between the developers and the participants. You can gradually chat them to know what you are really joining.

I think best way to understand ICO scam or not, searching their team and advisor because  ICO which has useless team and advisor cant be succes even if their white paper is perfect. good luck to find good ICO

Really really research the teams.

Make sure the teams are real people who have held senior roles in companies you have heard of.

Then go to LinkedIn and look the people up. Do they have the ICO affiliation written there?? If not, why not?
If they have had senior roles, they should have >500 connections and have multiple articles written on them when see under a quick Google search

Huge red flag otherwise.

We received many questions regarding our ICO (https://tokensale.valhallacoin.com which starts on Tuesday), as our team consists of US Navy SEALS, ex-FBI, ex-DOJ and cery senior security people. Only seeing the linkedin profiles and talking to the team members kept the whales happy.

My selection of Iso consists of several creatures, the first is the authority of the company, the second is their intention and why they collect the money, the third is their pool and the last distribution in the media

There are lot of promising ICO, but some of them are scams. To check if it is a scam or not: do some research, read the whitepaper and identify if there is a great team behind the project.
