it shows that bitcoin is not known to the world, because normal people who know the bitcoin price then he will choose 1 bitcoin. and it's our job to introduce bitcoin to the world, and in my country there are already some bitcoin communities whose job it is to socialize bitcoin to the community.
someday I will try to do the same thing as you in my country. but I can already answer it seems the answer will be the same as your experience. Grin Cheesy

They will rather choose fiat money than bitcoin because most of the people here in our country still dont know and doesnt believe in bitcoin. They dont know that there is greater currency in internet.

If i use that as a test then I just might get the same answers as you did.
Maybe 1/100 of all that people will pick bitcoin or one more with just hatred with their own currency that picks bitcoin too.
It is a good experiment though.
I almost thought there are a lot of people who knows it and yet that experiment tells it is still rare.

I just watched a video on my social media about guys running a social experiment about Bitcoin in their country (USA), and they questioned strangers that they chose, this "Would you rather have 1 Bitcoin or 1 dollar?" and almost all of the people they questioned chose 1 dollar. Only 1 person in all the person they interviewed chose 1 bitcoin. This just proves that there still a lot of us who don't have a clue about digital currency. If I would do this in my country, I'm sure that no one will choose bitcoin over our local currency. What about in your country if you run this social experiment?

One nice try! It simple says that bitcoin is not that popular in the world. The are not yet knowledgeable in a digital currency. I hope that by that kind of experience we simply advertise and inform them what bitcoin really is and how bitcoin can help our nation.

good experiment . Literally explained so many things .
I am sure  many of them among the guys knew the current value of bitcoin but still chose to get dollar . That clearly explains the biggest problem with the world that they are totally dependent on physical money . Even if they know where bitcoin stands right now , they still chose 1 dollar .
There are still so many bars bitcoin needs to cross in order to get its deserving value and importance .

It really didn't explained many things but it only showed how many people are not aware of Bitcoin or any cryptocurrency in that matter. But when you look at it money making wise people should know by now or at least took it into consideration that there are new money making ways outside of Stocks or Real Estate. I think the biggest problem here I see is not knowing Bitcoin but not becoming a financial literate person as it is more important if you ever want to become financially free.

Same here, a lot of people in our country doesn't know about it and can't even recognize it. Maybe thru social media others my inform what bitcoin is.

The answer is no one choose Bitcoin certainly. Because people always scared of which is illegal. They afraid lose your money, they have to take care family, their children,...
Bitcoin is not illegal (despite of the media and for the news where bitcoin usually appears only when they talk about ransomwares and similar things) yet it's not really regulated, so I won't say it's totally legal, because if something is legal than it's in line with the laws and regulations... So it's something new that has not been regulated yet, but not illegal...

I wonder from which year this experiment is, situation changed a lot in last couple years. In anyway this is a good thing, can you imagine what will happen with bitcoin demand when all the people know about bitcoins?
My friends from facebook knows about bitcoin, I shared so many news about bitcoin, after each rise I post the new ATH price, and to most of them I explained what bitcoin is.
I would like to know from which year this experiment is, and someone to make similar experiment now after some time passed. Bitcoin is more present in news, magazines, television, this year price grow made bitcoin very popular, and news about that are everywhere.

That's actually good because it means we are still the early adopters. Yet the price is already so high!
Just imagine how much the price will rise when Bitcoin will go really mainstream and will be adopted by large amount of people...  Grin

If in my country to conduct such an experiment, in 10 cases out of 10 will answer: "Bitcoin? What is it." But if you take the proportion of 100 to 1, then probably the hundredth person will say: "Yes, I will choose bitcoin." This is due to the very poor knowledge of people about the modern economic market. And our task with you is to do everything to popularize bitcoin, as nobody does it ... I try to inform as much as possible about my bitcoin and its advantages, I want everyone to know about it! Then our world will change, and I hope for the better Smiley

Frankly speaking i am not surprised with lot of people choosing dollar over bitcoin,It will be difficult to make people aware about bitcoin without any solid structure present in front of them. Its a long journey to travel guys and we are getting closer day by day.

Wel.. it's nothing new that Bitcoin isn't popular among ordinary people. Bitcoin is still a new technology which needs a few upgrades before it will be able to process far more transaction than it is capable today. As far as I know, there was already such social experiment in my country and it turned out that money people heard about Bitcoin and they knew that Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency but they couldn't explain how it works.

This is a very interesting idea with this experiment. It would be nice to carry that in real life, I am curious about the results of such an experiment. I suspect I would be surprised if I saw them.

This just proves that Bitcoin has much more room to grow.
Imagine if everyone knew what Bitcoin is and what makes it so great. The price would skyrocket.
It's happening, but slowly. A couple of years ago that social experiment most likely wouldn't have anyone saying they'd prefer 1 Bitcoin.

In my country people vaguely know that Bitcoin is a very valuable digital currency so that social experiment would be very different.

True, I believe bitcoin's growth is just starting and its price is just half or maybe less than what its potential can achieve.

It's not relevant because he/she asked people who are not aware of Bitcoin. You can ask for anyone what he prefers between 1 dollar or XYZ, as he/she doesn't know XYZ he/she will choose a dollar, naturally...
If you tell to people what is Bitcoin and its value, nobody will prefer $1 instead of $7000.

But it's relevant to find out how aware are people on the streets about Bitcoins... If people were educated about this important subject they would know 1 Bitcoin = $7000. It's a golden chance most people are losing because their minds are only connected to worthless ephemeral things.

Still there are many countries where biotcoin or digital currencies are not familair, but hope so in few years bitcoin will be familiar to every country and will be accepted as a direct payment method.

I just did it a few days ago with my friend. I asked him, do you know bitcoin? he replied didn't know anything about it. Then I tell him that bitcoin prices now exceed the local currency. When I told him about the price via Internet, he was stunned. And start to learn and invest in bitcoin.  Grin
