Well Solana is having big gains in just the last 7 days. It is up more then 25%. I wonder if those big gains is because SBF was telling security guards to buy Solana.

On the low liquidity exchange Poloniex, the Solana withdrawals are paused and the price dropped over 35% from the market price and currently it is 5% below normal price. Obviously once they resume withdrawals, the prices will sync back to market price. Do you guys see this as a good opportunity to make a free 5% profit? Or do you guys think that they will take ages to resume the withdrawals and the price will keep falling in the coming days?

I am going to take advantage since this is not the first time this has happened and withdrawals usually resume in days.

If you believe in Solana, then I'd say "go for it". But constant network outages makes me think twice before putting my own money in it. Some say the upcoming "Firedancer" node software release by Jump Crypto will solve Solana's reliability problems once and for all. I'm yet to see whenever that'll be the case in the coming months.

If Solana proves to be a reliable ETH alternative, there won't be nothing stopping it from reaching a new ATH. I'd proceed with caution just to be safe. We can't predict the future, so lets hope for the best. Grin
Many investors made huge profits when they bought solana at the previous bottom. The workings of the blockchain have not changed since then. I think that in the near future nothing will change and the blockchain will not work stably. But now it is probably too late to buy coins.

Well, it is not really as much as a belief in Solana as a reliable ETH alternative as it is rather a belief that it is safe to buy and hold (for a week or two) smaller amounts of Solana on low liquidity exchanges like Poloniex during events in which the price can be expected to diverge due to a problem with the exchange itself. This happens everytime, with any altcoin when a low liquidity exchange decides to "pause withdrawals" to fix the wallet. People panic and start selling their SOL because they think something bad is going to happen. A sudden 60% drop in price is a good chance.

The only danger here is that the exchange might not resume the withdrawals or something happens to the altcoin itself, while you are holding it.

It's normal when the withdrawal is blocked and the price has dropped. In a few days, if withdrawals are resumed again, the price will become the market price. But if you have the opportunity to buy, it's probably a good idea to take advantage of it. But sometimes sell-offs on poloniex are an indicator of market movement, so you need to be careful.

Solana can maintain momentum for several years.
This means that even though Solana is a blockchain, it is able to provide the best for investors.
But that way of course we need to be vigilant because crypto performance is unpredictable.
I think that almost all types of crypto cannot be ascertained, sometimes in crypto we have to be careful to understand fundamental analysis because most of them analyze with technical analysis always misses, especially when well-known companies are involved in it

Yes, that's how crypto is, it has become a yellow light for me to play with it, many events beyond reason affect all these movements, especially many coins that are tempting but cannot be confirmed.

I don't agree with you about the comparison between Solana and ETH. Solana will be more popular with many people in the future than ethereum, even though the prices of the two are very different, but when many people complain about the expensive fees paid for ethereum, it doesn't hurt to hold or invest in solana. everything is fast and cheap, let's see the light that shines from Solana in 2024

"Fast and cheap" at the cost of centralization and unreliability. Totally not worth it, in my opinion. If you're only planning to use SOL for quick trades or micropayments, this shouldn't be much of a problem. But if you want to preserve your capital for the long term, I'd suggest you look elsewhere. You can hold both SOL and ETH if you want. The decision is yours.

Time will tell us which chain(s) will survive as crypto/Blockchain tech is put up to the test. Just remember to never invest more than what you can't afford to lose, and there should be nothing to worry about. Cheesy

I'd rather be watching kaspa. Brighter future than Solana.
However, if you want to invest, always think carefully so that you don't lose. When you make such a decision to invest, you must know good details about that coin, or else you might. However, Silana is not that bad a coin is in a very good position in the current market and if you invest in it your future is sure to be bright.

Well now Solana has passed BNB on the coinmarketcap. It is now number 4 with almost $50 Billion.
It is up 20% in the last 7 days and that is more then Bitcoin up 17% in the last 7 days.

Solana is a high performance blockchain platform designed to support decentralized applications and projects. Solana creates a promising eco-system of use with its own thought-provoking transaction speeds. Capable of processing thousands of transactions per second. That is why Solana has attracted the attention of users as an effective solution.

The Solana network was affected yesterday and stopped processing transactions cause of a outage. The outage lasted for 5 hours.

It was the biggest crash on the network since 2 day outage in April. The outages on Solana network is because of node issues they say.

https://www.theblock.co/post/276237/solana-network-restarts-after-outage-that-lasted-five-hours

Yet, Solana is still one of the top 5 coins in market cap. With so many outages, the project should've been dead by now. I can't understand why people are still buying this coin when it's unreliable for day-to-day payments. Neither Bitcoin nor Ethereum have faced an interruption since the day they were launched. Solana's current situation shows us it's experimental and not ready for mainstream use. Developers should've kept Solana in "beta stage" until it passed all of the tests.

If SOL hasn't gone to $0 by now, it's because whales are manipulating the market. For some reason, VCs want to keep this "shitcoin" alive. I'd prefer a reliable and decentralized network like Ethereum, even if I have to pay higher fees and wait longer for confirmations. Unless Solana prioritizes decentralization and reliability, don't expect it to last a lifetime. Who knows what surprises we'll find in the future?

Solana has emerged as a key player in the crypto space as a high performing blockchain. Solana scalability and low transaction costs have earned it a place in the hearts of developers. Solana has become a trusted center for projects spanning a wide range of sectors from decentralized applications (DApps) and decentralized finance (DeFi) to non-fungible tokens (NFTs) powered by its native SOL token. Solana is building a robust ecosystem with blockchain applications for our next generation, one of the enablers in the crypto community.

Talking about the Solana blockchain, currently there are 2 projects that are being hype, namely WEN and JUPITER. especially JUPITER because this project has received quite large funding and will soon be listed. SOLANA is a potential altcoin and worth investing in.

Yes I am following this project called Jupiter. It just did a airdrop of $700 Million of the JUP tokens. https://cryptoslate.com/jupiter-airdrop-propels-solana-dexs-to-outpace-ethereum-in-daily-trading-activity/
