First of all, majority are there for the money, only few are actually gambling for the thrill. I even bumped into a thread where the OP was specifically asking gamblers not to gamble for fun lol, and that people who claim to be gambling for fun are only deceiving themselves; sounds crazy but it’s actually true and it made me wonder how some person’s minds actually works.
I’ve actually bet on my favourite sport and game I was watching as well as also betting on games i barely know, and I can say that the experience isn’t the same at all, but I can say that, it’s way much fun and better betting on your favourite game because regardless of the outcome, you’ll still end up having fun at the end of the day.

It's too strange how a person can bet on a game he doesn't even like.
There is nothing strange in placing a bet on a sport you dont like at all or enjoy watching. Good odds will make anyone to cross the line. Suppose you are building a multibet, you see tempting positions, you place your predictions and turn on Squid Game season 2 and disappear for a half day
I am not a huge fan of football. I find boring watching 22 guys walking, running, kicking ball, trying to his in large box for 90 minutes, but there are always games live, games to bet on. From time to time I add some of the games to list of bets with the money left, close browser until next gambling session. If I win its cool, if not, then I am not very disappointed 
i am a sports fan before i am a gambler i watch sports and i bet on my predictions to amplify the entertainment and enjoyment i get from that sports i could not bet while watching a sport but it is always much more fun to look forward to the results knowing especially that you might win in the end so if your favorite team wins you are happy as a fan but you can be happier if you also win some money from betting on them
this leads me to thinking whether do people bet on sports they do not enjoy or are not a fan of? maybe there are people out there who are just really in for the money and they would bet on sports that are popular and they have a bigger chance on winning at even if they do not particularly enjoy them
personally i can't imagine having to sit and watch and analyze countless of matches of a sport i do not enjoy watching just to bet on them

It is difficult to make bets or to analyze live match when you don`t know rules. I tried to analyze baseball matches. Yes, numbers don`t lie and i even got win rate higher than 50% but i didn`t understand what is going on.this leads me to thinking whether do people bet on sports they do not enjoy or are not a fan of? maybe there are people out there who are just really in for the money and they would bet on sports that are popular and they have a bigger chance on winning at even if they do not particularly enjoy them

And my favorite bets are live bets. With sports that i don`t know/understand - i can`t decide what i see, i can`t decide is my prediction ok or something went wrong.
As the result i stopped such bets for profit. But still make sometimes such blind bets with low stakes.

There are some gamblers who are indeed hunting for victory from betting, they do not care about who and in which league are undergoing various match, people like this usually have lot of experience and knowledge about the sports they bet on such as football.Even I personally often do the same thing, there are only two most I favorite team namely Real Madrid and Manchester City, but I follow several other league and study them all by following their developments to be able to bet if there is match that is interesting enough and can be analyzed more easily.
It would be more convenient for me to answer the question about the favorite sport that I want to follow regularly and the sport where I can bet more successfully. This will not be a revelation if we talk about football. Due to my occupation, I have some relation to football, although it is not exactly a sports direction, I actively follow the games of our local national championship. Naturally, it is easier to analyze and predict the game when we are well aware of all the intricacies of life and the inner workings of football players. If we answer the OP's question, then everything that does not concern football can be attributed to unloved sports. It's simple.

There are plenty of sports which i don't like but sometimes i bets on them especially on big event which most people are talking about those events and Last time I bet on a sport I didn't like on Olympic event which at that time i bets on the sports such as swimming, sport climbing or weightlifting and why I still bet on those sports even though I don't like them because the Athletes from my country fought for medals at that event so i bets on the sports which i mentioned above and pick the athlete from my country as betting option but the results of my bets was dissapointing because i almost lost all of my money
There are times when I bet for fun, there are times when I bet to make it more interesting to watch a match that I will watch anyway. In some cases, I just play for money. As for betting on those types of teams that I don’t like or those types of sports that I don’t like, there is no problem with that. You may not like a sports team or even the sport itself, but if your match is promising in terms of making money, then I assure you, everyone will like it. Because everyone likes to get money for the right prediction. If we take tennis, I didn’t like it at first. But after a few winning bets, I liked it.

From my personal experience I prefer football and prioritize betting on football. But when the international break comes, I usually bet on other sports like UCF and NBA even though I don't really like those sports but just a small amount to try my luck (not about money). I'm sure some people here must do the same thing and they also bet on other sports that they don't like but not for money but to see luck on the final result of the match. 
There are sports that I don't dislike, I'm just not interested in. These are all kinds of skiing and swimming. I have nothing against these sports, but I'm not interested in it. However, I could easily bet on such contests, and at random. For example, I rarely place small bets on the cricket, and sometimes I even win, albeit small amounts.

I believe that betting on sports that you don't like or don't understand well can be a big obstacle to getting results... to make a good bet it is essential to have a deep knowledge of the sport in question, its rules, strategies, know the players and teams and also the factors that influence the outcome of the games.
So, if you don't like a sport then it is very likely that you are not willing to invest time and effort to learn about it and then your bets will be based on guesses or luck instead of analysis and knowledge. Not to mention the fact that the lack of passion and interest in the sport can lead to a lack of motivation to follow the games and updates, which is essential to make informed decisions about betting.
Therefore, I can't imagine betting on sports that I don't like, I believe that passion and knowledge are fundamental to success in betting.

Of course I also place bets in order to earn money but only on the games that I like and I know about them. I avoid placing bets in matches where I don't have enough knowledge about the game or about the teams. I enjoy betting as it's a great way to get entertained but I don't really consider it a way to earn money especially when I know that my luck doesn't favors me that much.
However, I still enjoy my bets and win most of the bets when I do enough research about the teams. I don't often place bets, I do it once in a week sometimes more than that and sometimes one per month.

I do not bet on sports that I'm not a fan of or do not enjoy watching. It's very hard to enjoy a sports and just bet on it without knowing or understanding the game itself. And I do not see fans stretching their imagination of betting on sports that they don't like. I mean just for the sake of winning money?

See even yourself can't imagine that you have to sit for hours and then watch a game that you are not interested. And I do not know what will be the mindset of this kind of gamblers. Maybe they are really so addicted to sports betting that they will just look at the odds being presented to them and then blindly bet on it and even don't watch the game because they don't feel like it and just waiting for the outcome.
I can't have enjoyment once I don't get some good wins, that's fast and reality talk to tell to everyone. We gamble for money, and in order to enjoy and have satisfaction towards that sports you bet with always value that funds you have with you. Let's change that mindset of stressing ourselves to win big amount, have self satisfaction in order to enjoy what you're going to do with betting on whatever sports you prefer to set for your bets.

I don't enjoy watching wrestling anymore; for some reason, all fights look scripted in my eyes, and it annoys me to watch such a sport. I don't bet on them unless there is so much trend about a particular fight that I can risk a few pennies to place my bet on them.

If going for the money definitely a lot of gamblers do that meanwhile few just love keeping it simple. Personally I might consider trying other bets if only I watch those sport but, in a situation I don’t engage in such I can’t force myself just because I want an extra benefit. Trying something new only depends on the benefit attach else people will not bother creating time for gambling activity talkless of trying new sports, I might prioritize less stress when gambling so I don’t have to complicate things.
I can list several games that i do not enjoy and assure you never have i involved myself into gambling on those games, not because i don't know on what to gamble but since the sport doesn't interest me and i sincerely don't enjoy watching or seeing them accompany other sports games on my bet. There are still those who do not care, no love for the sports but with the knowledge they just make gambling on them look easy.
Specifically on a sport like Football, can't say i watch every of the games gambled on but majority of them i do spend time either mid way or after match, since times and UTC can affect the chance of watching while gambling. Don't know for others but i can bet against my favorite team and players, when i see a tougher opponent i don't think about being sentimental with my money.

Especially EPL and Laliga
I do bet on other league and even on teams I know nothing about (very rare).

It actually depends on the gambler.. some gamblers are just after the odds and not the particular sport , once it’s a good odd and likely to hit they pick it up, while some gamblers has some particular sports they like visiting to make their bets. For me I don't Enjoy any other sports apart from football (or should i say soccer:)) , I do watch Basketball as well(I don’t enjoy it like football though) but we Jen it comes to gambling I will just have to stick with football.
There could still be gamblers who bet on their not so favorite games, most probably because of money. Where there is bigger odds of winning, they stick to it regardless if they enjoy the game or not. However for me, I'll go what makes me having fun and enjoy. I'm using my hard-earned money so I have to bet on game where I would enjoy myself. Except if others pay for it then I don't have reasons to refuse the offer.
