Is there anything wrong with betting on sport you do not enjoy? No, in as much as we are to make the money not just enjoying the bet we are taking. Gambling should not always be the kind of fun we are expecting to see. Sometimes we just have to go for the money and leave the fun aspect because earning should be the major interest.

Many gamblers that have been into gambling for many years now already know that their are some times when we expect to make some good profits from our bet but the contrary is what we see. Every gambler that know what they are doing need to go for the money and forget about the fun aspect.

Perhaps we can bet on the game without watching it. But the question is if we are really satisfied with the results or not. No.

It still makes sense to bet on sports that we like and even watch the game. Because for me, sports betting is not just gambling alone but also giving support to our favorite team. It is more entertaining watching our favorite sports rather than sports that we don't have knowledge about. 

Besides, we put our bets thinking that can make us win. And this is only going to happen if we know the team and sports well. 
 

I think it is a problem if we don't like the team or the sport, and if we will still proceed. It doesn't matter if you will play for fun or profit. How can you enjoy playing for fun if you don't like the team or the sport anyway? If it's about making a profit, you will surely lose because you have no interest on doing your research about the team and the game. I can only believe that they won't matter if we are just riding someone else bets but there might still be a disappointment if they/we lose. Maybe some can do it for fun or for luck-testing purposes. They are the ones who don't care much about their losses.

This is on how you will treat the use of the gambling, like you've said you are using gambling to form entertainment you bet on your favorite team and at the same time get fun no matter what becomes the outcome, on the other hand others just want to earn money, on different games base on my experience outside even the gambler doesn't have a knowledge with the game, few of them have other friends or lets say already experienced playing in sports gambling they recommend too to their under to make a bet on a particular event. So still its up to you what you see with the sports gambling. To fun to or to earn.

Those people are the ones who do really made out such step specially to those who are really that ones who do really that believe that they can make some good winnings on the moment that they will be considering on betting into the sports that they dont even know. This do really clearly shows on how these people or gamblers are really that targeting out to make money instead on having that fun but well there's nothing we can do if they would really be having that way because there are really those people who are really that treating up that gambling/betting on this way. Sooner or later they will really be able to realize on whats the real thing about on gambling or betting world. There's no way that you can be able to determine or able to realize about odds and chances when we do speak about this stuff. So it will be just that depending on how you do treat up things accordingly. The thing here is that you should be enjoying into the bets that you are making and not really just that going for making money because this will really be that resulting into that possible addiction specially on the moment that you are chasing up your loses because of that unexpected that results. This is why you should be that mindful into the things that you are that doing because betting is really just that good for entertainment and leisure. Dont get serious and stick into the things that you do really know. If you are that prepared on burning up your cash then go ahead and bet out with those games and on the teams that you dont even know. Just make it sure that you wont be having those regrets in the end of time. So it will be that up to you on which one you would choose.

Kinda hard to think on why there's people would really think about on those sports they won't enjoy. Since usually I only bet on the sports which I enjoy to watch since placing some bets on the teams I think that have great chance to win bring something another level of excitement.

Betting on those sport I don't watch is not on my option since its just a waste of money to bet on random things. Also I don't get any satisfaction for doing it since its not only a waste of money but also time for checking if we win or not.

Yes, of course, this happens every time, you do not have to enjoy a sport or be a fan of a club/team before you bet on them and make your money. During the US election, some people claimed they voted against Trump but still won the bet on him, this is about the money and not your passion. If you want to go for what you want, keep your money in your pocket, get entertained by the view and end it there. But it is unwise to always bet on your favourite team or only the games you love when you can win in others.

I've also been a football fan since I was a kid, and I even went to a football school or academy at the time, so I had my favorite teams and players. But honestly, when I've been a bettor for a long time then I leave and forget all my favorite teams and players. Because, I feel that having favorite teams  and players is enough to interfere with me to be optimal in betting, because it becomes  a difficult choice when the favorite team plays against a team that can be guaranteed to win.

For this reason, I prefer not to idolize any team or player, so that I can be more free when betting. Also,  as for whether I bet on sports I don't know, of course I still bet and enjoy it, as I also mostly just check the final results  and it's still fun  for me.

I dont know frenn when you have something like sports you do not enjoy then you dont need to bet on it because is too risky to involve your money in something that you don't like. Because when you dont like it you dont just gamble blindly without knowing the data or past data that you need to predict the future.

Unless you followed someone that he like the gamble and he like the sport too and you followed him and turned out win but this category is same as copy trading IMO and you dont have full control of it.

The fact that gambling is based on luck makes so many gamblers to make predictions and bet on what ever event they want to for their expected results. Although I don't have much time to gamble now as before, if it were before, I bet on a lot of sports games by taking predictions from my friends. So, even if you don't watch or like a particular sports games but you have friends that do, you can still take their predictions but for you to do so, it depends if you are only gambling to chase profits.

well that’s good because that’s what i wanted to know i have always been curious if someone can look at sports from only a profiteering perspective and not something to sit down and enjoy watching
that is what i am curious about how can you analyze and digest so much information without enjoying the information you are putting in your head? maybe it is only me and a few ones that can’t do it

i would understand if they solely gamble for the sake of profit not everyone likes their job after all

While gambling, I have often seen that when I get too addicted to gambling, I am at risk of losing all my money at that very moment.  Gambling is a kind of addiction and the condition of those who get addicted to this addiction becomes very terrible.  So I think it would be very good for us if we could take gambling for enjoyment instead of taking it as an addiction.  It is never possible to earn money by gambling and keep that money because sometimes there will be profit and sometimes there will be a risk of losing all the money.

I agree with you. Someone who knows sports well gets pleasure not only from winning bets, but also from watching the matches themselves. In general, any activity is better to do when you like it, because then work can be just a hobby. Although I am sure that there are quite a few bettors who in their bets rely only on statistical data and analysts' forecasts. Most likely they do not have free time to watch matches or they do not enjoy it. We are all different, so there is nothing to be surprised about.

Those who bet on the sport they truly love and understand have many more advantages, because they get much more pleasure from watching the matches, and the second is that they monetize their expertise more often than those who simply bet on any games without even thinking about the intricacies of the game. For example, I bet only on 2 sports and do not want to bet on the rest, because this is completely enough for me and I do not want to learn anything new about other sports. After all, this requires a lot of time, concentration, effort and other skills.

Maybe if we watch the sport that we don't know can make us boring because we don't have knowledge about that. We will choose the sport that we know better because that can give us exciting feeling especially if our favorite team play against the opponent. But some friends tell me that sometime they watch the sport that they don't know because the female player is too beautiful and makes them hard to forget her face. But they don't tell if they also place a bet for their favorite female player or her team.

If that is the reason, they will still watch the sports that they don't know and there is a chance they will learn about the sports. That is because they have a new favorite player so that attract them to know more about her.

Enjoying the games isn't a requirement for some persons,  all they desire is to win a d so they don't even care if they enjoy the game or not all they just eat to so is to make sure they gamble and win and so what they do is to as much as possible try out that which they can with analysis and get a good hint into placing a bet on the game and they will be able to gamble on it, and that is what works for them, meanwhile,  your idea about how you gamble isn't a bad one either,  it's such that you actually would make better chances of winning since you have a good idea into the game as you love and enjoy the game.

A lower odd certainly matters for your choice in the case when you know nothing about the sport or the team. And in general you are just having fun. However, such behavior with participation in bets that you do not understand at all is just another manifestation of "gambler's greed". In my opinion, this is exactly so and I would not recommend anyone to practice such gaming behavior.
And this will not bring you as much pleasure as betting on competitions and teams known to you, even if this random bet wins.

Since I'm mostly betting on sports, I don't put a bet on to a team that has a higher chance of losing. I also don't put some bets on sports that I'm not familiar of at all because that's just too risky. I mean is there anybody here that are doing it? Betting on a team that you aren't familiar of. Putting on a bet on a sport that aren't enjoying watching with might be reasonable if you have a friend that will say you bet with them.

Like you said, it's all about money, and you will not put a bet on a sport that you aren't knowledgeable as well. I would rather put my bets on a sport that I have knowledge with and if I will put bets on a sport that I'm not enjoying watching with, I might just put it on a team that has a lower odd to have a higher chance of winning.

From my perspective, there's nothing bad in betting on the game played by my favorite football club. I even consider it to be an easy-to-win game because I am betting on the team I totally know, and their current model of playing.

I did, but I really don't have the feeling of doing it again... Why? It was difficult to enjoy watching sports that are not your preferred game, nor do you have the knowledge about it. In fact, I'm betting on a particular sport/s not because I love it but also because this is what I played during school days. 
It was not just we enjoyed watching, but also our advantage. Even without looking back at the history of each team, their performance in every game is enough to tell us which team we place our bets on.
