Currently, there is a verstappen that actually performs lower than last year. Because 2022 vehicles are designed for sliding ahead. On the other hand, if Max is unrivaled, despite the rules and the vehicle he is not accustomed to, and despite the fact that he does not show even 30% of his potential, this means that when this man finds the setting and balance he wants, every race will be +30 + fastest lap + pol. It is very possible that he will make the position a grand slam every week. I still don't think we've seen the real verstappen yet. There's no trace of his old aggressive offensive stance, but I think that's the case thanks to the new tools and new ground rules and the Championship has made him a more mature and risk-taking driver where necessary. If his car doesn't malfunction, I'll bet that we'll see if it will hold up, I think it will take all the remaining races and set a record.

And I'm still bottom last in the pool, despite that now I'm consistent in getting points and this time I was just 1 point behind yellow cap Cheesy. It's not that easy to get way more points than opponents, especially considering that you don't usually predict retirement of leading team driver.
At this point it looks that Verstappen is making his lead significant and it looks more likely that we will have fight for 2nd place between Leclerc and and Perez, rather than fight for the title.

Ferrari fell to the ground with such a big impact that Binotto said that they are not chasing the world championship and never did...then , I come and ask , why is Ferrari in F1 at this point ? To mock the fans ? Because I feel ashamed looking at what Ferrari is doing for so many years with the drivers and fans and they simply don't care and they just gave up on this year already when Charles just made a statement a few hours after Binotto said that with "I see myself as a world champ at the end of the season and it is what it is". We have 2 different statements from the same team , one coming from a driver that is giving 101% out of him every race and a team director who has no idea how to run and prepare an entire team to fight for championships.

To be honest , Ferrari always had this mentality , with" let's see what will happen "...and it was a miracle that Schumacher ended up with them because in my opinion after all this years , he kinda made that championship winning car by himself.

Max is already a champion and he knows that ...there is no real competition at this point for them and I doubt that either Mercedes or Ferrari will somehow overturn this during this year.

While Ferrari race director may want to be cautious about his statements and the driver when has a great car to drive is only natural to shout out that he sees himself as Champion in the end of the season, the fact is that Leclerc is right because he sees that the car is performing really well, now even in really fast tracks where they have suffered before, the upcoming tracks are a mix of slow and fast ones and this clearly favors the Ferraris over the Redbull. If Leclerc is focused good enough on these races he can cut down his distance to Verstappen by a pretty big chunk and let the fight for the title to be decided in the final races of the tournament.

Well...you know that Ferrari is near edge when it comes to new parts , updates and all that ? as the new rules are very strictly and some teams are having a very tough situation because of this new regulations and this is the main problem in F1 right now that both Liberty media and constructors are discussing. Per ex : if Haas continue to change main parts on the car in the next races , they will not finish the last 2 races of the season.

That is actually a Binotto quote when Ferrari was on the lead and as a Ferrari fan and all over italian news that quote was heavily criticised and created a storm that Binotto might not see the end of it for next year.
Leclerc should always be in the championship mental state no matter if the wins races or not , he has what it takes to be a champion.

Now , if you watched the last races and the last years of F1 , you most likely agree that at this point RedBull and Max can lose both titles only by their own mistakes, because even if Ferrari will find the stability of the car , will probably be to late and Mercedes, if somehow they can balance their car to perform without heavily bouncing , it will still be late as overall , RedBull do have the better car this year Grin.

Reputation first.
Nice race from Leclerc yesterday, he went from 19th to 5th place  Shocked. I'm really surprised and pleased to see development of Ferrari in this race, hope that from the next race they will compete against Red Bull. I don't like

Verstappen. Sainz yesterday has also tried to beat him and win race, but unfortunately he wasn't Leclerc  Undecided

agree on this, he is already secured his spot on the top
and now we just have to figure out which race is not suiting him, to put someone else to win it, since he will be probably win most

and all seemed to be more interesting, when started
hopefully, Mercedes is going to grow throughout season, so making races more interesting

Nice going yellow capper Wink Hamilton well deserved, must be nice personally for him to see all that skill finally rewarded.

Did NOT see other RB driver getting a DNF, did NOT see the other Ferrari getting on the podium, Tsunoda putting himself out, and Haas disappointing (should have seen that though, right?).

Not a big fan of Verstappen, but he's making the most out of other drivers/teams falling short.

I am liking the consistency I am having in these last 4 races being second every time just 0.5 or 1 point from the leader. While I don't care much about being first in a single round,I am really loving the consistency and this week it paid off,I have now climbed directly three positions from the 10th to the 7th place.I hope to continue this way in the upcoming rounds.

I knew that Sainz would not win even in the last part of the race I was not at all worried because Sainz is not a driver who dares a lot differently from Leclerc,if Leclerc were to be at his place for sure he would have tried once and even if that meant to risk the whole race,Sainz is not like that,I saw him in the Mclaren race when he was second and he had all the chances to overtake Gasly at that race a couple of years ago.

Don't know about it. Leclerc got a lot of problems today.
Sainz did what he could and in the end, was not a bad day for him.
Keep also in mind he has not won a race yet so he has a big psychological pressure going on.

Astonishing performance for Mercedes today with both cars.

Ohhh man i made another risky move and again for a really little cant make profit of that.

I put Sainz to win, and was so close.

I dont think Leclerc can finish in the top 3 because Mercedes seems really in pace. If Canada was not benefit for Mercedes and they still being closer and Silverstone seems to be a good circuit for Mercedes, we can finally see Mercedes fighting in the top again?

Max Verstappen managed to win the Canadian GP as it was expected. Safety car entered the race track after Tsunoda was out of the race. This created a big opportunity for Carlos Sainz actually. But Sainz couldn't manage to benefit from this opportunity. Leclerc who started from the back of the grid managed to finish the race at the 5th position. If he didn't get stuck behind Ocon or Ferrari didn't make a mistake in pit, he could have had a serious chance to finish the race in top 3. Hamilton who dominated F1 in the recent years finished the race at the 3rd position and he managed to get to podium for the first time in this season.

The winner of the yellow cap this week was jeremypwr. He is reaping the rewards of picking Hamilton for podium since the beginning of the season. 😂

Here's a recap of this season's winners thus far:
1) Bahrain - CLS63
2) Saudi Arabia - CLS63
3) Australia - darxiaomi
4) Emilia Romagna - buwaytress
5) Miami - casperBGD

6) Spanish - casperBGD
7) Monaco - darbit,Mosala
8 ) Azerbaijan - rdbase
9 ) Canadian - jeremypwr

I think that Leclerc can climb to podium somehow today. But I'm not sure if it's worth taking the risk of betting on him as he has a 3.30 odd for that.
I think you should consider betting on Leclerc in the F1 GP race this time, after I saw today's news about Leclerc.

Quote
But unfortunately, Charles Leclerc had to get a penalty. Because, Ferrari has taken a new electronic control, aka the third this year, on the Leclerc car power unit.

This also means that Charles Leclerc has exceeded the limit of two electronic control elements (CE) per season, thus triggering a 10 grid penalty for the Ferrari driver, so he is predicted to have difficulty competing with Max Verstappen in the F1 GP.

However, all decisions are in your hands to bet, maybe the information above can make you take the best decision in betting the F1 GP race this time.

In my opinion, outside/additional information is really needed to determine bets correctly and correctly, conditions, circumstances and so on about your favorite racer.

I think that Leclerc can climb to podium somehow today. But I'm not sure if it's worth taking the risk of betting on him as he has a 3.30 odd for that. It would be more attracting to me if the odd was at least 5. It is going to be a really interesting race with Perez and Leclerc starting from quite the back of the grid. Verstappen would get a comfortable win unless he has any problem. But it is really hard to predict what could happen in the other positions.

In this track I would bet on Leclerc for 3.3 odd.I think in fact the odd is quite big for him no matter him starting from the back of the grid. This track is a fast one with full throttle more than 80% of the track and although Ferrari is not fast enough to battle with Redbull compared to all the other cars is much faster than them, this means that in normal conditions Leclerc should pass all of the other cars. His only true opponent would be his team mate but I think Leclerc in general is much faster than him at least this has been the case in every race so far,so I would take the risk for Leclerc to be on the podium, the only thing I am concerned is another power failure for Ferrari in a track where power unit is king but Leclerc should have a new one so no worries for him.

I will definitely look into the Lauda incident for you. Speaking of Lauda, if there is anyone who hasn't watched Rush movie they are definitely missing too much now. You need to watch this movie.

Anything has to be better than Fast and Furious (full disclosure I actually never watched but there's so much meme and trailer content you feel like you can even not watch it and know the series)... the last driving themed movie I really liked was Drive -- 2009 movie maybe? and the soundtrack was incredible!

Looking up Lauda and Rush, didn't know there was a film like this!

When's Hollywood going to do something for modern times I wonder?

@swogerino Haas has indeed impressed. Magnussen won me a few cool points but I also took risk of dropping them this time.

What I am most impressed from this qualifying is of course Alonso on the front row after many years but what I am impressed more is seeing both Haas cars in 5th and 6th.A lot of surprises during this qualifying but I don't know if it was because of the rain or because that this track as many drivers have said requires a lot of bravery from the drivers as these drivers were saying like Vettel and a couple of others that here drivers can make somewhat of a difference.

In the prediction I won the Max Verstappen pole but I have a lot of wrong predicted drivers in the top 10 after seeing the qualifying yesterday, not changing anything though because I don't want to lose the EBP points.

Because of Perez's accident in Q2 and Leclerc's grid penalty, Max Verstappen won the pole position very comfortably. The biggest surprise was that Alonso was able to capture the second position. Sainz is unworthy to handle his car definitely. If he goes on like this Ferrari might have to make a different decision about Sainz despite extending his contract newly.

Lauda, what a blast from the past -- 3 decades before someone even came close to that, now would be interesting also to dig up what happened to Lauda (if he actually even finished or maybe got to podium).

Doesn't look like he'll get pole though, agree with swogerino -- already second in practice and then his grid penalty. Don't see him climbing up so far. Sainz might actually have a better chance at pole, but I'm locking in my pick for the Dutchman.

We are minutes away from qualifying for the Canada Grand Prix now. The last session of free practices was really interesting. It concluded with surprising drivers at the top but the rain caused this to happen mostly. However some of them among those drivers really seem to be promising for qualifying and race both. These are especially the Vettel - Alonso - Gasly trio. I'm looking forward to seeing their performances. I'm quite unhappy about Leclerc to take that grid penalty but I hope he can rise to the podium still.

@CLS63 Did Montoya not win but finish those races though? LeClerc I think just really really really unlucky with the engine crap. That surely has to change, but I don't think in time for next race.

I realized that made a mistake about the statistics I shared recently. I'm sorry for that. The true version of it is that Leclerc are going to share the same record if he doesn't win this race after winning the pole position. Montoya wasn't able to complete most of his races that he started from the pole position. In fact we can say that he shares the same fate with Leclerc.
