Great to see that Verstappen finally is not going to win another grand prix, he is outside at the moment with a broken car !

I really hope for Sainz and Leclerc, but Hamilton is really impressionant today, he has a speed that we've never seen until today  Shocked

We have left the qualifying session behind. And I must admit that it was really wonderful to watch the session. Especially Q3 was incredible. It started raining too much and the track barely started drying after some time. We watched so many position changes but at the end Sainz managed to win the pole position. Verstappen didn't have a good lap while the session was ending and couldn't take his place back from Sainz. By the way I was also not expecting Latifi to make it to Q3. Albon had a new update on his car but he still couldn't be more successful than him.

Nobody specting Sainz pole. And ....... Latifi going into Q3 also astonishing.

I really like so much the rain, but in this case i want to see the real pace of some of the teams.

I wasn't either although in the Motorsport discussion I told that I would not be surprised to see him on pole after almost fighting for victory in Canada, but didn't place a pole prediction for him.I have gone with Verstappen and it looked like it would be easy but damn those yellow flags in the worst possible place in the third sector who didn't permit him to go on pole,he would have gone as in the first sector and second he was way ahead compared to Sainz lap, nevertheless well done to Sainz.

For tomorrow though I expect a complete Redbull dominance,it looked like Verstappen was almost 1 second faster compared to any other cars today including the Ferraris, the odd should be nice on him starting second so giving it a try for the winner.

Sainz was a devil in this qualify mode, really surprised to see his pole position for tomorrow's race. About Leclerc, hope that he can do better that a 3rd place, maybe he wasn't in better condition. Happy at the same time to

see Hamilton at 5th place, this is a surprise, it seems that Mercedes is rising slowly. Let's hope that tomorrow Ferrari won't do any bad strategy.

Silverstone tomorrow, the big one. Hope the weather holds out for a really good, fast race. You can never trust British weather, it’s raining where I live today. Any way, let’s hope for a good competitive race.

I've been watching the FP3 for some time. There are still twenty minutes to go for the end. Hamilton has been the most surprising driver for me as he is in the second place currently. He is only 0.1 behind Verstappen now. I think that this shows Mercedes have made a really nice progress about their car. I started to feel like he can finish the race in top 3 but it is going to be really hard. His teammate Russell is in the fifth place now and he is also giving good signals for this race. He can maintain his streak of finishing in top 5 I think.

Sainz has done great FP2, hope to see a great qualify tomorrow for him and especially for Leclerc. This grandprix must be won by Ferrari absolutely, but, I have to see at the same time, that I've surprised about Hamilton

results in this first round, he is gone really strong  Shocked (let's see what he will do tomorrow).

The first practice session wasn't worth watching for. Because only ten drivers had valid laps in the whole session. The second one is going on much better and Carlos Sainz is the leader now. Hamilton's being the second seems really interesting but this is only a practice session of course. Qualifying session would be much different than these ones. Maybe Hamilton doesn't have a very fast car but I'm still leaving the door open for him. He can at least be on the podium who knows.

I have big doubts about Ferrari and I'm a fan of them... . Why ? Well , they felt so bad from such a high points advantage that I'm afraid there is no positive morale left in this team ...so no wonder why fans and Italy media are trying to make Binotto to quit. RedBull it's having no issues , they solved their engine problems , they solved their floor problem and I think there is nothing left in the way for Max to become champion which is kinda sad as we're back to Schumacher/Hamilton era when 1 driver dominated for years...so I do still it won't be like this as I'm a fan of F1 for 20 years and and this is becoming boring to watch just 1 team and 1 driver dominating.

agree, it is getting boring, just new driver, but domination stay the same, and there is no incentive to watch, except for being Max fan, and enjoying his domination

hopefully, Ferrari and Mercedes will come close, but certainly not this seasonand probably not next one as well

nevertheless, at least there is some drama, and this could propone Hamilton to perform well on the weekendy we will see

And with the drama going on in The F1 world right now , I'm sure and I have no doubts that Silverstone will be beyond full on both Sunday and Saturday so I do expect all the fans to cheer for Lewis as he really deserve it.  Poor guy Nelson Pique grew up as a bad old person as he said racist stuff to Lewis and I find that disgusting in 2022. The fact that Lewis kept this quiet for 8 months show that he really tried to forget what Pieque said about him but in the end , the media found out and exposed Pique.

As a consequence, F1 paddock and Liberty Media banned Pique for life to enter in any F1 paddock no matter the race. Anyway , you can find more about the drama if you search the internet. Now , regarding race , Max will want a revenge after the last race we had here so I do expect a Max giving all he has to take the win but also keep an eye on Leclerc as I wouldn't count him out yet even if he has very low chances to become World Champion.

In this race we need to see the Friday practices to see the true form of the cars and drivers but I think Leclerc is the favorite to pole here as the track is more suitable to Ferrari than Redbull if we compare both cars of the last race in Canada. However there are increasingly voices that Redbull will have a huge upgrade here in Silverstone, this is said from Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto,I don't know how much true this is but if in fact is then there are going to be a lot of problems for the Ferraris here.Luckily this weekend we have F1 back as the last one to me was a boring weekend after being used to seeing so many consecutive races.

There is a Silverstone race in F1 at the weekend. The Silverstone race comes first for F1 lovers in the race calendar that they wait for excitedly. The reason for this is that I think there are a lot of suitable places for drivers to overtake themselves on track. Leclerc and Verstappen helped us have amazing minutes on this track in 2019. https://twitter.com/F1efsane/status/1542049328323301378?s=20&t=TZS8FzNk-89QExppOF_mgw

You collected quite many points this week but I would like to ask you something. You are starting every week behind the others because of not making a prediction for pole position for any race. Is there a special reason for this?
Few times I simply forgot to make picks Cheesy. But I also didn't made it few times intentionally. Yeah, you can get extra 2 points for predicting pole winner, but without qualifying results it's more difficult to predict race results. But yeah, maybe it's worth to start predicting pole winner.

I understand that you are making a bet related to the result of a race after the qualifying session finishes. The thing I have been wondering is that you don't make any prediction for pole position as well. I was just wondering whether there was a special reason for that. Smiley

There was a pure Verstappen dominance in the Canadian GP. The last SC helped Sainz a lot to catch up with Verstappen. Because he got an opportunity to change his tyres and go for the win. He had the fastest lap even at the end of the race but Verstappen still did a wonderful work about keeping his lead till the end. I really wanted to watch a tough rivalry between Verstappen and Sainz there but I didn't get what I wanted.  Cry

I was still happy to see Leclerc reaching the fifth place at the end. I hoped to see him on podium though but it's still a good achievement when we take the fact that he started at the last place into account.

Sainz is not a pilot like Leclerc, everyone has seen it in this race. About Leclerc, hope that we'll recover as soon as possible, it would be exciting to see a challenge between two pilot instead of a single dominus by Verstappen.

There isn't the last year another pilot like Hamilton that can fight him (this is the beauty of F1, to see always fight, it is so bored to see only 1 driver which race without any competitor)

Heh, yeah it's crossed my mind a few times but seeing as qualifying hasn't exactly (to me) given any clearer indication of what might happen (case in point Haas doing so well and then flopping all over in the race itself), I go ahead and make my picks to get the extra 2 points. That's actually a significant portion of my current points atm, 15-20% more!

Still not too amazed at the way Superbru's done it but there's never a perfect way to do it (I always think points should be weighted with odds to encourage riskier predictions).

Even though bettors are seeing Max Verstappen as the favourite in the British GP, I think that Leclerc is going to win the race as long as he doesn't have any problem. I hope that we don't have a boring season that is dominated by only one team and one driver.

And I'm still bottom last in the pool, despite that now I'm consistent in getting points and this time I was just 1 point behind yellow cap Cheesy. It's not that easy to get way more points than opponents, especially considering that you don't usually predict retirement of leading team driver.
At this point it looks that Verstappen is making his lead significant and it looks more likely that we will have fight for 2nd place between Leclerc and and Perez, rather than fight for the title.
