A lot of questions open for the tomorrow race, Leclerc has to fight alone against the two Red Bull, lets see how Ferrari made the pit stops and how managed the tyres.

It looks like Ferrari is strong favorite to win tomorrow race based on the pace they had here.Redbull doesn't look like is capable of responding back and their only hope will be tire degradation of Ferrari or doing much better at the pitstop/s during tomorrow race. There is a lot of reliability questions regarding Ferrari so that can be something that can ruin Ferrari race also.Overall though looks like the upgrades to Ferrari especially this new back wing is working like it should.I believe also this track to be much suited to Ferrari together with the next one in Hungary next week.

Qualifying has finally ended and there was a really nice competition between Leclerc and Verstappen honestly. Before the last tries, Leclerc was ahead of Verstappen by a gap like 0.009s. This was really unbelievable to me. This made me start thinking that the result would also be similar to this. However Leclerc didn't let this happen. His last lap was incredibly good and he got some help by Sainz also. He improved his time even more and Verstappen couldn't answer him in the same way. His first two sectors were really bad and he managed to improve his time just a little bit.

The FP makes me more doubt about the race.

1- Mercedes not so close to the top.But one sesion was made by Nick De Vries.
2- Ferrari is fast as always but the main problem with they its they are the fastest car at one lap, but i dont know in long stints. Sainz change components so he start from the back of the field.
3- What pass with checo in the secod FP?

We have left two practice sessions behind already. The drivers in top three didn't change. Sainz, Leclerc and Verstappen captured the positions. Ferrari seem strong already but it is still early to make clearer assumptions of course. The qualifying session tomorrow would give us better idea about the race. But the upgrade might be really beneficial for Ferrari now as they seem really fast. I wonder what kind of plans Red Bull will have against them in the race especially. The pit strategies would play a big role again.

Nevertheless now Ferrari comes here with a new engine upgrade which we saw in the Haas car worked extremely well and had a lot of pace against even stronger teams than Haas.Hopefully no more problems for any of the teams, nor for Ferrari nor for Redbull and let's see a race fought equally by all teams.

I didn't know that Ferrari came to this Grand Prix with a new upgrade. As far as I know they already have the most powerful engine in the grid already. With this boost they can be even more powerful. This kind of updates are crucial for teams also because they can make a really big difference in the championship race. Ferrari need these to get ahead of Red Bull. Because Red Bull are still very hard to beat.

Haas are in a much better condition this season indeed. They have got ahead of some of their stronger opponents already. Mick Schumacher has started to perform better recently as well by the way.

-Perez its more strange but.... Ferrari and Red Bull anounce from this GP they are going to give team orders, so GG to Perez and Sainz they are second drivers.
-Most important Mercedes its improving so much and this its a Mercedes GP.

So if you plus all the things i said before LH can be favourite against CS and SP.

did not know that, so they are now officially second drivers, and LeClerc and Max would fight for the title, if there will be a fight, because difference at the moment is pretty high
for Max is understandable, but would not expect for LeClerc to get first driver spot that easy, although last race win certainly helped with that
and yeah, LH is back into form, bearing in mind that this is Mercedes track, he could reach to another podium

There are still 3 whole days before the race, it is still unclear how the free practice and qualification will go, but the bookmakers see Verstappen as a clear favorite again:

Verstappen, Max - 2.15
Leclerc, Charles - 2.50
Hamilton, Lewis - 8.75
Perez, Sergio - 12.90
Russell, George - 15.90
Sainz Jr., Carlos - 20.10

It turns out that if he wins the pole position or starts from the first line, then the odds of him winning will be around 1.6 again (absolutely uninteresting for betting). The fact that Hamilton is quoted higher than Perez, Sainz and Russell in my opinion is unfair.

Boris i think you are missunderstanding a few things.

-Sainz change the engine and penalize.
-Perez its more strange but.... Ferrari and Red Bull anounce from this GP they are going to give team orders, so GG to Perez and Sainz they are second drivers.
-Most important Mercedes its improving so much and this its a Mercedes GP.

I agree about the track @darxiaomi. There are especially some turns that are really complicated because they are changed very often. I think they should put something in front of the old version of those turns to prevent any problem for drivers. I saw only white lines to differentiate from the others but I don't think it is enough. I'm just hoping not to watch a boring race this weekend. Because after that great race in Austria I would like to see another one on this track as well.

Yeah I hope the same, unfortunately I don't think I can call a great race when a team is fighting with full power while the other had no grip at all at some laps and some laps had a little, this is not fighting in equal condition. With this I don't want to say that the Austria race was boring,it was just won because of the losing grip of Redbull.

We are in another race week finally! It is a boring track indeed and it is changing very often too. I have seen a turn on this track to be changed so many times so far and this must be a little annoying for the drivers also. Maybe it is boring but I still hope to see some competition for especially winning the race. Leclerc is back again after that huge win in the Austria GP. He should do his best to maintain this momentum in the French GP also. Leclerc needs to continue to win if he wants to fight for the championship.

Very strange to see that odds, i dont know why Sainz and Perez are so high, i know they can recive races orders if Leclerc or Verstappen are in race, but still high to me.

I agree the odds are extremely high but I see this as an opportunity to put little money on both of them, mostly on Sainz as he has been doing some really good races in the last three despite the engine failure which caught fire in Austria. The odd over 16 for him seems intriguing to bet at least little money on him just to watch the race with some added adrenaline.Even if Verstappen and Leclerc are in the race I know Redbull publicly declared that there is no official first driver and both drivers are entitled to win races (of course this is only theory so far,in practice we have seen they favor Max a little bit more),the same from Ferrari, they said it loud and clear, you are allowed to fight when Sainz asked to fight with Leclerc but since he was not able to overtake him then he stopped racing aggressively against him. With this I want to say that there is no official first driver and this make the odds really big consider Perez drives a Redbull and Sainz a Ferrari.

The French GP is closing in on us. There is still one week to go of course. Leclerc got a really important win for himself and the team as well in the previous race. It is good to see the Leclerc - Verstappen rivalry being heated again now. I will be wondering if Leclerc can maintain his solid effort in the coming race too. The last French GP races were in 2018 and 2019. Lewis Hamilton won both of them. His car isn't in a good shape now so we are most likely to see a new winner. I expect this rivalry between Leclerc and Verstappen to go on here.

A historically boring circuit, yes Mercedes isnt in the best shape but, they are improving and as i read the French Gp suits perfects to the W13 so, lets see if Mercedes make a little more upgrade and the circuit favour their car they can fight for the win.

Hamilton's odd for winning is 9.30 on Sportsbet website. He is even favoured more than Perez and Sainz now according to odds. This is interesting to me still. I know that Mercedes are improving every race now but I still think that Hamilton can't get past Perez and Sainz both in normal conditions. Maybe the odds are like this because of Hamilton's last results. Perez hasn't been lucky recently but Sainz won one race and finished 2nd before the previous race. I would at least expect Sainz to be favoured more than Hamilton.

With the new cars should be possible to overtake here since you are not losing so much on turns.

And since we have a lot of turns, Ferrari should be favored here.

But yes, overall boring track.

I think it will be difficult for them as they did not manage to win here last year when they were stronger and were overtaken in track not in pit lane by Redbull,a perfect overtaking of Verstappen against Hamilton,I remember well that race. What I want to see in fact is the continuation of Ferrari, how it will behave in this track, normally it should do well but also Redbull should stop relaxing like they are doing in these last couple of races, one race Verstappen has no grip, one race he completely loses grip and barely manages to finishes the race in the points zone.A lot of question marks here but there is still time for this GP,exactly 10 days to the race and 7 to the free practices.
