Im going to do a unpopular opinion, for me was a good race but totally thrown away by race direction.

Man you cant pull a red flag for every minimal thing in the track. Im getting tired about the security concerns excuse, they are killing the sport. In the first Safety car, and then Red flag , it was no chance to that was a red flag, the car was really well placed and the crane was near to took off really fast, for cleaning the track?, yes no problem, for what you have ton of personel and 97356363 cameras plus GPS and the safety car on track, it was only sweep some gravel.

And the red flag from the final.... absolute shameless. WHY? and we come back to the so called "SAFETY" and you put the drivers in a new standidng start and you know hey are gonna go ALL IN in the first turn, and the chance of chaos are HUGE.

This is pure TV order to get drama not matter a what cost, they destroyed strategies, and in some case the whole race (like Alpine).

About the pool..... with that end destroy all the predictions we can make.

Looks like I got the yellow cap for this weekend. First time when this happens and even if my picks were on point , it was still a very controversial race that will continue to spark discussion until next race.

I also think that Hamilton got a fair wheel to wheel battle with Max and there are no reasons for him to start and trow words here and there about Hamilton and Fia ...because he is the last guy who can talk about regulation and rules. Grin

Congrats to you for the yellow cap.I had put my alarm at 6.45 AM to wake up to watch the race at 7 AM but I woke up at almost 2 PM and I don't know why I was so tired, only to see the results in the Superbru and saw really a race with few points for everyone compared to the other two so I am a bit sad that I did not wake up to watch it as I saw Ferrari doing the worst,Mercedes improving a lot and Russell not in the top 10,probably a race with a lot of events I am assuming so I am going to watch the highlights in Youtube.

Well it looks like Redbull domination is gradually fading away and other cars are starting to catch up,also Perez not making it in the podium is another indication of such thing.

it was a great race, pity that ended up with another Max victory
nevertheless, it suggests that we can see competitive Mercedes throughout the season, new car suits them well, and Hamilton showed that he can compete with it, Russell was not that lucky for a car to suit him till the end

Perez could not end up on podium, it was too much to overtake during the race, and LeClerc had another early incident
When race like this happens I almost feel sorry I never watch them Smiley Who knows, couple of races like this in a row and maybe you guys will manage to convert me.
At least I am not bottom of the pool and i even got a green arrow.

I have changed my prediction because I believe it's very unlikely for Perez to get a podium (I've predicted him to make a podium previously, now removed him). For Perez, it can also result in getting his car damaged, when he tries to push too much for overtaking. He still has 0 experience how his car will behave, even if all technical issues from FP3 and Qualification are sorted out. Maybe we'll see Perez going straight into gravel again in Sector 1 (as he did in his first Qualifying lap  Cheesy), taking out few cars.
Maybe he can make position 6 or 7 when he's really good and doesn't damage his car, but podium? Very unlikely.
I expect Mercedes making a double podium because Aston Martin didn't seem to have high top speed, so it will be very difficult for Alonso to overtake Mercedes, if he can't get one during start. Maybe he'll even get sacked by one Ferrari.
If so, it'll be even more difficult for him.
Mercedes is not Ferrari, where we can expect tyre degradation. Mercedes is much more stable.

So, let's see if my decision was a good idea to discard 2 EBP. 2 points are a lot but I'm hoping for a strong Mercedes performance tomorrow, which can result in 6 points for a correct podium, if it happens.
Good luck everyone.  Smiley
I also changed my prediction and I earned 0.5 point for guessing the exact position of Sergio Perez(5th) thanks to that but because I changed Alonso from the third position to the 2nd I lost 1 point for this initially exact podium position in addition to the 2 EBP sacrificed. So in the end this decision cost me 2.5 points overall (-3+0.5). This Grand Prix has been crazy for me with half of my top 10 drivers retiring due to the unexpected high number of accidents that occurred during the race. Anyway congrats to the winners.

🔥🔥🔥🔥It has been a race that won't be forgotten for many years. Fortunately I woke up.🔥🔥🔥🔥
Truth spoken and undeniably the race that won't be forgotten come the next season of Drive to Survive season 6 just for the sheer drama that it has been so far.
Only 2 laps left then that crash which took out all of Alpine drivers and dropped the Aston Martins out to the bottom upon the next restart.
To do what.. 1 more lap?
I have lost count of how many red flags and safety cars they have had in the entire race because it has felt after each one there were 30 minutes inbetween.
Drivers whom didn't imagine they would be getting points are going to if this restart doesn't have another crash.

Is it worth losing 2 Early Bru Points for being able to replace him in order to try to earn 1 or 2 points at the end? It's very difficult to make a choice.

I had high hopes for Ferrari but another let down from them because the fans don't want to see them fighting for top 6 instead of fighting for podiums and winning races. The good thing is that the pressure seems a little off for now on them , so I think they have some big upgrades coming for Barcelona but for now , I don't see them making into top 4 in tomorrows race.  Sad

I've also checked if Verstappen won in Australia so far and he didn't so maybe after tomorrow race , he still won't have any  Grin Grin. Hard to believe that he can trow the race unless someone takes him out or the car will face issues.

It was a really bad qualifying session for Perez I'm afraid. He had a qualifying session full of problems and it was a rear suspension problem which caused him to be out in Q1 already if I'm not wrong.

But if Red Bull solve the problems in his car I believe he can climb so many positions during the race. But it looks like my picking him for podium won't come true.  Sad  Mercedes drivers really surprised me a lot because I didn't put them in upper positions. But now we see them starting in the first and second race lines. Ferraris are still having the same issues. I might have done the right thing by not putting any of them on podium. But everything can happen in an F1 race of course.  Grin
I agree with you, starting from the last position means he is not likely anymore to finish on the podium, because it implies to overtake 17 cars at least in only 58 laps (about 190miles/305km) that's why a big dilemma is coming for all superbru contestants who've picked him for the podium. Is it worth losing 2 Early Bru Points for being able to replace him in order to try to earn 1 or 2 points at the end? It's very difficult to make a choice. Anyway good luck to everyone.

Another pole position for Max Verstappen won in Australian Grand prix, but I was right about Mercedes making big improvements on their car.
George Russell was second, Lewis Hamilton was third, both from team Mercedes, but results could be different tomorrow.

Frankly when we look at his performance this season I think 4.20 is a quite good odd for Perez to take the pole position.

Aged like shit this message XD .

Or you try to fool us and make us put that pick Tongue

Anyways, a really good qualy to see, because until that last lap of Verstappen everybody can have the chance to took the pole, and plus what a comeback from Mercedes. Nobody thinks they can end on that positions, lets see in the race if they have some pace or not.

Haha, it was a really unfortunate qualifying for Perez. I didn't pick him for pole though but he is among my podium picks. After seeing this problematic session I have doubts that he can make it to there but let's see. Red Bull have the fastest car in their hands in the end. If Perez has a clean race maybe he can reach podium which would still be a good success for him at a weekend like this one.

I wonder how consistent Mercedes drivers will be in the race after this impressive qualifying results. If they keep this up maybe they can finish ahead of Ferrari drivers again.

For Perez to get back on podium or even 2nd place which seems like impossible at first he needs a ton of luck beside driving really well from his side.Redbull is the fastest car and they are the fastest overall in the race while for Mercedes I highly doubt they to be as impressive as they were in the qualifying as any driver can give it all and make a great lap time but keeping those lap times consistent during the race I predict to be really difficult for Mercedes while I predict to be super easy for a car like Redbull who continues to dominate this season.Max Verstappen looks unstoppable and if he wins again tomorrow by a good margin then it is a bad day for all fans of F1.

So as many of us I assume had predicted that Verstappen will get pole,he got pole. The interesting fact is that Perez is out of the qualification and he will start last which will make this race interesting to watch as he having right now the best car of the grid should be in all in attack.I am impressed by Mercedes improved performance and I never knew they would be so close to Max in qualifying, disappointed with Ferrari which in the free practices showed good signs of recovery but when it comes to the real deal they still are behind.Alonso and Aston Martin will not have that an easy race tomorrow either as they have to pass Mercedes on track.

I need to make a reminder as the qualifying session is early according to European time zone.

Thanks for the notification!
mmhh! It will be much earlier, my region than in Europe.

Sr. 1miau, Pole(Q):  well, were problematic, and they leave us adrift to have more precision in the decision of those 5th to 10th places, anyway, lucky...

Yeah, for us living in Europe, we'll have to submit our predictions without FP3 and that's a bit tricky, especially since FP2 was obviously not completed as planned by many teams.
Ferrari doesn't seem to look bad here, especially considering how bad Ferrari performed in past FP sessions in Bahrain or Jeddah.
Leclerc has a real possibility to get P2 in qualifying, so is Alonso but I'm still expecting Aston Martin stronger on Sunday as Ferrari still has a higher tire degradation.
Overtaking isn't very easy in Australia but as far as I know, we have 4 (!) DRS zones now.

Frankly when we look at his performance this season I think 4.20 is a quite good odd for Perez to take the pole position.
I think he took pole position last time in Saudi Arabia and Verstappen did it in Bahrain, so I think it's time for Verstappen again Smiley
I also believe, Verstappen would have taken pole in Jeddah, too but engine issues prevente Verstappen from doing so.
Normally, Max will also take pole in Australia but it's never 100% safe. Mabye 90%.  Cheesy
