Hello everyone. 24 out of 28 people who wanted to join the pool have made payment so far. There are only 4 people left who haven't. I just wanted to make a small reminder even though there is still time until March 17.

That is the point, you say so yourself March 17.  I think that just as I send DM to invite me, you can also send this collection note, something like this could be the way for the reminder, and in any case, whoever doesn't pay doesn't get paid.  I find this reminder out of place.

I don't share anything new as the members who have made payment and haven't are clearly seen in the first post already. If we come to the reason why I wrote it to the thread instead of PM, I wanted the members who use bot to get notification also.Lastly still I couldn't understand why you reacted to it like that. I already said in the first message that it was a small reminder.

This week we have race, so lets pump the thread.

This circuit its completly diferent to Bahrein so we can expect changes in the performance of the teams, also this one its a "urban circuit", and for all of those who doesnt know what that means, its a circuit in the streets of the city, the problem with this kind of circuits its you dont have so much escapes, and you always have the barrier near to you so, you make a mistake and you crash against the barrier.

In term of the pools this only say one thing, HIGH posibilities of Safety Car, so this can destroy all kind of predictions.

I just tried to create an entertaining organization here and trusted people's goodwill. But it looks like I made a mistake. I'm apologizing every other participant because of this.
We have already spoken privately about accepting late entry fees, but no need to worry about one bad apple in the bunch.
The other 28 people don't need him nor his 2 mbtc to have a fun F1 season pool.

I absolutely agree. From now on I will do the thing you have said. I just tried to create an entertaining organization here and trusted people's goodwill. But it looks like I made a mistake. I'm apologizing every other participant because of this. Despite all of this I also think it would be an exaggerated action to give red tag because of only this.
No need to apologize, you are doing something for the community, it was just an advice how to make it easier for you in the future. This is your only pool so it isn't that bad but if you are running more things that will put you in some tricky situations almost every week and then you have to learn to anticipate participants behavior and do a little more effort upfront instead of more effort later.

People can also forget to pay, and you have to remind them over PM or do who knows what. It is far more likely somebody will forget to pay participation fee than personal debt. Just the way we are wired.

We learn best on our own skin. I know I will never again give so generous rules to making bets as we we had during World Cup competition. Had to warn so many people and explain so many times and you would think that saying 0.5 mBTC bet on odds over 1.5 should be enough. Then you allow that people pay in other currencies and then you have to do exchange rates for half the tickets. Because most of them will not play a bet for 15$ like I would do, no they will play it for 10.46$ which may or may not be 0.5mBTC, or even worse do it in TRON and again right on the cent  Grin

That is a pool captain lesson for you CLS, there some good people in betting section but most are here to make the campaign posts and/or game as much contests as possible.  That is why I try to avoid late entries as much as possible.

If somebody can't pay I tell them to PM me and then I loan the entry fee. That way the person always pays since they feel obliged and if they don't I can always red tag them.

Here you didn't specifically wrote that whoever joins must pay so I feel red tagging is a bit too much. It was implied of course. It is a dick move but nothing you can really do about it. Kick woodie out of the pool and that is it. Put him on your private black list and demand money upfront from him if similar situation presents itself.

After my wooden spoon 🥄 moment from the Bahrain Grand Prix, clearly this was a sign I had quite a lot going on at the moment and didnt have my head in the game , &  unfortunately will be sitting this one out, thanks for the opportunity team motorsport. All the best to all.

Frankly I'm disappointed after this decision you have made. Because the reason why we indicated the last payment date as March 17 was not for you to test out the pool. It was for making it easy for you to make the payment. I wonder what the pool participants are thinking about this.

Well everyone is free to decide for his own and take on the consequences thereafter.I won't judge you, anyone has his own reasons but you leave a bad taste here as it looks that now that you saw that you could not do well in the first race you are retiring. While you are enrolled in a signature campaign I think there would be no problems for you to send the fee and continue to have fun with us all.

Keep in mind that last season I was last for about 3-4 races and then I ended in the top three which was a prize spot level,I was just consistent as I kept coming 2nd or 3rd in most races so the first race does not mean anything and this year looks even more interesting the F1 season as yes Redbull dominates but all other teams are at the same level almost,so plenty of time to make good races, there are also tons of yellow caps for grabs which are equal to free bets and everyone has an equal chance to get it.Just my two cents on the matter.

I like a good challenge and something away from a pitch or court am definitely jumping on this one.

And I already see some familiar names signing up for the competition, hope their skill isn't as good as the other sports  Tongue

Will get the sign up fee in before deadline day... reserve a spot for me cheers.

Bit of a bad move this, pal. CLS sent you the private link to join on Superbru. You had one bad race so now decide ‘I think I won’t pay’.

Not cool to be honest, I personally wouldn’t accept you in any future sportsbet.io pools or forum promotions. You’re just wasting peoples time and taking away the fun aspect of it.

Yes i think in the same way as you CLS, the spirit of moving the deadline to pay was for make easy the payment, not to try and go out (obviusly you are free to do that), but in addition a wooden spoon doesnt mean anything, and F1 its "easy" and also in the pool its more about luck than skills, because here more than in football always can happen thinks that can change all the output in the last laps, for example a Safety car, a bad pit stop, a penalty and a reliable problem in the cars, like in the last week Leclercs had.

Life, Love and Laughter...

Just wondering...  How many spots are getting paid out of 29?  Just so we know.  In the EPL pool I didn't know that 22 spots were getting paid until it was too late as I stopped trying to win and just started to clock buttons starting around November because I thought only 10 spots were getting paid.  Cheesy  I don't want to make the same mistake here in this pool.  Grin

Anyway..  Saudi Arabian GP next!  Let's see if Aston Martin can finish on the podium again.  They're the team to watch imho.

The final date for the pool participants to make the payment is March 17. And as there are still some participants who haven't made it yet we haven't announced the distribution table. But we would determine it concurringly. You can still fight for yellow cap in the PL pool as well. Tongue

Right right...  Was just curious.  Grin

And yeah, I wouldn't mind winning a free bet or two from getting a yellow cap at the EPL pool but it's also hard to do.  A lot of the guys now have decent knowledge of the game unlike some years prior.  It's really noticeable how everybody has leveled up in football, F1 and MMA.  Can't speak for the rest of the sports.

But maybe I shouldn't be taking those free bets for granted by making degen long shot parlays with them.  Lolol.  I think next time I'll make some bets that actually win.  I've wasted more than 10 of them.  That's like over 200 bucks!  I could've made a bigger parlay with that.  Cheesy Cheesy

There were only 12 people in the pool last year but this year there are 29 members and this is making things much more difficult. Another example is that one needed to win approximately 11.78 points per race to finish the pool as the first last year.
Interesting to know. It's a really big difference from our current average. Maybe many participants expected Mercedes to be stronger last year and overestimated Mercedes in some races last season. And also Ferrari dropped off very quickly after Ferrari had been very strong in the first 5 or 6 races last season. So, it's quite likely, many participants overestimated Ferrari for the rest of last year's season as well.
I remember, Alfa Romeo dropped of as well after Bottas scored a few good results very early last season.
It'll be interesting to see such developments and calculate it for our current season.  Smiley

I think that Aston Martin will most likely be again on the podium as this is a very fast track coming to S.Arabia and they passed Mercedes on track and even Ferrari so unless Mercedes and Ferrari drastically improve their car I don't see them joining the podium either this upcoming race.
Your analysis makes sense, Ferrari will suffer even more from tyre degradation, as Saudi Arabia is a really fast track, where fast corners and heavy breaking zones will make it hard for Ferrari to save their tyres, which was key in Bahrain because Sainz really suffered from tyre degradation, while Alonso didn't struggle. Maybe even Mercedes will fight Ferrari in Saudi Arabia, we'll see.

But it isn't hard to predict this point to be much higher than that this year.

Thanks for the interesting information about last year's season buddy. I'm pretty curious whether you really need a (significantly) higher points average to win this season (I doubt it, since I don't think all the new pool participants are F1 experts, haha).

Anyway, for my part, I have already noticed at the first race of the season, how little I know about F1. I guess, I will need to do some proper F1 research here if I don't want to be last in pool at the end of the season.  Cheesy

There is no race this weekend or? Is this always a two-week rhythm between each of the F1 events?

The F1 calendar isn't progressing regularly. There might be some spaces on some weeks. If you look at the race calendar in the OP the dates of the races that will happen during the season are determined. I don't agree with you about the new participants. It was really very hard to predict the podium after Leclerc's incident. But there were some people who did it.
